#45 Bloody, Fat Covered Swords

Wanna freak out about something really cool?

Isaiah 34:6 The sword of the Lord is bathed in blood, it is covered with fat— the blood of lambs and goats, fat from the kidneys of rams.

If you're like many, you may not completely understand the sacrificial system that was brought to its apex and completion in Christ. Suffice to say, it's complexities can be studied for many lifetimes over and there will still be new information gleaned each time you sit down and let the Lord teach you the scriptures.

This passage in particular interests me in that is specifically labels a body part (kidneys) and then something OF of the body part (fat). If you've ever seen a kidney in the real world, there's little to no fat associated with the kidney itself, rather, the fat is cloaked around or ON TOP. Also on top, and also a fatty like substance is a little gland called the adrenal gland. It is the seat of emotional response. It is the connection between the concerns of your soul and the physical body. Its the switch that flips the body into response mode - responding to the peace or lack thereof in the soul!

The fact that the Lord's sword is covered in blood and fat from the kidneys tells a beautiful story of sacrifice. That the ram's fat from the kidneys was taken by the sword instead of yours means that there has been a replacement! With a ram its one thing, but how much more with the body of Christ? What's the big deal, you may ask...

If you've heard about your adrenals you know that their dysfunction is a major root of chronic disease - fatigue, obesity, brain disease - both neurologic and metabolic. STRESS is the operative phrase given to the battle that these little guys fight every moment of everyday. Lack of adrenal function yields a body that is breaking down in real-time.

Do you understand what this means?

You do not need to be stressed out -  or at the very least, if you like being stressed out, chronic stress does not need to destroy your body! The Lord has already made preparations for you that, if you can agree with Him, will literally turn around your health! He has made a way to stop the destruction of your body through destructive stress.

This ram's sacrifice is a substitution for you. The sin you once had was transmitted to the ram and its adrenals were taken I place of yours. The ram is a picture of Jesus - He literally offered himself in your place.

Meditate on this - see it in your mind. Let Him minister this peace to you and be energized, knowing that the fat of the kidneys has been sacrificed!

Say "no you don't adrenals! You stay put in health and peace because the Lord has already provided the sacrifice. So chill out!"
