C.V. Farrow drew this beautiful map of what he called "The Wondrous Isle of Manhattan" in 1926. You MUST enlarge it. It wasn't intended to be used for navigation, but rather as a pictorial representation of the island's highlights. Below are a few details that show you what the full-size map is really like. You should enlarge them, too!

PLATFORMS Research/Internship Suggestion: Farrows
When thinking about what professions I can apply myself to as a freelance graphic illustrator, advertising, branding and marketing stands out to me as a possible industry, one which is an extremely exciting and ever-changing industry to create work for, in a range of contexts.
After the PLATFORMS networking meeting, one of the professionals I spoke to at the event suggested to look into ‘Farrows’ for an internship when I explained what I do, and my interests in graphic art, logos and the relation between text & image.
Farrow seem to create work to an extremely high quality. Their forms are clean and concise, the colour palettes they use carefully considered, and the work itself spans from publications, printed material, video/animation and photography. If I wish to apply for an internship, I need to consider this from their site:
“We love having students and graduates with us, however we do tend to get booked up very quickly and quite far in advance. Why not send us an email with your C.V. and some examples of your work and we will come back to you as soon as we can. Also follow us on twitter for the latest opportunities.”
It may be unlikely to receive an internship placement before graduation, but I will continue to edit my CV (including the future JEALOUS placement may help me stand out), and present some select images, and a link to my website.
