frankieromustdie: Deer frends, recently i was lucky enough to have a couple new (to me) pieces of gear come into my possession that really made my brain jump up and down and my creativity kick in to overdrive. I love them so much in fact that i want to take a minute to share them with you all… (this is not a paid advertisement i just really dig this schtuff a lot!) on the left we have a Castedosa Marianna built by the incredible Carlos Lopez, in the middle you will find a Real DEALuxe - Tape Recorder Preamp w/ Modulation by Templo Devices, and on the right a Wasser Guitar works Shaft model built by Ben Wasser. You can hear a little of the Real DEALuxe played through my trusty Twin Reverb thanks to the kind people at Fender in the attached video. And all guitars of course have been strung up with Ernie Ball strings. These 3 have already helped me write a few songs this past week and i’m only scratching the surface. Thank you @castedosaguitars @templodevices @benwasserguitarworks @ernieball & @fender for making incredible tools that inspire me endlessly and thank you @timstuff123 @mschulz83 for always looking out and keeping your boy stocked and ready to party. i appreciate you 🖤🙏🖤. If you’re a gear nerd and have been looking at these online and debating whether or not to pull the trigger, i’m here to say you really should. L.S. Dunes unleash brand-new single, Benadryl Subreddit

After cryptically telling Kerrang! they had some new material in their back pockets, L.S. Dunes have just shared a brand-new single.

Entitled Benadryl Subreddit (more on that name in a second), the five-piece have unleashed their first new music since last year’s excellent Past Lives album, with an equally ace music video to accompany it.

Says Frank Iero of the whole thing: “Benadryl’s title comes from a conversation that Mikey Way [My Chemical Romance] and I were having one night on tour about sober guys finding out legal ways of getting high without doing actual drugs and messing with their sobriety.

“The music for this song came about when I knew we were going into the desert to record with Alex Newport at Rancho De La Luna. I had just received a new guitar in the mail from Ben Wasser at Guitarworks called the ‘Shaft’ and I got to thinking about the desert and what I thought that guitar should sound like in that setting. That riff came out immediately. Benadryl Subreddit represents the heat of the day out in the desert, sweating bullets and going fast.”

“In the early stages of the demo it was clear this song needed to be recorded and released sooner than many of the other songs we’ve been working on,” continues Travis Stever. “It captures an energy for the moment. It’s hard to keep hold of the energy and aim from demo to final recordings. I feel like with Alex Newport we did it!”

“Frank sent this infectious riff, and I immediately knew what I was going to play,” adds Tucker Rule. “The chemistry of this band is undeniable, and I love it so much.”

The song comes complete with a new music video, shot with Pat and Nick Demarais, who also worked on the Limitless Sky documentary, featuring a slightly sinister ice cream truck.

L.S. Dunes are on tour across the US this summer including some shows as part of Sad Summer Festival later this month.
