Enter Ares T.A. Redwood, The Snake Eater. My oldest muse and my best creation.  He’s my flagship muse, my first character for Fallout.

Ares ( in his current iteration ) is someone who suffered the human failures of history. He was there around the time America went insane. He was there when the Great War took the globe and burned the old world to a cinder. He was there for everything, one way or another, sometimes the observer and sometimes the participant. Being a ghoul affords him this longevity.

Yet, through it all, Ares survives. What’s more, his survival is marked with the killing of warlords, raider chieftains and cruel authoritarians. Through it all, he keeps his code of conduct, that evil begets killing. That A is A, that the laws of identity cannot change for anyone or anything. Evil is Evil, thusly, deserving of death. Redwood does not fight for laws, but for justice. He shares his morality with characters like The Shadow, Mr. A, and Solomon Kane.

Redwood, however, is a man struggling against fate. Despite his efforts, violence always finds him. He wants to be left alone, but the world keeps seeking him out. One way, or another, Redwood finds himself in the blood and mud of war. He fears he'll become nothing more than just violence. That all his humanity will eventually burn away.

On the surface, Redwood comes across as a cruel, pragmatic warrior. One who doesn’t win any popularity awards, or friends. But, beyond that he’s idealistic, kind even when needed. He’s a good man, who often thinks he’s the worst.

That’s Ares, that’s the man I always wanted to write. At the start, it was pretty rough. I wasn’t a good writer, thus, Ares suffered for it. But now, he’s grown alongside my writing skills. It can only get better.

{{ After some thought and debate, I’m going to archive this blog. The current threads here will be continued until finished. After that, a new blog shall be created for Redwood. Over the years, I’ve haven’t been so consistent with Redwood’s lore. Being my oldest character, Redwood has mountains of lore and head-canons. Overtime, it has grown difficult, to keep everything consistent and coherent. I believe rebooting Ares, should clear up these issues. }}

{{ Back in 2011,I role-played someone named Kill-Roy. Kill-Roy unfortunately, wasn’t wellwritten. He lacked nuanced, including anything good. Nonetheless - , Kill-Roy was my character. }}

{{ Kill-Roy originatedfrom Virginia. He served underneath a warlord, who ruled over a small empire. Kill-Roydecided to desert this warlord. This decision was the first step, in hisadventure across America. Of course, others accompanied Kill-Roy. They traveledon-board a restored M4 Sherman. Eventually they arrived in the Mojave, where shenanigansensued {they didn’t}. }}

Eventually Ares T.A.Redwood was created, which became successful. I retired Kill-Roy then mostlyforgot about him. Even though, Kill-Roy was poorly written, overpowered and aGary Stu. I still carry some nostalgic love for him. }}

Honestly I’ve considered on giving Redwood a pet. I think I found the perfect pet for him.

Headcanons about Ares.

{{ Throughout the mid-2240s and early-2250s, Ares was contracted by The NCR, to hunt down escaped Enclave war criminals. }}

{{ Ares was once a member of Set’s elite guard. }}

{{ Ares was captured by The Enclave once, after he uncovered an advanced listening device. Taken to Camp Navarro, Ares was “experimented” on and tortured for information. Luckily, Ares managed to escape the compound. The Enclave however, pursued Ares. Through trickery and violence, Ares managed to slaughter his pursuers. }}

Fun Fact.

Although strong, Redwood’s post-human nature has caused some difficulties. Wanting to stay ahead, Redwood purchased these implants, enhancing prowess for combat. Though, Redwood later regretted the implants. In his thoughts, Redwood believed he sacrificed parts of his humanity. He threw away flaws, which reminded him of his humanity.  }}
