Ugh today was brutal. It touched 90 degrees F, but at least it wasn't humid. I don't have my A/C window unit in yet and I didn't push to get it in. It's only hot today and tomorrow then it goes down to 65. Plus the temp will go to down to 65 overnight and I have a strong fan. No reason to block one of my windows just yet.
I have learned though to keep my room cool, to just not open the windows or curtains. My house is brick so it can hold in the cold air well. My room only got to 82 by the end of the day. It says 81 now but I can feel the air is cooler outside, and it's reading 75 outside. Now is the time to open the windows and by the time I go to bed I bet my room will be in the low 70s.
I managed to get my plants watered and played with the dog. Luckily if my dog won't drink I can give him ice cubes to help make sure he stays cool and hydrated. He's a black dog so that's super important because they absorb the sun more than lighter colors. So I just took the cubes out of my own drink every so often. I also made myself a smoothie. I haven't been able eat much, I usually can't when the first heat of the year comes.
It sucks because I know many people hate heat, but I also have heat intolerance from multiple medications. I have to be careful. I make sure to stay hydrated and limit my time in the sun. If I have to run an errand I try to do it early or late, never midday.
Also the best thing I ever got was a portable neck fan to keep my face cool. It's makes such a difference and is super handy in a blackout because it's chargeable. I didn't have it earlier but I just dug it out to charge it now for tomorrow.
At least after tomorrow it's a weekend of 60s and a week of 70s. Some nice weather before the oppressive summer 80s and 90s become the norm. I personally find anything above 75F to be too hot, especially with humidity. It's been weird how dry we have been, but I'm sure it won't last.

Rumpelstiltskin, Rapunzel, sleeping beauty
send the mun an ask!
Sleeping Beauty: How many hours do you sleep each night?
Not enough to too much, 4ish-10ish hours
Rapunzel: Do you like being outside?
Depends, really. I like being out in the sun even though I cannot for the life of me stand hot (anything above 75F/24C is too hot, I think my body has issues regulating my temperature cause of a few weird things that I can talk about later). Windy days are among my favorite days to just walk about. I’m also more than content to hole up in my room.
Rumpelstiltskin: What is the meaning of your url?
So in the first AOS movie, Bones says “All I’ve got left is my bones.” So rather than directly quote it, I paraphrased (at the time I thought it would be too cliche to directly quote it---that and it’d be a hellishly long url otherwise)
