🌍✨ Today, we recognize #WorldAsthmaDay, a global initiative to raise awareness about asthma, its challenges, and ways to manage it. Let's come together to support those affected by asthma, spread knowledge about triggers, and advocate for better access to treatment and care. Together, we can breathe easier and create a world where asthma no longer holds anyone back.
World Asthma Day is an annual event that takes place on the first Tuesday of May every year. The day is organized by the Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA) in collaboration with healthcare professionals and asthma educators around the world. The aim of World Asthma Day is to raise awareness about asthma, a chronic respiratory disease that affects millions of people worldwide.
On this day, various activities are organized to educate people about asthma, its causes, symptoms, and ways to manage it. The theme of World Asthma Day may vary each year, but the focus is always on promoting asthma control and reducing the burden of asthma on individuals and society.
World Asthma Day: Asthma causes inflammation in the airways and narrows them making it difficult to breathe. It triggers coughing, wheezing and shortness of breath.
This year, 2023, the World Asthma Day theme given by Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA) is "Asthma Care for All," which advocates the growth of accessibility and availability of high-quality medical care for all.

https://www.abc.net.au/radio/programs/pm/asthmatics-suffer-through-dangerous-conditions/101635888 Listen to the story here. I'm an asthma Australia champion. I have severe asthma and I am suffering due to climate change, weather events outside of my control and an immune system so sensitive to the environment being altered as we speak. If you have asthma, allergies, or know someone who is, then they are experiencing the same thing too. Maybe it's mild today. But allergies ALWAYS get worse with every exposure. So maybe tomorrow they won't be mild. #climatechange #climatevictim #climate #asthmaissues #asthmaeducation #asthmaambassador #allergicdisease #allergyawareness #allergy #allergies #asthmaisnojoke #asthmaaustralia #asthmawarrior #anaphylaxis #anaphalaxisawareness #grasspollen #grassallergy #allergiessuck #allergiesgotmelike #allergyseason #climatecrisis #climateaction #brokenclimate #climatehealth #environmentaljustice (at Ngunnawal Country) https://www.instagram.com/p/Cku9XcYSn-D/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
Happy Saturday Insta Family 💜 I'm on #Day6 of #selfisolation. I still feel gross, night times are the worst. My breathing worsens, couple that with the cough and it makes it practically impossible to get a full night's sleep. In short I am exhausted. I'm trying to sleep in the day to recoup my losses and I'm hoping I'm over the worst of it but I still have another week of meds to go. Hope you're all staying safe and well. If you need a friend I am here...albeit not much functional use but I'm here if you need someone to talk to :) #asthmaawareness #asthma #livingwithasthma #asthmawarrior #isolation #staysafe #staywell #isolationdiaries #lockdown (at Surrey) https://www.instagram.com/p/B9_czs-JXSd/?igshid=giltnzktidba
Don’t take things for granted, keep pushing even when your not feeling your best or things are not working out how you’d like. • This time of year I struggle to breathe. Little things like walking to the car are difficult and I get that tight feeling in my chest. • So working out has been impossible. I finally tried today. It was a struggle... I moved slow... my chest was tight.... my lungs were on fire... but I finished a 20 min modified workout. I grateful for every breath I take, even if it’s a struggle. • #everybreathcounts #asthmawarrior #gratefulthankful #springistryingtokillme #justtryingtobreatheoverhere https://www.instagram.com/p/BxhSzttFRnz/?igshid=a1hz65ai3o0d
