He pointed at the vip boxes, the other one next to where Ye-Min’s parents were. Flynn nodded, he had been in on the planning for all this, it simply meant, apart from Chris who was working, everyone in the family was here to witness what might be their first win.

Flynn: I see someone waving for you, good luck now, both of you.

A round of hugs later, they watched as the two made their way to their coach, to start preparing for the short program, which was as always, the first real indicator of how things would go. While they were preparing, the family found their seats, chatting and talking between them.

Liam: Isn’t that…

He stopped, as the person they had seen for just a few seconds vanished. For just a minute they had thought it was Amuary, but they had walked out too soon for him to see properly, but he had noted what he thought was a police uniform.

Liam: Never mind, it was nothing after all.

The New Sounds (2/21)

In 1890-91, a middle-aged French guy did a series paintings depicting haystacks that he saw near his home in Giverny, a little ways north and west of Paris. Some of them were in winter (see above); all of them were intentionally blurry.

In 2020-21, a middle-aged American guy, who was an exchange student in France during high school, did a series of playlists documenting recently-released songs that he heard in/near his home in Valparaiso, Indiana, a little ways south and east of Chicago. Some of them were in winter (see below); all of them were unintentionally blurry, due (mostly) to their length and something called covid.

Monet was 51 then. I’m 51 now. His medium was oil on canvas. Mine is Spotify. Basically, same. It’s safe to say that we’re both equally famous in our chosen fields. And we both appreciate Blur.

Rylan: Uncle Fan!

Everyone noticed the white haired man smiling at them. Flynn had told him about this day, but to see him here put a huge smile on his face. He simply had not expected it.

Fannar: Now I missed last year, I am not missing this year. Libby: Us too! -they smiled and pointed at Izzy who was also standing there.- We are all here to see you win!

Emil lifted an eyebrow, they had been told about the change in Libby, but this was the first time they saw the much more masculine frame they now had.

Rylan: Hopefully, yes. Tyvan: Meh, he is just being modest - they wink- do you guys have a seat close to us? Fannar: We do, while Lucas and your uncle is up there with Arlo, as this would be too much for him to sit close to, but he wanted to come.

A dance just for us 🎶

Rylan: After we change!  Emil: Yes, now come along. 

They smile, taking the two with them for a change of clothing, letting Flynn relax a little, as they know he will soon be helping Arlo and Fannar come and have a bit of time with just them before they head to the wedding location. 

Tyvan: Uncle fan!

It was some hours and chickens were fed later that Fannar and Arlo sat in their living room. Rylan is already sitting next to Arlo having asked if he would read his favorite book for him. It was one thing both Fannar and Flynn had noticed, that Arlo was surprisingly good with the little ones. Fannar picked up Tyvan into his lap, gently booping his nose.

Fannar: And what do you want? Tyvan: Hug, please!

Fannar just chuckled, and hugged Tyvan. They knew their twin and Emil had taught both kids to not just run and hug their uncles, but to ask first with of course a proper explanation as to why. It was something they really appreciated, both for themselves and for Arlo.

Everyone had noticed how close Rylan was to his grandfather, so whenever Chris was around, they knew where to find him.

After some time when cake, cookies and other tasty treats had been eaten, and most all the kids were sitting with Arlo who was reading a story, their attention was taken by Flynn declaring it would be time to open presents, before Fan and Arlo had to leave. Flynn had also learned to spot when Arlo was close to being too tired, so noticing the subtle signs, he whispered to Fan to go ahead.

Tyvan: Oh! Fannar: Your dad might have mentioned you like to read. Tyvan: It’s perfect!! Rylan: This is too! Arlo: You like to draw right? Rylan: Yes! I’ll draw you one if you want? Arlo: I’d like that. Rylan: I’ll even give you a pirate hat and a hook!

After a little talk, Arlo and Fannar, and their little ones headed back, Vy deciding to go with them, while Hayden stayed with the rest of them as more presents were opened, and Vy returned assuring them all that it was all good on the other side. One long evening later, Flynn and Emil sat on their bed, after having read both their little ones to sleep.

Vy just smiled, Tyvan pulling on their hand about something.

Vy: You proved yourself, but.. Emil: You will always keep an eye on me, thank you for that.

Vy nodded, letting Tyvan show him for the millionth time the two rings that were in their boxes, one for each of the twins to carry. The pillows lying next to the boxes after Rylan had moved them there so they were close by. The rings they had found at a local small goldsmith in their home-town, fairly simple gold ones, but Emil’s had a little extra bling.

Yvreon: Ready? Emil: I believe so, yes. 

They took one last look in the mirror, as Hayle joined them with a nod as Emil had asked if they would walk down the aisle with him. There had always been something with Hayle he found to feel good and right somehow. 

Hayle: Something wrong? Emil: No.. nothing. I just.. Vy: Remembered you once wanted this with someone else?

I checked after I picked my songs, what Mahv picked when they did theirs for these two, and to no real susprise, two songs are the same. I mean we do talk songs a lot, so I am not surprised at all.  Why they are a comfort couple for me, well because they go through so much crap, but in the end, they find their own happily ever after.

Flynn: Still sure it will be okay? We have an extra room for the kids to play in, I am sure Arlo could use it if he wants to get away a little as well. All the kids love him after all.

Fannar: Yeah, I think that would be good, the little ones are a good distraction. I mean, Ry already has his uncle Arlo engaged. -he chuckles as Arlo is telling Rylan the story both pointing and giggling at the same time- I’m glad we are here. Flynn: I am too. Dad will be here soon with Lucas and Liam, and then we're good to go. Tyvan: I happy you here too!

Tyvan and Fan had almost an instant connection when they first met, much like Rylan had one with Arlo. It was like Rylan understood what Arlo liked and needed more than Ty did, while Ty instantly won Fan’s heart. 

Another story and more guests later, they were all ready to head to where the wedding would be held. Flynn had been busy with Meadow for the flowers, and he had asked Emil not to come with him so they could be surprised. 

Emil: Oh wow! Flynn: Tyvan said you wanted gold flowers - they smiled- they're not gold, but at least golden. Emil: I love it!

December 23rd: 🎶

Coming inside a comfortable warmth hit them, letting them hang away their thicker outside clothing. Just like earlier, Arlo noted that there was almost no one there. They noticed two pepole they asumed worked here, other han that, the market was empty.

Arlo: The tree? Fannar: Yes, remember, I told you about the tree with the gifts? Arlo: Yes, I remember. -they smiled at their beloved dragon, then their eyes fell on the little ones who were already looking at the notes as well.- We pick one, and grant a wish, yes? Fananr: Yes. and Issy and Isa get’s to pick one each, and find something. Isagel: This one?

They took the note from their little one, reading it, before telling them what they would need to look for. Then of course they found one they could do together.

Arlo: This feels, nice. Fannar: It is nice to do something for someone else. Arlo: You do that every day, you do it for me. Fannar: This is a little different though.

After putting wrapped presents under the tree, they all picked out a treat to enjoy, Fannar noticing that Arlo was disconnecting a little, and zoning out a bit more. Simply he was getting tired. Libidel: Uncle Fynn! Pointing eagerly from their parents arms towards Flynn who stood waiting for them at the small concert area, where Emil, River and Lucas was as well. Letting their little ones run to their uncles, and greet them, Fannar gently led Arlo to the couch, sitting him down so they could relax. As Lucas started playing, their little ones came to sit and watch and listen on the floor close to them. 

Arlo: You did all this for me? -Lucas’s music was relaxing, calm, all his slightly frayed nerves needed.- Its not supposed to be open, is it? Fannar: I did all this for us, so we could go as well. -he smiled, wrapping an arm around Arlo. - Because I love you and I wanted to share this with you.

Arlo sighed happily, just leaning against his angel-lilly, watching his little ones enjoy the music, that odd feeling of family and happiness once more filling  his heart.

Although there are very big differences between these two couples, there are also some very true similarities.
