Back to Nature - I am on my way
I was a fool teenager. I used the body soap for my face when I was in 6th grade, as I always do since I was born (perhaps). No special treatment for face. Until one day, i felt my skin face was dry. Then one of my friend who is one year older than me telling me about Ponds product. So i tried. But it effected differently on me. I got comedos on my nose, a lot. Then I stopped.
Then I moved to Clean and Clear product. It was oily but seemed tolerable enough for me. So yeah was good. But the comedos were still there.
Then I was in my 8th grade, i had pimples on my face. My hands tried to rid off the pimples which happened i touched my face often. I harshly pull the pimples off. Then...i got more problems about pimples.
Parents told me the traditional way. I followed the suggestion. I used the turmeric and rice-powder. Amazing. The effects were good, the pimples dissappeared, slowly but sure. But there was a mistake i made..every time after the treatments, i used hot water to clean the face. Is it good? At that time (as I had less knowledge) yeah i thought it was good. Years later... I felt guilty, I shouldn't did that, because the result is...I got big pores.
Then...when I was in 9th grade, the Clean n Clear was not good for me anymore. I tried a facial-soap, name JF Sulfur until I was in 10th grade.
Then I was in 11th grade I knew about skin care things, name it....Microdermabrasion. I also knew about the day cream and night cream. Then I knew a natural face-soap made from honey. Then I started to use them as the doctor's skin care products. My skin was totally better. Bright, clean, no pimples, and feeling healthy. I used the day cream once in a day and somehow it was washed by water because I took wudhu.
Then two years later, when I was in my first year in College, I used the day cream more often. Then I saw the difference skin colours between my face and my neck. I didn't think the products were good anymore. I slowly change the habit. I stopped to use the night cream, i reduced the use of day cream. But I kept to use the Honey Soap since it is truly natural.
FYI, when I was in college I started to use the lip balm because my lips went dry often in the new place. I also started to use Maybelline Compact Powder occasionally.
Then finally, I stopped from the all the doctor's product (day cream, night cream also the Honey Soap) because i distrust the ingredients safety and it was too far from my place.
Then I tried the Body Shop products (non animal tested). The Tea Tree facial wash. As a daily skin things, i washed my face using that tea tree and after that i use nothing or occasionally I used the Compact Powder. Those happened when I was in my second year of college. Then suddenly new things went wrong ...comedos...dry skin. Bad. I didn't think tea tree is good on me.
Then on my third year in college I went to a place name Wijaya Skin Care. Things went normal? Yeah, I guess, at that time. I could see my face skin tone better, the comedos also disappeared, i had no problems with the products too. But, then, I knew, I was dependable with the products and treatment. The prove? If I stopped them...there were pimples and dry skin. Also the doctors always change, or perhaps because I dont really regularly going there at the same time. And...the bad is...I thought the facial made my face looked different, idk perhaps just me feeling it. Then I felt perhaps i slowly not 'whiter' anymore, but....i didnt think i got my face skin tone yet. So, I stopped. Bad things happened? Yeah, i got dry skin. I stopped for months. I wore nothing on my face. Whenever I felt dry i just washed my face with the water as a wudhu.
Then...I had another challenges. I was graduated, I started to work, i moved to a big city means more pollution, while I wore nothing on my face, not even lip balm because I dont really remember when i stopped to use lip balm.
So, I got a very dry skin. Perhaps because i was in AC's room in office. I slowly had pimples. Until I realized, my bad was.... not wearing a mask (surgical mask things) during my way in public transportation where the pollutions are anywhere. So....i tried to find a mass-product (not exclusively from doctor's or skin care place productions) to solve my problem. Then, voila, rather than a solution, the choice was another mistake. I tried several products, name it from the affordable halal version to the expensive products....name it Wardah, Mazaya, and Ultima II....then i got worse skin. Perhaps...they just dont belong to me.
I tried them for a month. Then I stopped to used them for almost a year. I let my face free from any chemicals. I kept my face clean from my fingers and washed it by water only before and after sleep. I fixed my eating and sleeping habit. I wore the mask every day outside my house. Then during that year, my mom was totally angry to me, how could i not cure that things. So, finally I gave up by my own. I thought it was the right time. Naturally I got better condition, but not good yet, so it was the time to go to the expert.
So I looked for the dermatologist. I went to a hospital, searched the background of the doctors and guessing which doctor is good for me and decided. Hamdalah, I met a good doctor. How could i know? At that time, she said "sure, we have to handle the bacterias first, then oil on the skin, then the pimples, the spots, and you can wear just powder or sun block for daily life". Her goal is to make me put a sun block only. I felt she knew me well.
Then I started the process. I spent my sallary during the process. Then during the treatment, 8 months, i saw the differences. Finally, I got my true skin tone on my face. The pimples and oily skin dissappeared. I am happy because of that also....because  finally I find a face-soap that works well on me which i could purchase it anywhere in drugstore, name Sebamed Baby face. But i dependable with the cream, i know it. So I slowly not to use them. I've already stopped the night cream but until couple months ago I still used the day cream.
Then since months ago... I started to use local-vegan-natural-products that work well on me. I did some researches. I found about Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) and Apple Vinegar. Then I tried them, in trial and error. Until nowadays they are my favorite. I finally found the right formula and the right usage of them on me. I am happy to know more about myself (skin) and another new knowledges.
So the Apple Vinegar is not Bragg as lots of beauty vlogger-youtuber-name it suggest. It is something local so I can find it more easily anywhere. It is 'Tahesta'. Actually, I ve known it before but for digesting, not to put it on skin. But then I tried in on my face skin. At the first, I followed the rules, i mean Water and Apple Vinegar in a non glass bottle with the comparison. The first reaction, my face felt itchy and sore for seconds but then fine, and feeling dry. I used it as a toner. I used it 3 times a day. Then in around 5 days the smell in the bottle was bad, I thought about the sterile things, so i throw that formula and not use it anymore.
Then I tried the Coconut Oil (VCO) which is local. As my field research, it is the only VCO I could find in some drugstores. It is tested by one of best campus in this country, UGM, so I trust the quality. First, i tried just the oil on the cotton, put on my face for hours then washed it by my soap. It felt moisturize but little dry. For days I analyzed it. Then... I mix water and VCO in small glass bottle and not washed it after using it. It was better. No dry. Very moisturize. There is a cold sensation when I wash face with water only for wudhu. But my face seems oily. Then...the next try, i guess it was a better way to use. I put cotton on the upper oil bottle, just like a fast-pour and pushed the cotton on the side of upper oil bottle to reduce the oil on the cotton, until it feels a little dry, i pour a little water on the cotton, i fold the cotton so the oil and the water could mix perfectly, and push the cotton to reduce to water and oil until i think it is not too oily or not too watery. Then I put it on my face. I let it as a day cream :) I wore it for weaks. I was happy about it. But...I came to a worry, because later I found there is no enough SPF on it. So now I am trying a product of sunblock, Sebamed SPF 50. Well, I hope it goes well. The first time I put the compact powder after the sunblock, then i got pimples right now in some spots. For sure, compact powder is not for me. So these days I am resting my face from anything.
Then back about the Apple Vinegar, i finally found the right formula, as now. I pour the vinegar on cotton and push it to reduce the vinegar until i get a right amount. Then I put it on my face, such a toner. Then I pour the water on cotton, push it, and put it. So I got the perfect formula. It doesnt feel dry anymore, or itchy or sore. If it does, it happenes only on pimples for just in seconds. Now, I used the vinegar and Sebamed facial soap only.
well....i am being in trial and error to find the right way about 'when' to use both of them or one of them, which one is better for cleansing the face or as a toner, which one is moisturize better etc. For sure, they are work on me well. VCO and Apple Vinegar. Not something in instance. But I love them.
Less not-natural-chemical-materials, my skin is getting better feeling healthier.
oh well, I am researching new things too these days, about...vegan, cruelty free, halal products. But I know, I cant buy those things yet, since it is not affordable yet for my pocket now. I am not working now :) So, i will continue to use my vegan-local-product and of course when i have money i will go for dermatologist treatment again.
However healthy habit in a polluted city is also about money, because should be more careful and aware. But it is not the only thing and way.
Read more, try more.
