Just thinking about how the set up for my exhibition will be , I’d like a window view. Like walking by my store in a mall or on a busy strip in the city. Just envisioning .

The ATH , Arundel Theodore Hunter Sir.
Part of my collection is inspired by my late grandfather . Paying homage to his existence. A man know for taking care of others born February 14, 1926 , a man literally full of love, taking care of others. Also another reason for the heart at the center of my logo. I never got to meet him , but all that I was told about him has always been great things.

This was my process of cutting... I think this is my least favorite part of creating clothes... the cutting the fabric .

About the ABOVE THE HORIZON logo
Why the heart, why is it upside down?
Lets shift the narrative of things upside down always representing something negative or demonic. This is not a love falling out or and upside down/failed love. I chose the heart because the heart is vital, just as a vision is vital to the anything ever created. It’s is upside down which means to be poured out, meaning that I am pouring out my vision to others. Sharing the importance of sticking to ones vision as well as heightening one’s perspective, not limiting oneself.

The Mood Board
Above the Horizon is a streetwear collection that has graphic t-shirts, hoodies, jeans , overalls , denim jackets and track suits. My color scheme for this collection consist of neutral tones such as olive green, beige , navy blue, sand and grey. Also with some subtle pops of color like red, pink and orange. It is a comfortable me unisex style. The influence for this gear is the streets and culture if the DC - PG areas otherwise known as the DMV . Having a combination of a constructive yet edgy look blended with the fit of a European tailor. It is not too bright and not too dull but is right in between. After doing my research on street wear artist I have found my deepest influence from designers Sheila Rashid , Virgil Abloh and other designer such as the originator of streetwear Shawn Stussy, also fashion activist Katherine Hamnett and Patrick Kelly .

ATH A MOOD.
What is ATH? It’s is more than just a collection or brand. It’s a vision. It’s a look. Its a mind set, it’s a way of life. ATH is the acronym for Above the Horizon. A reminder that your vision expands far beyond the surface of what is seen at eye level. Sticking to my vision is how I birthed this brand with the beliefs that if I can envision then I can create and from there I am unstoppable, making my vision a reality. My goal is not only to create clothes that make you look good, but also feel good and create the confidence that you too can stick to your own vision, create and expand.

Mood Fabrics visit
So this was my first fabric store visit to mood fabrics, never being to any other fabric stores outside of the DMV area. I felt like a kid in the candy store thinking of all the things I could create. I had my designs and color scheme on my phone comparing all the fabrics to see what would fit with the fabrics I already had and would go best with my designs. I took my brothers with me so I had a lot of help, second opinions and of course someone to carry my bags. I had been in there for what felt like 20 minutes but I’m reality 2 hours at went by and we had to leave to get my brothers something to eat. We all had enjoyed the time in the fabric store with all the different fabrics we hadn’t seen before . I can’t wait to go back .
