This was taken last February. I can't wait to see my elementary boy in second grade! The kids return next week. He came to school every day and was so proud of his braille that he was teaching his classmates. The label on the old braille writer warns of not pressing Mrs. Perkins' ( the braille writer's name) without paper in it because it gives her indigestion. Last homework assignment of the year: It was a sheet about types of flowers in braille. She had to read about them and make a chart that showed 1) if the plant is easy to grow, 2) grown from a bulb or a seed, 3) needs sun or shade. She will attend 2 camps this summer so I gave her practice in the form of Gregory the Braille Frog Magazines for June and July.
