Hmm for the challenge, how about Steve Rogers and returning a wallet.

Summary: Y/N is forever losing things, and when she misplaces her purse one day, it’s down to Steve to return it to her.
Characters: Dark!Steve x Reader.
Words: 867.
Warnings: non-con, dub-con, explicit sexual content, cream pie, unprotected sex (wrap it before you tap it kids), forced entry, 18+.
A/N: This is my entry for @syntheticavenger's How It Started/How It's Going challenge. Not beta’ed so all errors, spelling mistakes and general bullshit are entirely mine. However I do have to thank my pre-readers @sweeterthanthis @ozarkthedog and @thesummerpetrichor for their comments and support, you guys are the best. While likes are gold, feedback is golden. My work is my own, therefore I do not give consent for this story to be re-posted or translated to any other site.
How It Started
You’re forever losing things— car keys, cell phone, purse. It’s inherently in your nature to be so lackadaisical, that even as a child, you were constantly misplacing your toys. So when you lose your cute little Ted Baker wallet, you don’t immediately panic when you can’t find it.
Your bank knows you well by now— so well, in fact you’re on first name terms with most of their advisers when you call late on that blisteringly hot Thursday afternoon. They simply chuckle when you tell them the situation, and promising to have your replacement cards with you in two to five days, they wish you a good evening as a knock at your apartment door prompts you to end the call.
You stride over, voice trapping in your throat as you open it, taken aback by the sight of Steve Rogers, and his broad frame filling up your doorway.
“C-Captain Rogers?” you stutter, his presence reeking of omnipotence.
You’ve only encountered brief moments with him back at the compound, your priority and focus on Natasha and her comms equipment. But every time you’ve come into contact with the man, you find yourself stunned into silence. He’s America’s Golden Boy— the image of perfection in the eyes of the country, while you’re just a lowly tech assistant, assigned to one of his comrades.
You’ve never been on the man’s radar— not until today.
“I think you might’ve lost this,” he states, holding out his hand with that kind smile you’ve seen him flash Nat on many occasions. Glancing down, your eyes widen at the sight of your red purse looking almost minuscule in his large palm.
“Oh my god!” you squeal happily, almost snatching it from him. “Where did you find it?”
“Some cafe on Broad Street, I think, I can’t quite remember.”
Of course. You must’ve left it behind after paying for lunch.
“Thank you,” you smile, mindlessly thumbing it open to check the contents. All the cash and cards are still there— not that you have much in the way of savings to offer anyway.
What are you thinking? Captain America would never steal from anyone.
“How’d you know where to find me?” you add, wondering if he’d asked Don down in personnel for your address.
“Oh, your um, Drivers License,” he confirms just as your thumb lands on it, the highly embarrassing photo staring back at you.
“Right, of course,” you laugh, and slap your forehead, instantly regretting it. “Stupid me.”
“You’re not stupid, these things happen,” he returns kindly.
“Thank you Captain.”
“Please, call me Steve.”
-
How It’s Going
Steve’s hips slap wetly against the backs of your thighs, the obscene sound filling the otherwise silent apartment. His grunts are almost harmonic, perfectly in tune with his thrusts, and it takes every ounce of resolve to swallow down the moan caught in your throat.
He must never know how good he feels inside you. Otherwise he’ll keep up this nightly visitation act he believes he’s claimed the rights to, all because he was the one who found your damn purse.
Pulling out, Steve quickly flips you over onto your front, and re-enters you with a force that never fails to take your breath away.

‘Til Death Do Us Part
Summary: Y/N heads back to the home she once shared with Steve in preparation to spend one last night together before their divorce is due to be finalised. Little does she know that her husband doesn’t intend to give her up. Ever.

Warnings: non-con, dub-con, explicit sexual content, mentions of drugging, manipulation, gaslighting, implied forced pregnancy, slight breeding kink, forced orgasms, multiple orgasms, mentally abusive relationship tw, 18+.
A/N: Written for @stargazingfangirl18‘s amazing 5K Soft!Dark Challenge. I chose dialogue prompt #3 (”Oh, honey, you weren’t supposed to see that”) and it is highlighted in bold. Siri, I can’t tell you how much of a blast it was to write this! Thank you so much for hosting, and many congratulations on your 5K milestone - you deserve every single one of them. Beta: @sweeterthanthis but all the general bullshit is entirely mine. I also have to thank you Lau for being the greatest support and enabler. You are truly a ray of sunshine on a stormy day. Somehow you expect the family home to look different in a way— like the roof should be sporting some devil’s breath while the ground suddenly gives way to brimstone as a way of signifying its metaphorical descent into hell, but as you step from the cab straight onto the sidewalk, it looks the same as you left it four months ago.
Sure, there’s leaves blocking the gutter, the bushes leading up to the porch look a little unruly and the lawn could do with a trim, but really they’re only surface deep differences, ones you probably never would have noticed had you stayed put.
The real change you figure, would be inside, buried within the woodwork like rot, much like the person residing inside it, a malevolent kind of darkness laying claim to their soul.
The house still looks like something plucked right out of a fairytale, its entire presence cosy and inviting. You just wish you hadn’t been the one to abandon it.
Memories flood your thoughts— you could recall the day you moved in like it was yesterday, just like the moment Steve proposed to you on the front porch, and that first step across the threshold as a married couple will live with you until the day you die, no matter how hard you do your best to block it out.
Pushing open the white gate, you take a slow walk up the path, each step hesitant and tentative, unsure if coming back here was the right thing to do. You need those divorce papers, your inner voice reminds you curtly. Then you can get the hell outta here and put this all behind you.
You’d been Mrs. Rogers for the better part of five years, and to begin with, it had been the perfect marriage. Steve was a model husband and lover, but over the time the cracks started to show. He became possessive and controlling, desperate to know where you were at any given time of day when you weren’t with him. He told you what you could and couldn’t eat, controlled the intake of your calories, and eventually he dictated your meals to the last crumb.
He was a master manipulator— breaking off your friendships with your nearest and dearest from right under your nose, using your own hands to chop the strings from the “puppets” he called them. But little did you know, you were Steve’s toy all along. Moulded into his perfect little wife who wouldn’t dare put a foot out of line.
It wasn’t until you had to travel for work— a situation Steve did his best to quash, that you came to your senses when a co-worker innocently commented on the unhealthy dependency you seemingly had on your husband, after calling to apologise that you hadn’t checked in with him, despite the fact you had been caught up in meetings all day.
She became concerned for you, asking you to seek help from friends and you admitted they had all drifted away, not realising you were the one to create the wedge in the first place.
That was the first piece of the jigsaw to fall from its place, until more began to slip, giving you a glimpse into the harsh reality below it.
You eventually escaped his clutches three months later.
Six weeks passed before you served the divorce papers, citing unreasonable behaviour on his part. Steve seemingly accepted them without causing a ruckus like you expected, instead only asking of you a simple request.
It had been a long day at the office the night his text came through, a renowned sense of fear clasping at your heart the minute you saw his name pop up on your phone screen. You left it an hour before you summoned up the courage to open it, the two glasses of red wine helping to steady to your nerves. You expected something malicious, but what flashed up before you was far from it.
“Come back for one last night? I’ll take you to dinner at Romanoff’s then home for a movie? It’ll be just like old times.”
While you were initially dubious, you couldn’t help feel an odd sense of nostalgia, almost wanting to relive your old date nights. Before things turned sour.
So here you are, staring up at the house you once longed to raise your children in as the front door swings open and Steve appears, rushing down the steps as a wide grin pulls at his lips.
“Oh honey, you made it,” he greets happily, leaning in to press a gentle kiss to your cheek. You stiffen at his touch, desperate to push him away but you hold your nerve, instead returning his smile when he retreats. “How was the train ride?”
You’d been living in the city since the separation, eager to put as much distance between the two of you, and so far it was doing the trick.
“It was fine, thank you,” you reply politely as he reaches to take your overnight bag, turning to take two porch steps at a time. You follow nervously, unnerved by his overly kind demeanour.
“Great,” he dismisses quickly, before calling over his shoulder, “so I set up the guest bedroom for you, y’know, remember, the one across the hall from the nursery.”
He’s babbling excitedly like you’re coming home for good, and you feel like you have to interject before he’s forcing you to pick out new China patterns for the dinnerware.
“Steve—”
He glances back at you. “Hm?”

When Daddy’s Not Around
Summary: A cockroach infestation in Y/N’s apartment block forces her and her parents to stay with her dad’s best friend— the wealthy bachelor James Barnes. And when her parents are out of town for the weekend, the sexual tension that has been brewing between the pair finally boils over.
Characters: DadsBestFriend!Bucky x F!Reader.
Words: 5916.
Warnings: age gap relationship (reader is 18), heavy sexual tension, explicit sexual content, Bucky being a little tease, Bucky being a slut, Bucky in just a towel, female masturbation, finger sucking, unprotected sex (wrap it before you tap it kids), multiple orgasms, definite size kink, cream pie, 18+.
A/N: Written for @sweeterthanthis “Quote Me On It” challenge, my prompt was “I thought about what you would look like having an orgasm” from Sex, Lies & Videotape. It is highlighted in bold, however it has been altered slightly. Bucky’s look is entirely inspired by this GIF, and if you’re after a visualisation of the sex position, feast your eyes on this. Beta: @there-must-be-a-lock but all the general bullshit is entirely mine. Lou, your detailed feedback and suggestions have literally altered my writing experience completely, thank you so much. I’d like to also thank my pre-reader @ozarkthedog for your wonderful comments, and sending all of my gratitude to @imanuglywombat, my beautiful wombat queen. Your support has been priceless throughout. While likes are gold, feedback is golden. My work is my own, therefore I do not give consent for this story to be re-posted or translated to any other site. You’re barely through the front door one dreary Monday evening when your dad accosts you in the tiny hallway, his hands full with two bulging duffel bags.
You shoot him a quizzical look as you drop your backpack to the floor. “What’s going on?”
“Pack as many clothes and essentials as you can,” he instructs. “We’ve gotta move out.”
“Move out?” you repeat incredulously. “Did we miss the last rent cheque or something?”
He tries hard to school his features, almost horrified that you would suggest such a thing, and as soon as the words leave your mouth you regret them. You’re about to apologise as the older man drops the bags to the floor, turning his attention to the bureau to the left of you.
“Entire apartment block has cockroaches. Whole building is getting fumigated,” he explains, eyes trained downward as he rummages inside the small wooden dresser.
You shiver at the thought of thousands of the parasites crawling over your body before questioning, “Where the hell are we gonna live?”
“Bucky says we can stay with him.”
Your stomach feels like lead at the words, even though it makes perfect sense. Nana and Pops live too far out of town, and you still need to be close enough to school without having to catch six buses just to make it in time for the first period.
Bucky. James. Dad’s oldest and closest friend.
His house may be in the opposite direction to your school district, but it’s still the more viable option. You’d only have to get one bus this way, even if it did mean getting up at the crack of dawn to make sure you’re on it. Plus he has more than enough space to accommodate the three of you without feeling like you’re living out of each other’s pockets.
And you can’t argue with logic, despite how much you want to.
So Bucky’s house it is.
-
The next week passes by in a blur of belongings shoved into whatever hold-all’s and suitcases you can find. Desperate to pack as many of your clothes as possible, it doesn’t matter that you haven’t worn half of the garments in what feels like years, you never know when the occasion would call for a cute little flowery two piece and clumpy brown wedges that you can barely walk in.
The bedroom James’ housekeeper Olga has allocated to you is almost the same size as your entire apartment, and that doesn’t include the walk-in closet that leads off to the left of the queen sized bed, which in itself is bigger than your whole room at home. You can’t understand why a man who lives alone needs such a vast living quarters, but as you unpack your possessions into a pathetically small portion of the closet, you are suddenly grateful that he does.
The first night after you settle in as much as you can, James promises to give the three of you the space you need, and to treat the place as if it were your own. Predictably, Dad objects, but James won’t hear of it.
“My home will always be your home,” quotes the playboy as Dad shoots his friend daggers, remembering the same words falling from his own mouth years before. “Every amenity is at your disposal, and my staff are always on hand if you need anything.”
“We can’t ask them to do that, Buck. They don’t work for us,” Dad argues.
James lives a lavish lifestyle, one he always downplays when he comes to visit. It isn’t that he’s ashamed of his wealth, but he knows your parents are modest and never live beyond their means. He has too much respect for them to shove it in their faces.
But you always remember the one and only time your father and his friend disagreed over their financial differences. James had offered to help out when bills began to mount up after your father’s car broke down at the side of the highway, and repairs were costly. Your parents were simply too proud to take his money, and it was never spoken of again.
“But they work for me, and they do what I ask of them, and if that means waiting on hand and foot for my guests then that’s what they’ll do,” James counters quickly.
“Buck—” Dad starts, but his best friend shuts him down with a look and a casual wave of the hand.
“I’m not gonna argue about this. My word’s final.”

my sister was diagnosed with ovarian cancer two weeks ago
and just yesterday, she was stripped of the hope that she would be able to have her eggs extracted and frozen (ahead of her full hysterectomy) so that eventually in the future she could use them to have a baby
i’m not taking any of this news well despite my best abilities to hide it so if i take time in getting back to anyone (whether it be an ask, dm, comment, reblog etc) please don’t take it personally
however, i have set up a justgiving page and am trying to raise money for her to able to have the procedure of preserving her eggs privately which costs upwards of £4k, i know times are tough but anything you can spare would mean the absolute world to me

it hadnt been very long, actually but an hour since you both had set eyes on eachother. departing at the security gate you both went to wait for your respected flights home but after an hour a storm warning delayed all the outgoing flights.
you both took your luggage and had the same idea, give the attendants your phone numbers to be alerted when the flights are ready to leave again, head to the nearest hotel and drink/dance the hours away…
this hotel just happened to be the same damn hotel (hyatt regency orlando international airport hotel) for it was just outside the hotel that you heard your name being called.
Jensen: “YN… YN wait up!”
you turned around to be face to face once more with Jensen… it was torture but it was better than being alone…
Jensen: “thank goodness i caught up to you… i have been screaming your name for the entire walk from the desk in the airport to here…”
YN: “sorry i had ear buds in… let me guess your flight got delayed too..?”
jensen: “yes it did, how bout to save money we share a room… it would be a whole hell of a lot less boring…”
YN: “why not but we need to go dancing, i am gonna go stir crazy if i dont fall to a beat…”
Jensen: “it will happen, but first i think we need to get into something hot and sexy to blend in at the club…”
you nod as Jensen with his suitcase comes beside you and your suitcase both of you walking into the hotel.
desk personal: “can i help you?”
Jensen: “yes we would like to check in, our flights got delayed…”
Desk personal: “i will need a name to charge the room under as well a card to charge it too…”
Jensen with his dashing smile pulled out his wallet and took out one of his cards.
Jensen: “name is Jensen Ackles. and ill charge this to Visa please. and make sure the room is non smoking with a balcony.”
Desk Personal: “of course mr Ackles. please tap when your ready and one of you will need to sign this agreement its just a standard agreement saying you wont destroy the rooms or anything like that…”
You looked at Jensen and then you took the pen and signed the paper…
YN: “we are just smart enough to wait somewhere comfortable till this storm passes… however long it takes… we dont care…”
Desk personal: “ah yes well storms usually last about 2-3 days depending on the level of the storm. it will be a while so yes you both are very smart in waiting someplace comfortable. now here is your room key you are in room 405 enjoy your stay and welcome to the Hyatt regency Orlando international airport hotel.”
you take the room key and shove it in the corner of your bra so you can take your suitcase in one hand while Jensen take your hand with his free hand. he keeps eyeing you, like he wants to jump you right then right there.
Jensen: “you know if you wear something with easy access you and i will have some fun on the dancefloor. some very heated decreet fun..”
he flashed you another one of his charming smiles. this made your knees feel week. both of you got into the elevator pushing the button to go to the floor to go to your room.
YN: “there is a club down the road calld Noches Azul, i hear its a popular and amazing place for those who like to move with the beat of their own drum.”
Jensen: “then we shall dress to the appropriate color too… ladies first.”
he says as the elevator doors opened. you walked out first and started down the hall slowly till Jensen stepped off the elevator then it was fair game you turned and blew him a kiss before taking off down the hall.
Jensen dropped his luggage beside yours in front of your door and pursured you, when he caught you he picked you up bridal style before reaching in to grab the key card out of your bra with his teeth.
then using your free hand you slid it in the door Jensen used his elbow to push the door open. he carried you placing you on the bed placing ferverous kisses all over your body.
this continued for several moments before you both pulled back and smiled.
YN: “if we dont get off of this bed we wont make it dancing… we want to have some discreet fun dont we?”
Jensen groaned at you, but of course he knew you were right…
Jensen: “your right. so what are you wearing tonight?”
YN: “stay right here and ill show you…”
you go into the other room away from Jensen’s view and you put on the little blue dress you had found at the airport. it just happened to fit the bill… once the dress was on you put all your stuff nice-ishly back where it was.
YN: “Jensen play Sexy Back… i want to see your reaction to me in this dress with this song.”
you listen for the start of the song, it starts and you wait for the bridge, where you begin to move slowly then you began to move into view along the wall when the chorus started.
as you continued to move your body on the corner of the wall you watched Jensen’s eyes not leave your form. you could see the lust in his eye, you could see the way his lips curled and the way he licked his lips. it turned you on so bad.
Jensen: “when did you pick this little number up?”
YN: “at the airport after i passed security, i went to grab a snack and came out with this dress. what do you think?”
Jensen: “i love it, it is exactly what will help this night to go smoothly. as well as it just looks smashing on you.”
Jensen had already stopped the song, you continued to stand against the wall, but Jensen figured he had to find something hot for himself to wear. you waited paitently for him to come back wearing the navy shirt along with some Jeans.
you let out a whistle for that shirt brought out his features very well. you had your leather jacket on the couch near by, Jensen had his in hand as well, you handed him your id to keep in his wallet along with the key card.
in moments you were off walking through the small area to the club. where you both would dance and dance till your hearts content or till you both felt so hot and heavy that it would be beneficial if you were anywhere but there.
arriving you both showd your id and were let inside. you both checked your jackets and Jensen stuck the check stubs in his wallet. you both went straight to the dance floor. you were glued to Jensen like a dirty shirt.
no one would dare to mess with either of you. finding a nice darkish spot on the dancefloor private enough for some “secret” fun.
both of you now taking part in the music, the beat coursing through your forms, your shared forms blending not missing a single beat no one around you paid any attention.
under the dimest spotlight there was, you and Jensen now stood making yourselves as comfortable as could be. the beat taking over, the feeling of Jensen’s hands roaming your body, this made your pussy very very wet.
Jensen(whispering in your ear): “grind my fingers baby keep dancing.”
you did as commanded, you were so wet and had orgasmed 5 times by the time the song was done. thats when Jensen pulled his fingers back again before you could orgasm again, he once more leaned down to whisper.
Jensen (whispering): “squirt for me baby!”
Jensen once more dipped his fingers hard into your soaking wet pussy. the silent moans, the rest of the club clueless as fuck and the feeling of Jensen’s fingers diving deeper and deeper into your pussy.
your body kept moving trying to contain any signs that you were discreetly being masturbated by a man you have only known for a month. this was your normal, this felt right in more ways than one.
Jensen had been there for you from the first day you met him. till now you had been completely alone, no man had entered your life long enough to even have your first kiss, long enough to ever make it as far as you had with Jensen. to be feeling these feelings made you wonder if he felt it to.
truth was he was completely feeling the same thing you were this was how you first swiruted, this was the man you knew was to be your present as well as your future.
in that moment you didnt care, you knew eventually your flights would take you both home seperately and probably your paths would never cross again. but in this moment it felt like heaven on earth.
Jensen hit one sweet spot and you squirted, discreetly you and Jensen giggling and smiling walked out of that club as fast as possible remembering to grab your coats on the way out.
arriving outside the club and walking back to the hotel you both laughed, for it was to be destiny that would give you both the biggest surprise ever.
arriving back at the hotel you both stumble up to the room, shutting the door again ending up in eachothers arms on the bed, the clothes you guys had been wearing were now all over the floor, and both of you were now cuddled in bed having just done sex for what felt like the millionth time during this entire trip.
reality started to sink in when the phone calls came in 6 hours later, this was when it sunk in. both of you looked at the clock it read 3:30am this was the time that the delay was no more. this was when you were both disturbed to get up get repacked and get ready for your flights home.
Jensen: “ill never forget the time we spent together. i left you something in your suitcase. you will find it and know what it means when the time comes. i also took down your address and phone number ill be sending you little things to show you i havent forgotten.”
YN: “i feel the same way but once we leave here, why would you waste time on a non celeb like me. i mean sure maybe our friends set us up but we wont know that till we confront them. i should have said this sooner but before i get on this plane there is something you should know. i think i have fallen for you. but i know not what to think at this moment. i took down your number as well, please understand that i may not communicate right away but thats cause i have a best friend whose anxiously awaiting my return home.”
Jensen: “same here, but please let me know when you do arrive home. i would like to know you arrived safely.”
Jensen helped you once more by helping you with your bags as he walked by your side to the airport and up to the check in once more to get your updated tickets and then it was time to part once more in such sweet sorrow.
you and jensen let go of your bags and hugged it out once more before parting to your respected gates. but you whispered in his ear when you hugged him.
YN: “i will let you know when im back on home soil. i will always remember your touch.”
Jensen and you parted and went on your way. arriving home you sent Jensen a text.
YN (texting Jensen): “hey Jensen its YN. i am back on home soil and i already miss your embrace. i am heading to baggage to collect my luggage, then to meet my best friend in the lobby. home hasnt changed. let me know when you land and what your seeing too. ill look forward to being in more correspondance with you soon <3″
you grabbed your bag and went down the escalator straight into the arms of your best friend. you broke down as soon as you hit her embrace. she just stood there hugging you not caring that either of you were in public, you both stood there as you cried.
Beth: “what happened girl?”
YN: “long story short the trip was amazing, but i fear i have fallen in love with someone i might never seen again. i missed you.”
Beth: “come on lets get you out of here and back home.”
you both exited the airport and went back home. later when you were alone you looked at your phone and saw a messgae from jensen.
Jensen (via text): “hey beautiful i made it home to, i know how you feel, it feels weird to be home again. my best friend is waiting i just grabbed my luggage. i hope everything goes well. till we speak again. i miss you too <3″
that was the message that sent you into a suspended sleep your bestie crawled into bed after she was done her work. she didnt care that you were passed out. she was just happy that you were home.
Jensen had a similar greeting from his best friend and returned home to his large and half empty bed also falling into a suspended sleep all he could think about was you.

If you need some help with the registration fee, check out the financial assistance post. "Bitchin' Party"? Seriously? "Bitchin' Party" became the unofficial name of the con after some of the concomm had the misfortune of watching a gloriously bad TV show called Dante's Cove. Don't worry, we're not using it unironically.* *except that some of us totally are Hotel Information: The hotel is the Issaquah Hilton Garden Inn, located at 1800 Gilman Blvd, Issaquah, WA (here on Google Maps). The front desk number is 1-425-837-3600, and the fax number is 1-425-837-3635. How much does it cost? The con rate $124/king and $144/two queens, plus tax. A small number of cots will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis upon check-in. How do I reserve a room? Select your arrival/departure dates, your number of rooms/guests, your preferred bed configuration, and then provide your information. Our group code is PWC402. (Note that you can only add ONE additional person's name to your reservation, so give some thought to who is likely to arrive first. It can also be changed later if necessary.) A credit card is required to hold the reservation, but no deposit is required. (They do have a disclaimer that they can place a hold on your card for the full amount of your stay, but FWIW, we've never seen that happen.) NOTE: If you have ANY question or problem with the reservation process (for example, if you did not get the correct rate quoted to you, or it says it doesn't have your preferred bed configuration available), PLEASE call the toll-free number at 1-877-STAY-HGI and talk to a real person (tell them you're reserving for the Pacific Writers' Conference). If for some reason that still doesn't resolve things, contact us at pacificwriterscon [at] gmail [dot] com and we will contact the hotel. To reserve over the phone: Call the main reservation line at 1-877-STAY-HGI and tell them you're reserving for the Pacific Writers' Conference (that is our sekkrit spy codename to civilians!). Make sure you specify whether you'd like a king room or two queens. Vidshow There will be a vidshow on Saturday night, details TBD. Check out the vidshow tag for the latest info! Room parties Room parties are totally encouraged (as long as noise is kept to a respectful level that won't get us in trouble with other guests/the hotel)! Please note, however: NO alcohol is allowed in the main con ballroom (except via the cash bar on Saturday night). Feel free to drink/eat whatever you want in your sleeping rooms. A list of things we will not have, because we are all casual and stuff: No celebrity guests (y'all are rockstars enough for us) No art show No dealers No free meals besides hors d'oeuvres on Saturday and breakfast on Saturday & Sunday What we do have is LOVE, people. SO MUCH LOVE. And bacon! Getting to the con: By air Airport You'll probably want to fly into Seattle-Tacoma (Sea-Tac) International Airport. Getting from the airport to the hotel The hotel is about 20 miles from Sea-Tac. The most affordable option is to take the light rail and connect to a bus; the light rail will get you from the airport to downtown Seattle for $2.50, and from downtown, there are several buses to Issaquah (average $2.50 fare) that will drop you off at the Issaquah Transit Center on 17th Ave NW, less than half a mile from the hotel (see the Metro Online Site for more info). Otherwise: - Taxi (in the vicinity of $55-$65 plus tip), Uber, or Lyft - Shuttle service - When the con gets closer, we'll open up a thread for anyone who wants to try to coordinate cab/shuttle-sharing with other attendees. - Rent a car (see below for driving directions) Getting to the con: Not by air The thread for roadtrip coordination will be posted closer to the con and linked here. By train or bus Amtrak and Greyhound both have stations in downtown Seattle. From there, you're about a 20-minute drive away from Issaquah. See below for driving directions. Local bus service is, as I said, not all that comprehensive, but it is pretty easy from downtown--the Metro Online site is here if you'd like to check out your options. By car: driving directions - As long as you are not east of Issaquah (including from Sea-Tac airport), take (as applicable) I-5 N, I-5 S, I-405 N, or I-405 S to I-90 E (toward Spokane). If you're east of Issaquah, take I-90 W. - From I-90, take exit 15 (WA-900 / 17th Ave NW). - Turn right at the light onto 17th Ave NW. - About a block down, turn right onto Gilman Blvd (by the Burger King). - The hotel will be about a block ahead of you on your right, behind the John L. Scott building. The hotel is here on Google Maps. Getting to the con: Other Travel by War Rig, Bifrost, tour bus, dog sled, Goat Van, stargate, wormhole, battlestar, firefly, TARDIS, Leviathan, Chevy Impala, Mystery Machine, or similar to be arranged by individual attendees. Roommates, rideshares, and airport transportation coordination Roommate, rideshare, and cab/Lyft/shuttle-share threads will be posted closer to the con! Weather It does not, in fact, rain ALL the time in Seattle. However, in the springtime, it tends to rain quite a bit. Bring a waterproof jacket if you have one, and maybe an umbrella if you plan to be out and about (though the hotel also has a few umbrellas you can borrow). Temperatures will probably be in the 50s/low 60s, but given climate change shenanigans, we cannot safely predict the weather. Basically, layers are highly recommended—not only is Seattle weather changeable (it snowed at our first BP; WHAAAT), but so are hotel temperatures (especially in meeting spaces, where they tend to crank the air conditioning), so being able to take off/add clothes as necessary is your best bet. Tourist information Downtown Seattle is about a 20-minute drive from Issaquah (up to about 45 minutes with traffic). For information about tourist activities available in the area, you can visit this site. Who's flying this thing? The mod team is intransitive, jedusaur, & pi. General questions/concerns/etc. should go to the ConComm at pacificwriterscon [at] gmail Questions about registration should go to the ConComm at pacificwriterscon [at] gmail as well. As we get closer, we'll update this post with panel, vidshow, and other contact info, but the entire ConComm has access to the above email, and the appropriate person will answer any questions that come up, so that email address is your best bet! We're trying to tag posts as much as possible for ease of navigation. To view all the tags for the community, go here. See you in April!

Sing, “This is my body and soul here.”

Sing, “You’ve got the power and control.”
~
Life went on. Even though Adrian felt empty inside, he had no other choice, but to continue his life and be grateful for having his Master’s family still there.
The first few days had been the hardest. With Adrian woken up twice in consecutive nights, it didn’t sit right with Zane. First first evening, the one right after Adrian’s accident with the broken glass, Zane had found him sweaty in his bed after he screamed. For a moment he had thought that it was Izzy, but she had miraculously slept through the entire ordeal.
The second night Adrian looked pale when he’d woken up Zane with yet another scream in the middle of the night. All the colour had drained from his face and he looked numb. He just stared ahead of himself and was choking on his words, but he wasn’t able to say anything coherent. Zane didn’t need to hear him say anything to know that it was about Arthur. Something was terribly wrong. That night he stayed with Adrian and lulled him to sleep. He kept stroking his hair until his breathing evened out and he was asleep. He didn’t know what Adrian felt in that moment, but it was obvious that he was hurting.
He eventually fell asleep himself, but it felt like only a few minutes when he was woken up early by the discomfort of the position he slept in. As he moved away slowly so he wouldn’t wake up Adrian, he was going over in his head on what to do that day. He wanted to hear from Adrian what happened, but he also didn’t want to wake up.
Adrian hadn’t woken up all day. He was asleep when Zane brought him breakfast upstairs and the food was still untouched when he came back to bring him lunch and dinner. Even when Zane tried to wake him up slowly just so he could eat something, Adrian only stirred, groaned, but kept his eyes shut. He spent an entire week in bed, not wanting to come out and he barely ate anything unless forced him to eat something. He promised him that he would do anything to find Arthur. Adrian didn’t even move at the sound of his name, as if he had already given up.
After two weeks, Adrian finally started to feel like himself again. He made dinner, he helped around the house, but he still looked for signs that Arthur was alive.
Zane was sitting behind his desk with a cigar to his lips as his eyes were on the scene happening outside in the garden. Adrian was there with Izzy, spreading out food for the birds for the winter. He could hear her laugh from time to time and it was good to see Adrian helping her. He cared about that boy more than anything, like he was his son as well, just like Arthur was. He had adopted both without the official payment and with different agreements.
Suddenly the phone rang.
“Hello,” Zane said. “Ah, Edgar! Good to hear your voice again. Do you have news for me?”
A week after Adrian’s scream in the middle of the night and realising something bad had happened to Arthur, he started an investigation into his nephew’s whereabouts and what happened to him. Especially since Samuel couldn’t get in contact with any of the members, he knew something bad had happened. He hired a private investigator, Edgar Welkens, to find out if Arthur was still alive. He had spoken to Edgar quite a few times in the first week, but every time he had no sign of where Arthur was and if he was still alive. Zane purposely kept this information from Adrian, because he didn’t want to give him false hope.
Edgar’s voice sounded serious and hushes as he provided Zane with the information that he had found out while he had stayed quiet for at least two weeks, making Zane wondering where he was and if everything was okay.
“I’m sending you the documents and video now,” Edgar’s voice sounded through the phone.
Zane opened his mailbox and saw the new e-mail from Edgar. He opened the attached files, containing a few sheets of scanned documents and a .mp4. He didn’t question Edgar how he got this, but it was obvious that it was illegally,
“Interesting. Thank you so much, Edgar. That helps a lot. Please, continue finding out whatever you can find out there and I will start investigating here. I’ll speak to you soon.” Then he hung up and sat back in his chair. There was a dark shadow over his face as he started into the distance again with his cigar.
Zane didn’t know how long he had been there when he heard the knock on his door. He had been lost in his thoughts looking outside, but he hadn’t even noticed when Adrian and Izzy had gone back inside until the knock and Adrian came walking in.
“I’m sorry to interrupt. I made you a cup of coffee.” He held a tray in his hands with a single cup of coffee on it and then another plate, which he believed was with one or two cookies he had baked earlier this morning.
“Thank you, Adrian,” Zane mentioned as he put his cigar down.
He sat up in his chair and waited for Adrian to put the tray down on his desk. There was no smile on his face, but Zane couldn’t blame him. He could tell Adrian was still hurting and he wanted to tell him about the investigation he had going, but he didn’t. Adrian turned around and headed towards the door to go back to his chores for the day.
“Adrian.” Zane waited until Adrian stopped and looked at him before he continued, “I’ll be gone for a few days. Out of town for business. I need you to be looking after Izzy until then, is that okay?”
Adrian lowered his head to show that he would do whatever Zane told him to do. “Of course, Master.”
It felt strange to hear Adrian say it now, because it had been such a long time ago since he had been this formal and apprehensive.
“I’ll be leaving tonight after dinner.”
Adrian lowered his head once more, waited to see if he said more and when he didn’t, he turned around to leave again. When he reached the door to leave, Zane stopped him.
“Will you be okay?”
Adrian didn’t turn around immediately, but then put up a fake smile and nodded a couple of times. “I will be okay, Master. Me and Lady Isabel will be okay together.”
It did concern him the way Adrian was responding to his question and how he had closed himself off from letting him now what he really felt. Was this what it looked like when you’ve met your soulmate and then feeling that he had died.
After dinner was over and Zane had told Izzy that he would be gone for a few days, but Adrian would be here to help him out. He had packed a small suitcase and headed on his way. Although he had told Adrian that he was going on a business trip, that wasn’t the entire truth. Zane was on his way out of town to a hotel where it seemed like someone had e-mailed information from the hotel’s server to the post office to send out a telegram and also to the government for intel. Edgar also had given him a name, Howard Stanley. That name didn’t sound familiar with him, but he was going to find out who this Howard Stanley was and why he had ratted the group out that caused his nephew’s disappearance.
It took him over an hour to get there. By this time, it was dark outside, but he hoped the man was still in town or at least left a few marks.
“Could I get a room please?” Zane asked after entering the hotel and stopping at the service desk.
“South side or north side, sir?” the younger man asked, his tie up to his neck and his posture straight, professional.
“Which one would you prefer, Kyle?” Zane read of his name on his name tag.
“The south side. That one has the beautiful sight looking over the ocean.”
“Let’s do that.”
Zane gave him his credit card and everything else that he needed before he was given the key and instructions on what floor he needed to be.Before he headed up to his room, he turned back to the man. “Excuse me.”
“Yes, sir?”
“My friend recommended me this hotel when I was ever in town. He stayed here about a month ago, but I’m not sure if he is still around. His name is Howard Stanley. Would you happen to be able to see if he is still checked in?”
The man looked hesitant for a moment. “I’m not supposed to give information about our other guests.” He looked around, but didn’t saw any of his other colleagues or hotel guests around. “Mr. Stanley checked back in a couple nights ago. He is staying on the fourth floor on the south side, room 405. His usual room.”
Zane smiled. “Thank you so much, Kyle. I’m sure he will love to see me.”
Zane headed up to his room first. It was on the fifth floor, one floor above Howard Stanley. He dropped his suitcase on the bed and settled in. He was going to confront him, see who the guy was and why he was doing it.
Since Kyle had told him this was the better side, he looked outside through the window. Kyle hadn’t lied about the view; it was absolutely beautiful. Even though it was dark outside, he could see the moon lightning the ocean view. He thought about his life, the people he had around him and the ones he had lost to get where he was right now. He had come a long way, but it wasn’t over yet.
He picked up his room key and his shoulder bag, which contained the printed out folders before he left the room. He took the elevator one floor down before stepping out. After a moment of orientation, he headed to the room.
“Zane?”
Zane turned around to find Gabriel standing there. It was a surprise to see him as he hadn’t expected him here.
“Gabriel, what a pleasant surprise,” Zane said in his most surprised voice. “I didn’t know you were staying here.”
“This is the only hotel around the city that has decent food,” he said with a smile. “It’s been a while.”
That was true. After he had come by the house and had that minor incident with Adrian, he had last talked to him to tell him that Adrian didn’t want anything to do with him. The man had left and that was a month ago.
“It has,” Zane agreed. “I thought you may went back to California.”
Gabriel’s eyes were staring right into Zane’s. “I had some business on the east coast to take care off. I’m heading to California soon when all of that is settled.”
“You were always the one who wanted to expand your horizon.”
Gabriel held up his shoulders with a smile on his face. “What can I say? I go where the money takes me,” he whinked. “So, what brings you here?”
“You know,” Zane shrugged. “The usual business trip. I wanted to get a head start tomorrow, instead of having to wake up at the crack of dawn.”
“Does that mean you have time for a drink with me like the good old days?” He leaned in, the scent of alcohol already on his lips.”I stole a good bottle of bourbon from downstairs,” he said as he
“I thought you stopped drinking.” The tone of his voice was serious.
Gabriel was nearly tripping over his own feet until Zane caught him. He grabbed him by the arm and put it over his neck for more support while he held him up. It felt like the last time he had dragged him away like that, it had been the day that he had found Adrian all beaten up by him as well.
“I thought you stopped drinking,” Gabriel said, mimicking Zane’s voice before he began to laugh. “Come on, Zane. Stop being so boring. You used to be so much more fun when we met. What happened to him? Remember those lonely nights together,” Gabriel said, his finger trailing over Zane’s chest.
“I grew up and became a man., a husband and a father.” He started to drag him forward, helping him to wherever his room was. “What room are you staying in?”
“Four oh… something.” Gabriel was fumbling around his his pocket, trying to find something. Zane guessed it was his room1 key. At least he was on the right floor, but if Zane hadn’t been here, he may not have reached his room.
He took out his room key and handed it to Zane. He looked at the number on the card.
405.
Howard Stanley’s usual room. Kyle had said he checked in, but not that he had checked out yet. If Gabriel was staying in that room, he was Howard Stanley or staying with him. Zane tried not to react of what he already figured out, not wanting to jump to conclusions before he got the answers he needed as he helped his friend further.
As he reached the room he was already heading to, he opened the door with the room key he was given and the door flung open. He didn’t know if Gabriel knew that he knew, but he was definitely going to confront him later. Zane wasn’t going to ambush him while he was drunk, even though it would be easier to get answers out of him. He wanted to give Gabriel the chance to explain himself soberly.
“There we go.” Zane put Gabriel down on his bed and stepped back. “You should go sleep. We could go get breakfast tomorrow morning and catch up.”
Zane headed toward the door of the room. Little too late did he saw Gabriel get off the bed and reaching out to him. He could feel the sudden pain at the back of his head where the hard object hit him. Shards of glass flew around the room, bourbon mixed with fresh blood. The pain of a friend’s betrayal was too much before he lost his conscious.

The obeastie feasted.
Today started out well enough.
Then my best friend asked me to go out for dinner. I thought “Ok, I can do this.”, since I’d only consumed 405 calories the entire day.
Of course she decided we should get tacos.
Carnitas.
Deep.
Fried.
Pork.
asasdjfkl;asdfkjfasf....
The meal was easily 2000+ calories on it’s own. So I’m probably looking at a 3000 calorie intake today. I ate it but I felt like garbage afterwards-- like physically sick. I realized that my body was used to lighter foods now and the fried stuff was wreaking havoc on my guts.
Like I thought, my friends are bad for my health. Eating out seems to be what our activities are based upon, and whenever I tried dieting before they’d set me back immensely and it would cause me to give up. Not this time.
This time there is a pandemic is going on and our work schedules rarely align anymore. So I’m cutting down my visits to once a month. I’m going to do my best to try not to eat out at all with them if I can help it... Maybe I can steer them to just going shopping or playing card games together?
If we do go out to eat again, we’re going somewhere I can check the calories on the menu items, or I’m getting a doggy bag for the majority of the food first. Out of sight, out of mind.
Damage control starts now and I’m confident I can counteract the trash I just ate. I’ve set a strict 500cal limit for tomorrow’s meal plan. That’s one serving of the pasta with sauce and one serving of grapefruit. I usually fast from 6am-8pm because I’m asleep on account of my work schedule. So this won’t be a problem at all!
(I can do it!)-- ʕ•́ᴥ•̀ʔっ

Answers (1)
· Given that,
Tesla Motors needs to buy axles for their new car. They are considering using Chris Cross Manufacturing as a vendor. Tesla’s requirement is that 95% of the axles are 100 cm ± 5 cm. The following data is MegaStat output from a test run from Chris Cross Manufacturing:
Descriptive statistics count: 16 mean: 99.938 sample variance: 2.313 sample standard deviation: 1.521 minimum: 97 maximum: 102.9 range: 5.9 population variance: 2.169 population standard deviation: 1.473 standard error of the mean: 0.380 tollerance interval 95.45% lower: 96.896 tolerance interval 95.45% upper: 102.979 half-width: 3.042
1st quartile: 98.900 median: 99.850 3rd quartile: 100.475 interquartile range: 1.575 mode: 98.900 Now, we have to construct 95% confidence interval for the data from
the Chris Cross Manufacturing
(TCO D) A PC manufacturer claims that no more than 2% of their machines are defective. In a random sample of 100 machines, it is found that 4.5% are defective. The manufacturer claims this is a fluke of the sample. At a .02 level of significance, test the manufacturer’s claim, and explain your answer.

Set up the hypotheses:
H0: p <= 0.02
Ha: p > 0.02
This is a one tailed test, since we will only reject for high proportions.
Since we are using a 0.02 level of significance (it’s just chance that the hypotheses happen to have the same value as this), we’ll reject the null hypothesis if our P Value is less than 0.02.
The computed P value from Megastat was 0.0371.
This is higher than the significance level.
Therefore, we do not reject H0:.
We can say that the proportion is still less than or equal to 2%, and this was a fluke.

(15 points) (B) Referring to the above table, given that the visitor is from the Midwest, what is the probability that he or she visited a local park? (15 points)
a. Total people = 2459

1773/2459 = approx 0.721
b.
Total Midwest = 298

(TCO B) Historically, 70% of your customers at Rodale Emporium pay for their purchases using credit cards. In a sample of 20 customers, find the probability that
exactly 14 customers will pay for their purchases using credit cards.
(TCO C) An operations analyst from an airline company has been asked to develop a fairly accurate estimate of the mean refueling and baggage handling time at a foreign airport. A random sample of 36 refueling and baggage handling times yields the following results.
Sample Size = 36 Sample Mean = 24.2 minutes Sample Standard Deviation = 4.2 minutes
Compute the 90% confidence interval for the population mean refueling and baggage time.
(TCO C) The manufacturer of a certain brand of toothpaste claims that a high percentage of dentists recommend the use of their toothpaste. A random sample of 400 dentists results in 310 recommending their toothpaste.
Compute the 99% confidence interval for the population proportion of dentists who recommend the use of this toothpaste.
(TCO D) A Ford Motor Company quality improvement team believes that its recently implemented defect reduction program has reduced the proportion of paint defects. Prior to the implementation of the program, the proportion of paint defects was .03 and had been stationary for the past 6 months. Ford selects a random sample of 2,000 cars built after the implementation of the defect reduction program. There were 45 cars with paint defects in that sample. Does the sample data provide evidence to conclude that the proportion of paint defects is now less than .03 (with a = .01)? Use the hypothesis testing procedure outlined below.
Formulate the null and alternative hypotheses.
(TCO D) A new car dealer calculates that the dealership must average more than 4.5% profit on sales of new cars. A random sample of 81 cars gives the following result.
Sample Size = 81 Sample Mean = 4.97% Sample Standard Deviation = 1.8%
Does the sample data provide evidence to conclude that the dealership averages more than 4.5% profit on sales of new cars (using a = .10)? Use the hypothesis testing procedure outlined below.
Formulate the null and alternative hypotheses.
(TCO E) Bill McFarland is a real estate broker who specializes in selling farmland in a large western state. Because Bill advises many of his clients about pricing their land, he is interested in developing a pricing formula of some type. He feels he could increase his business significantly if he could accurately determine the value of a farmer’s land. A geologist tells Bill that the soil and rock characteristics in most of the area that Bill sells do not vary much. Thus the price of land should depend greatly on acreage. Bill selects a sample of 30 plots recently sold. The data is found below (in Minitab), where X=Acreage and Y=Price ($1,000s).

H0: p <= 0.02
