#I just#Gale starts this fic out extremely depressed and isolated and about to kill himself and he will die for nothing. He's never had real friend#And then he meets the bg3 crew and they make him feel at home and he takes Wyll to space and he feels like a kid again#a HAPPY kid.#he experiences so much and sees so much - and he finds he has purpose and meaning#and then he DOES fucking kill himself at the end and it breaks Wyll's fucking heart but here's the thing okay#he still experienced a lot of growth and good things and community and love. he got to have that. even though his life was cut short#he saved the world - but it's a tragedy all things considered. a preventable tragedy#it's really fucking bittersweet bc he gains so much before he loses everything#but that doesn't make it less meaningful. he died but he died knowing he was loved 😭#idk that's the shit i want to evoke with this fic 😭#suicide cw#SORRY FOR TOOTING MY OWN HORN I JUST.
