I’ve been putting off doing this..

Q: Wait, why don’t you want me to tag that post as Hamilton??

A: Don’t worry too much about that- it’s not problematic or anything. The reason I have that in my description is because it can just get kind of annoying for me when one of my 3am posts about Baron Von Steuben skateboarding through a Denny’s blows up and gets tagged as “hamilton” by hundreds of people.

Q: How would you know people are tagging things as Hamilton??

A: Honey please I’m the definition of a tag hawk ok a post can get 10,000 notes for all I care I’m still gonna look through each and every tag (also don’t hesitate to reblog with tags they’re honestly the light of my life??)

Q: Do you HATE LMM AND HAMILTON????????

A: Of course not! I think it’s a very well-done musical and I definitely appreciate Lin for his contributions to breaking breaking casting roles (as a black teenage girl, I probably wouldn’t have made my John Adams cosplay). The thing is though, this blog was created to be for 1776 and history, not Hamilton. I do reblog some Hamilton stuff every so often, though.

Q: Ewwwww... why do you like John Adams? :/

A: Aight, this one I could really get into, but I’m trying to keep this short, so let me just say that John Adams wasn’t a bad guy!! He fought tirelessly to get this hell-country up and running, and things really just never seemed to go his way. He was a real Massachusetts Guy; Lawyer, small farmer, went to Harvard, never owned a slave (hated slavery itself, too), and really his whole life he was just Trying His Best. Also I’m in love with Abigail Adams so that probably has something to do with it.

Q: Wtf is 1776?

A: 1776 is a musical (later made into a movie) by Sherman Edwards starring William Daniels (Mr. Feeny) as John Adams. Taking place during the summer of 1776, the plot is about how John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, and Benjamin Franklin fight for independency from England to be passed (and all the bullshit they had to go through to get there). I totally recommend it (although if you’re watching the movie for the first time you may wish to use subtitles, since the dialogue can be bit confusing). 10/10 esp if you like watching sweaty old dudes do gay shit

Q: Okay, but tell us about you. How old are you? When did you make this blog? What’s your favorite color?

A: I’m 16, I made this blog in May of 2016, and my favorite color is teal (but it’s gotta be like, real teal. none of that aqua-marine nonsense)

Q: You say that you’re black, but I’ve seen your selfies and you don’t look black to me!!!

A: Okay??? Sorry you feel that way??? I’m mixed (my mom is white, and my late father was black), but I still identify as black, so...
