Kailash Mansarovar Yatra by Helicopter from Lucknow: A Divine Journey
The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra is one of the most revered pilgrimages for Hindus, Buddhists, Jains, and Bon followers. This sacred journey, centered around Mount Kailash, the abode of Lord Shiva, and Lake Mansarovar, is an experience that combines spiritual enlightenment with the breathtaking beauty of the Himalayas. For those seeking a more convenient and less strenuous option, the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra by Helicopter from Lucknow offers a unique opportunity to undertake this holy journey with ease and comfort.
Why Choose the Helicopter Route?
The traditional route to Kailash Mansarovar is arduous, involving long treks and high-altitude travel, which can be physically demanding. However, the helicopter route significantly reduces the journey time and the physical strain, making the Yatra accessible to a wider range of pilgrims, including elderly devotees or those with time constraints.
Starting the journey from Lucknow is especially beneficial for pilgrims in North India. It provides a seamless connection to the helicopter services, ensuring that the Yatra is completed efficiently and comfortably.
Itinerary of the Yatra

Pilgrims gather in Lucknow, where they will be welcomed by representatives from Jwalamukhi Tours. After a brief orientation, the group is transferred to the hotel for an overnight stay, preparing for the spiritual journey ahead.

Day 3: Nepalgunj to Simikot
Early in the morning, the group boards a chartered flight from Nepalgunj to Simikot, a remote village in the Humla district of Nepal.
After reaching Simikot, the group checks in at the hotel and prepares for the next stage of the journey. The day is spent acclimatizing to the high altitude of Simikot, which is essential to ensure a comfortable Yatra experience.
Day 4: Simikot to Hilsa via Helicopter, Then to Taklakot
The day begins with a helicopter ride from Simikot to Hilsa, a border town near the Nepal-China border. Upon landing in Hilsa, the group crosses the border on foot and proceeds to Taklakot (Burang), located in Tibet. After clearing Chinese immigration, the group is driven to their hotel in Taklakot for rest and acclimatization.
Day 5: Acclimatization Day in Taklakot
The entire day is reserved for acclimatization at Taklakot, which is at an altitude of approximately 4,000 meters.
Pilgrims can use this day to rest, meditate, and prepare spiritually for the upcoming visit to Mount Kailash and Lake Mansarovar.
Day 6: Taklakot to Mansarovar Lake
The journey continues with a drive from Taklakot to the sacred Mansarovar Lake.
Upon arrival, the group participates in a holy dip in the lake, believed to cleanse sins and bring spiritual liberation.
Pilgrims also perform rituals and offer prayers on the shores of the lake, experiencing the divine energy of the place.
The group then drives to the nearby guesthouse for an overnight stay.
Day 7: Mansarovar to Darchen
After an early morning ritual at Mansarovar, the group drives to Darchen, the base camp for the Mount Kailash circumambulation (Kora).
Darchen is located at the foothills of Mount Kailash, and the day is spent resting and preparing for the Kora.
Day 8: First Day of Kailash Kora
The Kora, a 52-kilometer circumambulation around Mount Kailash, begins early in the morning.
Pilgrims walk or ride ponies along the route, which is considered the most challenging part of the Yatra. The first day of the Kora ends at Dirapuk, where the group stays overnight.
Day 9: Second Day of Kailash Kora
The second day of the Kora involves crossing the Dolma La Pass, the highest point of the pilgrimage at 5,630 meters. The group then descends to Zuthulphuk, where they will rest for the night.

The final leg of the Kora concludes as the group returns to Darchen and then drives back to Taklakot for an overnight stay.
Day 11: Return Journey
The group begins the return journey by driving to Hilsa, crossing the border, and taking a helicopter ride back to Simikot.
From Simikot, they fly to Nepalgunj and then onwards to Lucknow, where the Yatra officially concludes. Essential Tips for Pilgrims
Physical Fitness: Although the helicopter route is less demanding, it is still advisable for pilgrims to undergo a basic health check-up and engage in light physical exercises before embarking on the Yatra.

During spring, the weather is generally mild and stable, with clear skies and blooming rhododendron flowers adding color to the landscape. The temperatures are moderate, and the visibility is excellent, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains.
Autumn (September to November): Another favorable time for the Annapurna Circuit trek is during the autumn season. The weather is usually dry and stable, with clear skies and pleasant temperatures. The trails are well-defined, and the views of the mountains are stunning. Autumn is also a popular time for trekking in the region.
During these seasons, you are less likely to encounter heavy rainfall or harsh winter conditions, making the trek more enjoyable and safer. The winter months (December to February) can be quite cold, with the possibility of snow blocking high passes, and the monsoon season (June to August) brings heavy rainfall and the risk of landslides, making it less suitable for trekking.
Keep in mind that weather patterns can vary, and it's essential to check current conditions before planning your trek. Additionally, it's advisable to be prepared for changing weather, especially at higher altitudes.
What kind Accommodation and Food Should i expect in Annapurna Circuit Trek?
The accommodation during the Annapurna Circuit Trek is a harmonious blend of comfort and cultural immersion. Tea houses, featuring twin beds and private rooms with shared bathrooms, provide a warm and insulated haven for weary trekkers. Beyond the cozy lodging, the culinary experience is equally enchanting, with menus offering a diverse array of local, Western, Indian, Chinese, and Tibetan cuisines. From traditional Nepali dishes like dal bhat to international favorites such as pasta and pancakes, tea houses cater to various tastes. The inviting atmosphere of communal dining areas in these lodgings adds to the trek's allure, making it a memorable journey filled with both culinary delights and snug accommodations amidst the stunning landscapes of the Annapurna region.
