#ALL CAUSE I WAS ASSIGNED TO PLAY JOHN PROCTOR FOR THE DRAMATIC READING

So I kind of just realized that I might've lost the fixation I had for Detective Grimoire, a special interest I've had for like 2 years and a half, to The Crucible. The Crucible by Arthur Miller. One of the books I read in English class.
I feel terrible but I legit can't even cry about it, not just cause I don't have the tears to cry about a past fixation that no longer gives me the adrenaline it used to, but because I lost it to something somehow more niche and stupid.
Fuck my English class nerd life
#I LOST THE FIXATION THAT SIMULTANEOUSLY SAVED AND RUINED MY LIFE. TO A FUCKING PLAY#ALL CAUSE I WAS ASSIGNED TO PLAY JOHN PROCTOR FOR THE DRAMATIC READING#on a more serious note this feels so odd#like i made my entire presence online to surround being obsessed with detective grimoire#now that my not as fixated on it as I used to I can't help but feel this empty somberness of grief#these games used to mean so much to me and in a way they still do but now I feel bad cause they don't make me violently happy anymore#I not only grew emotionally attached to the games but to said emotional attachment#again now that it's gone it feels so weird. what do I even do with myself now? normally I wouldn't care but for some reason I do#of course I still like the games but it's just a regular interest now if anything. it feels so awkward and weird#again apart of me feels lost and guilty. which is silly I know. but again these games used to mean a lot to me. like. a LOT.#well. sadness rant over. crucible shitposting will continue tomorrow.#detective grimoire#the crucible#autism special interest#special interest#hyperfixation#rant

Salem Witch Trials I've never seen the play or any odd the movies, but the book was really good. It centers around Abigail Williams and John Proctor. Abigail was one of the leaders of the girls who accused townspeople of being witches. In real life, she was only 11, but she is an older teenager in the play. John Proctor is a well thought of farmer. In actuality, he was 60 years old, but his character is in his 30's in the play. The characters are fairly historically correct. I enjoyed researching to find out what history says happened after reading Miller's work. Go to Amazon
One of the masterpieces of US drama. Although it ... One of the masterpieces of US drama. Although it has four acts it flowed forcefully from the first to last page. A must for anyone interested in the theatre or US literature. In every respect, characterization, plot, dialogue and the interplay of all elements, an incredible and poetic work of art. It is about the only thing that separates the human race from all other species, integrity and values other than self preservation. One of the few plays in US literature that has the power of classical works of the Greeks and Shakespeare. Go to Amazon
but found it overall to be beautifully written and personally challenging to read and imagine oneself ... I never had to read The Crucible in high school so thought I would give it a read much later than typical. I was intrigued and saddened by the piece, but found it overall to be beautifully written and personally challenging to read and imagine oneself in such an environment. I do suggest others read this work and better understand the price one pays to allow hatred and intolerance to guide actions and behaviors. Although many would argue this wouldn't happen today, I would say watch the news and you'll see just how present this work continues to be. Go to Amazon
The Crucible Review I was assigned an English paper to be written on an author of the Literary Canon. A friend of mine recommended this book so I decided to read it. This book blew me away. The plot was engaging and there was never a moment when I became disinterested. The story of one girl turning a whole town against a group of wrongly accused people of practicing witchcraft blew me away. The whole time I was reading the book I was rooting for Abigail's manipulation and lies to be exposed. The one thing I liked about the characters in this book is they all had a driving purpose. It ranged from wanting the affections of a married man to trying to redeem ones self by saving a town from a group of evil women. I feel this a great educational book. It gives insight into the Salem Witch Trials and also Puritan religion. It has all of the drama and secrets of a great book while also teaching an important moral lesson. It shows how one lie can spiral out of control and have devastating consequences. After reading this book, I was interested in the characters real life stories and researched. This is one of those books that will keep you thinking after your read it about the characters, plot, and the sad ending. This book will always remain on my bookshelf for future rereadings. Go to Amazon
It's amazing how Miller builds the story and the characters and ... Although this book portrays a society from many years ago, I think that the story provides a lot of thoughts and reflections about our actual society. The women's role, religion influence: these topics are strong in the book and it helps to analyze how the world evolved - and still needs to evolve. It's amazing how Miller builds the story and the characters and how their futures change from the beginning until the end, very dramatic. Even that sometimes I was unhappy with things that happened and could barely believe how insensitive an human being can be, I have to admit that injustices, unfortunately, happen every day. I suggest that you read the book and, after that, watch the movie, which is really good too. Go to Amazon
Classic. This is one of my favorite books/screenplays of all time. I've lost count of how many times I have read this it's been THAT many. It's a book and practically a true story about how hysteria causes people to go mad. One person says they have an itch, then the whole room is itching and that's exactly how the Salem Witch Trials began. This book is amazing and it's def recommended, the only thing I don't recommend is watching the movie IF you're a sensitive person... The book doesn't make me cry but oh lawdy does the movie make me bawl!! Go to Amazon
The Horror of 1792 The almost impossible-to-believe events of the witch hunts and superstitious mentality of that age are well-portrayed in this story created by Arthur Miller, and are based on well-documented, established historical facts. Go to Amazon
Not my favorite, but a classic. I had to read this in high school and again recently in grad school. I am not convinced the actual writing is great, but the story and the characters are fully developed and crucial. The story is a very important one to grasp and fully understand. Depicts how real life "witch hunts" began and are able to reach dangerous heights when laced with irrational people, ignorance, and narrow minded outdated beliefs. Scary part is, this is still happening on smaller scales all over the world. Again, not my favorite piece of literature because I enjoy old gothic romance (Wuthering Heights etc.) but I would highly recommend as a piece of writing any reader should take in at least once. Also, it's a piece of cake to read and takes no time. Go to Amazon
