Cinnamon and Poppyseed Rolls
Cinnamon and Poppyseed Rolls
I was craving home baked dessert and ever since the Classic German Baking book, I am eager to make some traditional poppy seed cakes. However, I still need to organise a good grinder for the poppy seeds. Until such time, and because I had discovered the below tin in a Polish supermarket, I wanted to try and make some form of poppy seed pastry.

Nussecken - Classic German Baking
Nussecken – Classic German Baking

Minnie Mouse Chocolate Cake
Minnie Mouse Chocolate Cake
It was my colleague’s leaving lunch and I was volunteering to make a cake. It is usually the both of us that bring in cakes and bakes for work, so I wanted to make sure to bring in something she loves. She wanted a salted caramel and chocolate cake. She also likes Minnie Mouse so I thought I could use my half spheres to make a Minnie Mouse shaped cake.

Zimtbrezeln - Classic German Baking
Zimtbrezeln – Classic German Baking
Last summer we read My Berlin Kitchen by Luisa Weiss after our amazing trip to Berlin. The book featured a few recipes which we successfully tried out, such as Pflaumenmus (spiced plum jam) and Berliner Pfannkuchen (doughnuts filled with plum jam). The stories and recipes in her book reminded me of my own childhood in Berlin.
For my birthday, my girlfriend gave me Classic German Baking which…
