The attackers then disguise themselves as a trustworthy friend or entity to acquire sensitive information, typically through email or other online messaging.

How does spear phishing work?
This familiarity is what makes spear phishing attacks successful. Attackers collect information from social media about potential targets, including their personal and professional relationships and other personal details. The attacker uses this information to craft a personalized message that looks and sounds authentic to convince the target to respond to the sender’s request. The sender may request that the user reply directly to the email, or the message may include a malicious link or attachment that installs malware on the target's device, or directs the target to a malicious website that is set up to trick them into giving sensitive information like passwords, account information or credit card information.
Spear phishing characteristics
Spear phishing can be more difficult to identify than phishing attacks due to the personal details that give the messages an air of validity. However, some of the characteristics that are common to phishing emails are also common to spear phishing emails:
The sender’s email address is spoofed. The email address looks like it’s from a trusted individual and/or domain, but closer inspection reveals a typographical error or the exchange of one alphanumeric character for another that closely resembles it (such as the letter “I” replaced with the number one).
A sense of urgency, particularly as it relates to performing a task that goes against company policy. Attackers evoke a sense of urgency to exploit the recipient’s desire to do good or to simply be helpful. For example, posing as the target’s direct supervisor, an attacker may ask for the username and password for an internal application so that they can fulfill a critical request from upper management in a timely manner, rather than wait for IT to reset their password.
Poor grammar, typographical errors or unlikely language within the body of the message. The body of the email does not sound like other messages from the supposed sender. A Nutshell Summary of The Emergency Alert System
Any city or country with a lot of people and a lot of land needs a quick and effective way to warn all of its residents of dangerous events that threaten their safety, lives or property. For America, this need is filled by the Emergency Alert System (EAS).
The EAS was implemented in 1997 as a replacement for the Emergency Broadcast System. Major technical improvements and data-based alert transmission procedures set the EAS apart from its predecessor. It is jointly coordinated by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
The EAS Process
The EAS has four major components in its design:
A digitally coded header, utilizing a binary based system called Specific Area Message Encoding (S.A.M.E.)
A dual-tone attention signal
An audio or text announcement
And a S.A.M.E. end-of-message marker
The SAME header is the most crucial part of the alert. It contains encoded information about: who sent the alert, what’s happening, where it’s happening, how long it’s expected to last, exactly when the alert was sent and the ID of the station that relayed it. Every radio and tv station has devices that can encode and decode these alerts. In a matter of seconds, everything you need to know about an emergency can be sent and received between various stations.
A Word of Caution: Any media that contains authentic SAME header tones can potentially activate real EAS hardware when broadcasted through certain outlets, such as radio and TV, resulting in real, erroneous alerts. Misuse of EAS tones, including the attention signal, is punishable under US law. Please be careful and responsible with anything that may contain authentic EAS tones.

The best utility of this binary encoding and decoding system is that it has a wide list of three-letter ‘event codes’ for various types of emergencies. This expands it usage to local incidents as well as larger state, weather related or even national emergencies. For example: a tornado warning has the event code TOR. Civil danger warning? CDW. And so on.
National Emergency Protocol
The biggest thing that needed to be improved from the EBS, of course, was the promising but fatally flawed Emergency Action Notification process. An EAN message was one commended directly by the President and had to be authenticated manually using a code word sheet that was changed every month.
While still imperfect, the EAS simplified and streamlined the process. When an alert is directed by the President, his representative or by the White House, a series of Primary Entry Point Stations initiate the Emergency Action Notification, sending the event code EAN in a SAME encoded alert to every station they can. Once those stations receive the alert, they must stop all programming, relay the alert to other stations and begin serving as an emergency information outlet for their designated area. Other stations that receive the alert then repeat the cycle, creating a daisy-chain network of emergency channels for every listening area across the country. Once activated, an EAN cannot be discontinued until a special Emergency Action Termination message (event code EAT) is sent by the White House.
The EAN has been undergoing annual tests since 2011. In a later post, I will discuss the issues, flaws and progress in the EAN process. For now, I hope this gives a good summary of how America’s EAS works and what it’s like.

Since 1983, CMN has raised over $5 billion to help more than 10 million children who have been served by the organization. Of all the money that is donated 12% of it goes towards equipment and 88% goes towards special services.  
     Children Miracle Network service 170-member hospitals that provide 32 million treatments a year to children across the U.S. and Canada. The organization depend on donations and community supports to help make it possible for all sick children to be cured of any sickness that keep them down. Social media provide a platform for people all over the world to be able to donate and give back to children who have no one else to count on.      The Children Miracle Network would use all their platforms equally. After doing careful research and looking at the information provided on each platform the organization dispatch mostly the same content to all the platforms. From the data above there is a lot more engagement within the Facebook network, with twitter coming second. For the Children Miracle Network Hospital to reap full benefit they must distribute the same amount of information for the users can stay updated. Their strategy is to connect to as many people as they can to gain as much funds possible to keep replace equipment and to be able to provide service to as many children as possible.
     Social commerce strategies are ways that marketers can approach social commerce (the ability to buy and sell) among the people they engage. There are six key contributors to social commerce. According to Tuten & Solomon (2018), “Social commerce offers enables the marketers to monetize the social media investment by boosting site and store traffic, converting browsers to buyers, and increasing average order value. It solves the dilemma of social media return on investment. Social commerce applications result in more data about customer behavior as it relates to the brand. , today announced the appointment of Valorie Brown Loomer as its new CEO.
RoboKind holds patents for and manufactures robots that are paired with innovative software as a service (SaaS) learning programs focused on social-emotional and vocational learning for people on the autism spectrum, as well as STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) and coding programs to help all students become more college- and career-ready in an age of rapidly advancing robotic technology across industries.
For Loomer, this role is a culmination of the past 25 years of her work in education and education technology. After being diagnosed with a speech impediment and having a special education IEP (individual education plan), herself, she overcame the communication challenges she faced in the classroom, going on to become a Baylor University Presidential Scholar. Loomer began her career as a special education teacher and proponent of assistive technology, working at both the elementary and secondary levels as a teacher in New York and Texas, working for Round Rock ISD, Austin ISD, and as a New York City Board of Education Scholar.
She has since worked as an advocate and senior management leader with a variety of learning, technology, and publishing companies, including partnering in projects like the IDEAWorks! Digital Curriculum Software from Harcourt (now Houghton Mifflin Harcourt), Dell’s Connected Classroom initiative, Microsoft’s Global Education Partner Network, and CDW-G’s K-12 Classroom Technology Program.
Loomer has held various senior management roles in education technology. She has seen first-hand the benefits of leveraging technology, accompanied by strong instructional content and professional development for educators, to accelerate and enhance learning and growth for all students. She begins her new role at RoboKind at a key tipping point in the company’s growth, bringing her knowledge and expertise in working with schools, districts, state departments of education, and ministries of education all over the world.

The arrival of Technicolor Academy and new Mill Movie studio in Adelaide this year is opening numerous task opportunities to local skill in Australia and more afield.
Among those discovering an amazing career course opening in their house town are Flinders University digital media graduates Amy Nguyen and Courtney Paech.
