Open Individual Export License- OIEL

The exporter can apply for an export license in which they specify both the goods and the destination or destinations and it can cover multiple shipments and destinations.

It is often used to cover research collaboration and the provision of technical assistance in this freight forwarding and logistics operations.

These are one type of export license. Specifically, they are a concessionary form of licensing. OIELs are potentially available to individual exporters who have a track record in applying for export licenses or who can otherwise demonstrate a business case.

If we hold an Open Individual Export License (OIEL), we must obtain a written consignee undertaking for any permanent export or transfer of listed items confirming that those items are not intended for re-export or re-transfer to a destination and sector not listed as permitted on the license. The undertakings need to be received from each consignee before the first export.

If our OIEL includes named sectors within the schedule, then the consignee must name them in the relevant sections of the undertaking.

Destination Delivery Charge - DDC It is an additional fee charged by the carrier for the transportation of FCL shipments primarily destined for the US ports, the fee is used to reduce the cost of using the cranes and the gate fee at the terminal. This charge in the Freight Forwarding and Shipping Industry is based on the container size, which is applied in many tariffs to cargo and it is considered accessorial and added to the base of ocean freight. It covers the crane lifts off the vessel, drayage of the container within the terminal and gate fees at the terminal operation. It is another term used in certain ocean carriers and/or shipping conferences 'tariffs' to describe the terminal charge assessed against ocean cargo delivered at certain destination ports. It covers the same services as a terminal receiving charge (TRC) or a terminal handling charge (THC) or standard wharfage charge and/or terminal handling charges. Typically, this charge varies on the carrier, the cargo and sometimes the specific port or terminal. This process ensures that all living organisms with the potential to be harmful, such as by carrying diseases, are eliminated. Gas is the most common medium used for killing unwanted passengers, including termites, flies, and other harmful living organisms that carry disease or are considered invasive. Once this process has been conducted, the fumigation company will issue a certificate that will indicate to the customs clearance officers that the cargo fumigation has been conducted in line with leading global practices. Carriers and shippers carry these certifications to prove cargo has undergone fumigation. These certifications contain details about the cargo fumigation processes, purpose, temperature range, and the fumigants utilized in the process.
