Straight from our Thursday graveyard shift at work my friends/officemates (IHG) went to DSWD-NROC at NAIA Chapel Road as volunteers. For first timers, there's an orientation for 'em. We were told bout do's and dont's on how to repack relief goods. They discuss also about sanitation and the importance of what we are doing. Since relief goods are urgently needed by our brothers and sisters in Visayas, we were asked to refrain doing "selfie" photos. We may take photos to encourage others to help out and we can do it after our scheduled shift. In 2 hours we were able to finish at least 20 sacks of rice (repack 6 kilos each bag). I really enjoyed the experience and happy to share that moment with with my friends, some Coast Guards and other nationalities since we're the one who finish it first. Mabuhay to us guys! This is a poem I made for the people who were greatly affected by the Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda) and its devastating aftermath..

Papalakas ang hagin, ang paligid ay papalamig, Sa paghintay sa bagyo'y takot ang nanaig. Mga puso'y dumadalangin sa Poong nasa langit Huwag sanang pabayaan ang mga taong sa Kanya'y tanging kumakapit.

Sa pagsisimula ng pagdilim ng kalangitan O sa malakas na buhos ng ulan, Mata'y lumuluha, puno ng pangamba Nag-aalala kung may bukas pa ba.

Nagdadasal, nakikiusap sa Diyos Ama, Bigyan ng lakas upang kumalma. Mga mahal ay sa akin kumukuha ng lakas Upang manatiling nakatayo hanggang bagyo'y magwakas.

Sa pag-alis ng sakuna'y, walang ibang magawa Sira at kawalan ang unang tumambad sa mga mata. Puno't halaman, mga basura sa daan, Wala nang natira sa buhay na pinaghirapan.

Kapwa Pinoy, huwag mag-aala, Akoy nandito, hindi ka nagiisa. Kapit-bisig, hawak kamay tayo sa pagbangong muli Ang bagong umaga'y salubungin nang nakangiti

Panahon na, mg Pinoy, upang tayo'y muling magka-isa Bigyan ang bawat isa ng sapat na pag-asa Na darating ang araw, sa muling pagbabalik-tanaw "Nakaya ko!" ang ating masayang maisisigaw.

Mahirap man tanggapin, ito'y lilipas din Tayong mga Pinoy, lahat hahamakin Mula sa pinakamalagim na sinapit, sa huli't-huli, Mahal nating Pilipinas ay tatayong muli!

I made this poem while watching the news about the aftermath of the super typhoon that recently hit the Philippines. It was so traumatic that I felt like I needed to do something, no matter how small it may be.This is also for those people who still have missing loved ones. I know it's kind of impractical to post this on the net, considering that the people I dedicate this poem to don't even have electricity in their homes but I guess I just wanted to do something for them. This won't give them the necessities that they need, I am aware of that, but I just wanted to somehow give them strength and inspiration in the way that I possibly can. I believe that:

"One does not need to be rich or influential to give inspiration to others. A simple yet sincere tap on the shoulder is enough to show them that you truly care." - Danielin D.

We, Filipinos, will survive this! We just need to continue believing.

Lord I know that all the power is in your hand. I know that you are The Lord and that you care for your people. Right now, the Filipino people is struggling with a difficult trial. knowing that you have all of the strength that we needs. I pray that you will reach down and touch them right now wherever they maybe at this moment. Let your presence fill the place where ever they are and let them feel an extra portion of your strength that can help them to get through this day.
