This blockade looked more like a community gate with a tollbooth attached to it than an international border between disputed states.

The guard's eyes, curious yet suspicious, kept following us as we closed in but none stopped us. No one asked for papers, no questions, nothing. The gates opened up and we just put our foot across the border and entered occupied Kashmir.

"Well, I guess they could tell we were Indians and we were no threat to anyone so they let us by", I said. "I guess..." Rajesh shrugged, zipping his leather jacket up.

We were in enemy territory. But what could go wrong? We were just people, passing by. Trespassing. The road on this side looked very similar and dampened by the same clouds.

It didn't look or feel any different on this side. The road, the trees on the side, the footpath, people walking by, their clothes all had a stark resemblance to Indian style. Of course, we were one, once. Political mess aside, people are just people everywhere, I think.

"Indians? Where are your papers? Show us the passport. Who gave you permission? Papers dikha." They were getting unfriendly. I got more and more nervous and tried to answer as calmly and politely as I could. "They let us pass by without papers from the Indian side sir. And we asked an old man... he said it's fine."

"Oh.. Is that so....? Is that how you think things work around here? Do you think we are assholes to let you pass by just like that? Haha listen to these people", another guard questioned. They all laughed at us.

He got out of the gate and started the bike. This vehicle looked like an avengers bike but a bit longer than the original. And as soon as he got on it, he couldn't touch the ground with his feet. In fact, he appeared as if a child was sitting on a merry-go-round.

This was beyond weird.

Every one of my limbs was taken and held strongly by someone. I tried to crawl back into the security room but that hardly helped. And as if out of nowhere, from behind one of the guards, a girl who appeared in her late 20s came to me, grinning the same way as others, and reluctantly squeezed my butt in, laughed aloud, and went back to her place. Even you!!? Now I knew for sure. They were going to rape me. And it won't be just any kind of rape. This was going to be diabolical.

At that moment I heard, "You! What are you doing here?"

Everyone stopped what they were doing and turned towards the voice. A few steps from the gate on the road a woman in a saree stood looking towards me. I didn't know who she was. Then the guard who claimed he's Indian and Italian as well, got up and said "Mom?", puzzled and surprised.

"How do you know him? How do you know her?", he got angrier and pulled me up by the collar. "I... she...?..." I couldn't really tell. That lady didn't say anything either. She appeared to be scared to say anything. He became furious and pushed me hard to the ground, grabbed a rifle from another guard, and pointed it at me.

"Whatever you thought we were gonna do to you before, I promise you it's going to be much much worse. I'm going to show you fucking hell. So, I'm asking you one last time you fuck, How the fuck do you know my mother?"

Terrified, unable to think, and trying to imagine everything that could be "much much worse", I took another look at the woman. Yes Yes, it's her! It's a different saree. I couldn't really recognize her earlier because of all the changes, and the fact that I was being molested by about 6 crazy Pakistanis.
