Happy zips over to hug his Non, making noises and gestures at Alika.
"He says he is also coming after you." Alika frowns. "Happy, no, that isn't necessary!"
Happy blows a raspberry at him, giggling, and Alika gasps in dramatic mock-offense.
A tendril curls around Happy.
"No."
The king's word seems... pretty final.

MLB Draft tracker 2020: Live results, complete picks list for Rounds 1-5 in baseball draft
The Show must go on.
Not a single inning of professional baseball has yet to be played in 2020, and who knows when first pitch for the 2020 season might come. That doesn’t mean, though, that the 2020 MLB Draft is on hold.
This year’s draft was originally set to undergo some serious changes, the primary change heading from MLB Network Studios in Secaucus, N.J. to Omaha, Neb., just a few days before the start of the College World Series.
MORE MLB DRAFT 2020: Mock draft | Slot values | Pool money by team
Unfortunately, the coronavirus pandemic drastically altered plans for the 2020 and 2021 drafts. This year, the amount of rounds in the draft have been slashed from 40 to just five, with next year’s installment featuring just 20 rounds total. Between the coronavirus and the hacking of some minor league teams,
This year, Arizona State’s Spencer Torkelson is expected to go No. 1 overall to the Tigers, with Vanderbilt’s Austin Martin and Texas A&M’s Asa Lacy expected to round out the top three.
Sporting News will be tracking every pick from Wednesday night’s draft below. Follow below for up-to-the-minute updates and more from the 2020 MLB Draft.

There’s a new way to lightly mock straight men, and it involves an Instagram aesthetic common to them. “If you ever want to see what the world is like with no people in it, just look at a straight guy’s Instagram,” Lisa McIntire tweeted in July — an observation that was liked and retweeted more than 1,200 times. Writer Priya Alika Elias made a similar comment last month. “Every straight boy’s IG grid,” she says, comprises the following:
2 poorly lit photos of fast food in another city with the caption “Austin you were so good to the boy”
1 photo of the skyline with a single emoji
5 photos of streets, no humans visible
1 photo of them with someone else’s dog
The straight male Instagram aesthetic, these Twitter users argue, is characterized by eschewing people, warmth and emotionality in favor of cold, “arty” shots of inert objects, especially buildings. “No shade, but the straight boy Instagram where it’s just photos of city buildings at strange angles is pretty ubiquitous, right?” Aaron, a 30-year-old textile artist based in Australia, observed as early as August of last year. Comedian Catherine Cohen made a similar point recently, tweeting that “the only way to know someone is definitely straight is if they Instagram buildings.”

I swear your blog here is the only thing that makes me happy at the end of studying or a final. Can you do if you have time (of course, you after all have stuff to do too) a drabble or just an analysis if it's quicker if Tarzan or her children trying to drag her into something "childish." I imagine anything involved minimal hitting or "skill" like food fight or tickle fight or the Kings and Queens game you mentioned.
I’m really happy to hear that. I live for hearing my readers commenting and telling me that they enjoy my work.
“So this is... some form oftraining for war...?” La asked. “Teaching the little ones how tolead in battle, and work as a unified war party?”
Tarzan laughed. “It’s ajust a game, La! The children play it for fun.”
“And because I getto smack my friends in the face and not get in trouble for it!”Adana said, beaming.
“And I get to sit around ona chair, and no one gets mad at me for screaming in terror whensomeone catches me!” Alika added.
La frowned, looking at the“battlefield” before her: walls, towers, and “castles”constructed of soft foam with plastic supports, all spread out on themassive field that was dedicated to the local school’s PE classes, and the students’ outdoor recreation. She turned her head to theside, saw a “quartermaster” distributing ridiculous hats,“armour,” and “weapons” made of foam, sometimes with rubberammunition, and felt even iffier about this whole charade than shewas already.
“What is the point of mockfighting if you’re not even going to use proper training weapons?”La asked. “You know what? Nevermind, I don’t want to be a part ofthis.”
Adana and Alika frowned.“Aww, come on, mama! It’ll be fun!”
“For you, maybe,” Lahuffed. “I am an adult, I don’t involve myself in suchchildish things.”
“Daddy is playing with us,does that mean he’s not an adult?” Alika asked.
La did a double-take atTarzan. “Are you serious right now?”
Tarzan nodded. “We don’thave enough skilled players for an even match, one team needs anadvantage.”
La looked her husband up anddown, and mentally compared him with the tiny gradeschool childrenroaming around. “Forgive my ignorance, but did adults attackingchildren suddenly become legal?” she asked flatly.
“He won’t be fighting, mama,” Adana said. “He’ll be leading the other team as theirKing.”
“While I’ll be ruling ourside as our Queen!” Alika said, beaming. “You know, like how youwant me to be in the future!”
“Not in that respect,”La thought to herself. “Out of simple curiosity, which side iswhose?” she asked.
“The Jaguars are ours, theConquistadors are daddy’s,” Adana explained. “You can tell bythe hats.”
“Huh, so that’show Auradon is making a mockery of hunting and history today...” Lamumbled. “And just when I thought they couldn’t make it worse.”
“It’s all in good fun, mama,” Adana said. “Not everything has to be so serious.”
La was about to launch intoanother lecture, when the other kids started clamouring for them tobegin. Her family went off to go collect their hats and their props,Tarzan sitting at the chair in the “castle” of the Conquistadors,Alika on the “temple” opposite it, with Adana leading hervanguard.
La’s original plan was toleave and find something worthier of her time, but with her daughtershaving the lion’s share of stronger warriors, and Tarzan with thegreen-gilled weaklings, she found herself curious to see how thiswould play out, however asinine the whole thing was.
The “quartermaster”stepped up in the center of the field, “no man’s land” from thelack of cover, and the shooters on either sides’ border wallshaving clear shots, with the invading force having no easy means ofretaliating.
He raised up his “trumpet”(a megaphone with a banner featuring the game’s logo). “Are youall ready to go crash some castles?!”
Both sides raised theirweapons or scepters into the air. “Aye!”
“Then Royals, get ready torum-bllleeee!”
The quartermaster ducked outof the way, and the two sides clashed.
La had to admit, it wasinteresting to watch, the “monarchs” of either side the only oneswith clear vision of the battlefield and what was going on at anygiven moment, their warriors either left to their own devices, orawaiting orders given through their “smartphones” with the helpof an “app” so the enemy wouldn’t overhear orders being shoutedover.
Tarzan’s troops cowered, not helped by the fact that some of them had too large helmets andcouldn’t even see properly, let alone defend themselves. Meanwhile,Alika and Adana’s army were confident as could be, roaring like thenamesake of their helmets and charging on to the other side.
La turned around and preparedto leave again—it was going to be a massacre.
But the victims weren’t theones she expected.
Almost immediately, La whatthey meant by one side having an “advantage”: Alika’s troopswere like stampeding rhinos, blindly rushing into combat, Adana theonly one consistently listening to her sister’s orders and tactics. And while Tarzan’s warriors certainly weren’t excellent by anymeans, they did exactly as they were told, and worked well together.
The Conquistadors werehopeless in a battle against a Jaguar, even with the advantage ofnumbers; if they weren’t counted out after getting certaincomponents of your armour and/or your hat knocked off, and this was areal war, La had no doubt they would have ended up as badly brokenand bleeding on the ground, or just messy, red and pink smears.
But the objective of the gamewasn’t to take out all of your opponent’s army, it was to reachtheir monarch, by reaching the “flags” that’d open the way totheir respective “throne rooms.”
And the Conquistadors weredoing a fine job at that.
Almost all of them gotslaughtered, either as distractions or victims of their ownincompetence and vastly capable foes. But they only needed one tomake it to the enemy’s monarch, and one did, Alika yelping andsurrendering her scepter immediately.
It wouldn’t have been ashumiliating a defeat if the Conquistador didn’t get winded and fallover right in front of her feet.
Congratulations were given, shoulders were shrugged and blame was given, water was passed out anda short break was taken, before they were back at it again foranother round.
La didn’t know what reasoncompelled her to stick around, sit down and watch as her daughterswere consistently outsmarted and defeated by someone who actuallyknew how to control his troops, but by the start of the second “war”she was hooked, and with the Jaguars’ second loss she was stormingup to the participants.
Whichever their side, all ofthem cowered or got nervous, save for Alika, Adana, and Tarzan, whowere only curious and amused to see her.
“Something wrong, La?”Tarzan asked.
“Yes: this whole charade!”La said. “Do you call this evenly matched foes? Is this ‘fair,’like Auradon is supposed to be for everyone? It’s obvious one sidehas the overwhelming advantage here, and I demand an adjustment tothe rules to make it fair.”
The next fifteen minutes werespent in intense discussion about the effective strength of an army, the value of a single given warrior compared to another, and how therules and the limitations of the game would affect that.
The next five were spentshuffling the rosters, warriors switching sides, trading hats, andweapons according to their new allegiance and strategies.
And the next five were spentin another “brutal” war, Tarzan seated at the “castle” asbefore, but with La at the top of the “temple,” Alika in her lapand helping translate all the dots and symbols on her phone intoinformation she needed for tactical decisions.
This battle was not nearly aslopsided as before—soldiers would clash with equals from the otherside, infiltrators covertly breaching the walls ran into guardsactively hunting them down, all while their leaders furrowed theirbrows, making decisions in the heat of the moment, constantlythinking and rethinking plans as battles played out, predictions wereproven wrong, and one side’s upset was the other’s opportunity.
And in the end, the Jaguarswere victorious, with Adana jumping over Tarzan’s guard instead ofengaging her like he expected, rushing to her father thrusting her“spear” into his chest.
Cheers erupted from thebattlefield, hats were taken off, hands were shaken as the soldiersall walked away as one, finally exhausted after having had their fillof recreation.
“I thought you weren’tgoing to be a part of this?” Tarzan asked as he rejoined hisfamily.
La smirked. “What? Am I notallowed to change my mind and admit I was wrong...?”
Alika brightened up. “Doesthis mean you’re going to play Kings and Queens with us from nowon?!”
“Only if I get to teach youtwo how to really lead your warriors to victory, little ones,” Lareplied.
This wasn’t how La imaginedshe would be training her successors for war, when inevitably, someone grew jealous enough of their power to want to take it byforce. But she supposed a whole lot of her other plans had gottenderailed, and things still turned out well in the end—better, even—so this new asinine facsimile of combat wasn’t that big of adeal.
Besides, there was no waywere her daughters ever going to be on the losing side if shecould help it.

Dolphins double up on offensive talent in Round 1, select Najee Harris at No. 18
Tumblr media
Should this happen in real life, it’ll be an Alabama reunion for Harris and Tua Tagovailoa.
If the Dolphins’ plan this offseason is to build around quarterback Tua Tagovailoa (and I think it is), drafting an #elite talent like Kyle Pitts with the sixth overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft seems like a no brainer.
But why stop there?
Sure, a defensive-minded head coach like Brian Flores may pound the table for a pass-rusher or defensive back at No. 18. And I’m sure there will be a bunch of viable candidates when Chris Grier and Brian Flores are on the clock. But this isn’t about Grier and Flores. Kevin Nogle calls the shots in this mock draft.
And he has the Dolphins making a pick that would surprise no one.
With the 18th pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, the Miami Dolphins select...
Najee Harris, Running Back, Alabama
Height: 6’2 Weight: 230 pounds Hometown: Martinez, California 2020 Stats: 251 carries, 1,466 yards, 26 touchdowns. 43 receptions, 425 yards, 4 touchdowns.

— josh houtz (@houtz) April 15, 2021
NOGLE:
I really considered looking linebacker or edge rusher here, and that could very easily be the move Miami makes. In most of my projections, I have the Dolphins looking toward Javonte Williams as their running back pick later in the draft, but I feel like, the way this board has fallen, Harris makes sense here.
Miami now has added weapons both in the passing game with Kyle Pitts at pick No. 6 and in the backfield here with Harris. If Miami can add a top-end running game to a passing attack that should be pretty good with DeVante Parker, Will Fuller, Preston Williams, Jakeem Grant, Mike Gesicki, and Pitts, they will have all the pieces in place for Tua Tagovailoa to succeed.
I would be looking for edge and offensive line picks in the second round for the Dolphins. Do not be surprised if Miami double-dips on receiving options though, with a slot receiver still a possibility (I’m looking at you Kadarius Toney, should you fall).
ANALYSIS:
Selecting Kyle Pitts at No. 6 was much easier than figuring out what Kevin Nogle and the Miami Dolphins should do at No. 18. After all, the team could go in several different directions, on both sides of the football.
Defensively, Miami could use a dominant EDGE rusher like Kwity Paye or a versatile linebacker like Zaven Collins. Both players could be defined as the missing piece in Brian Flores’ defense.
On offense, Kevin could choose to solidify Miami’s offensive line by adding Tevin Jenkins or another dominant big man upfront. And depending on how the board falls, would it be crazy to think the Dolphins could draft a wide receiver—if the right player were to come available? Never say never.
But when all is done and the dust settles, I look back at last year’s mishap of the running back position and agree with Kevin’s decision to no longer leave things up to chance. The top running back in this year’s class has a history with Tua Tagovailoa, and his skill set matches everything the Dolphins are looking for at the position.
youtube
Harris returned to school in 2020 not because he had to, but because he wanted to prove to the world that he was much more than a one-dimensional running back. He wanted to prove he could make his presence felt in the passing game—not only as a pass catcher but a suitable pass protector as well. He did just that.
The last time the Miami Dolphins used a first-round draft pick on a running back was 2005, when the team selected Ronnie Brown with the second-overall pick. This came after veteran running back Ricky Williams retired from the sport.
Speaking of Ricky Williams, there’s no need to sugarcoat things. Najee Harris would be the most talented running back the Dolphins have had since the dreaded one himself. And adding him to a backfield that consists of Myles Gaskin (who averaged over 4 yards per carry in 2020), Salvin Ahmed, Malcolm Brown, and the rest of Miami’s backfield—the fanbase may finally get the backfield they desire.
There will be plenty of talent available when the Dolphins are on the clock at No. 18. But no one would be upset if Miami got their game-changing running back at No. 18.
Run, Najee Harris, run.
Top five remaining players
Caleb Farley, CB, Virginia
Zaven Collins, LB, Tulsa
Tevin Jenkins, OT, Oklahoma State
Kwity Paye, DE, Michigan
Rashod Bateman, WR, Minnesota
