CW98 weigh-in results
Athletes from seven European countries met in Birmingham today to kick off CW98 fight weekend, and weighed in for tomorrow night’s huge card at the Genting Arena.
In the CW98 main event, welterweight champion Stefano Paternò puts his title on the line at against the undefeated Ross ‘The Hitman’ Houston. The Italian champion came in at 169.1lbs before locking heads with Houston, who came in at 169.4lbs, in the first stare down since the fight was announced. Whatever happens in the cage, the undisputed king of the European Welterweight ranks will be decided tomorrow night.
With Alan Carlos not able to compete at CW98, his bout with Yannick Bahati was removed from the card in an announcement yesterday, making the Featherweight Title eliminator bout between Scotland’s Paull McBain (145.6lbs) and hometown hero Aiden Lee (145.9lbs) – one of the critics’ early picks for fight of the night – Birmingham’s co-main event.
On the other side of the tournament draw, Dean Truman (145.2lbs) meets Lewis Monarch (145.3lbs) for a shot at the belt. Both men also made weight without issues, meaning we’ll have a world title fight decided by the time tomorrow night is over.
Welterweights Adam Proctor and Angelo Rubino took to the scales at 170.7lbs and 170.9lbs respectively. Proctor’s multi-fight Cage Warriors deal was one of the most exciting signings of 2018, but Rubino proved he’s a problem for anyone in Europe after finishing his last fight via liver-kick TKO. There’ll be plenty of eyes on this one to see which man moves up the massively competitive Cage Warriors welterweight ranks.
Opening up the main card is a lightweight contest between Norway’s Alexander Jacobsen (155.6lbs) and the U.K’s Perry Goodwin (155.3lbs). Both men have devastating power and the ability to end the fight at will, so the odds of this one reaching the later rounds are slim.
Further down the card, expect a seriously exciting MMA showcase from new signing Alex Lohore (169.8lbs) in his bout with Sam Boult (170.9lbs), and a high-level striker vs grappler clash when Adam Aramasinghe (134.9lbs) meets Scott Malone (135.8lbs).
Doors at the Birmingham Genting Arena open at 4.30pm, with the first amateur fight underway at 5.30pm. Those at the arena can meet UFC legend Dan Hardy, world-famous MMA official Marc Goddard, UFC Flyweight Molly McCann, Cage Warriors octagon girl Edith Labelle and No1 bantamweight title contender Jack Shore at the fan Meet and Greet, free for all ticket holders.
Limited tickets are still available HERE and on the door on Saturday night, but fans are advised to book early this week to avoid disappointment.
The CW98 Pro Prelims (from 6.45pm UK time) will be LIVE and FREE worldwide on the Cage Warriors Facebook page, before the Main Card kicks off at 9pm on BT Sport 2 and UFC Fight Pass.

CW98 fight card and broadcast details
It’s fight week! With just days to go until Cage Warriors return to Birmingham with one of their strongest cards of the year, here are the fights you should be looking out for and how to watch them around the world.
In the CW98 main event, welterweight champion Stefano Paternò puts his title on the line at against the undefeated Ross ‘The Hitman’ Houston. The Italian champion, now on a seven-fight win streak, captured the title with a first-round knockout of Mehrdad Janzemini at CW95 in London back in July. On that same event, Houston dominated with a rear-naked choke victory over Nathan Jones. This Saturday, the top welterweight in Europe will be decided.
The co-main event sees Yannick Bahati, a local Birmingham name who has finished 7 of his past opponents by either KO or submission, come up against ‘The Brazilian Viking’ Alan Carlos. Also on the card is a four-man featherweight title tournament, which will see the winners of Aiden Lee vs Paull McBain and Dean Trueman vs Lewis Monarch face off at CW100 later in the year.
Other big fights not to miss include rising UK prospect Adam Proctor vs Italy’s Angelo Rubino, and new signing Alex Lohore vs Sam Boult.
After helping to build thriving MMA scenes in Liverpool, London, Cardiff and across Europe, Cage Warriors President Graham Boylan now eyes Birmingham as a new hotspot for rising talent. This Saturday will be Cage Warriors’ first visit to Birmingham in 8 years.
“We’ve given fighters from all over Europe the chance to showcase their skills in their hometown,” says Boylan. “We’re excited to now give that opportunity in Birmingham, an exciting city for the promotion and for the sport.”
Doors at the Birmingham Genting Arena open at 4.30pm, with the first amateur fight underway at 5.30pm. 3 new bouts announced for CW106: Night of Champions
The biggest card in Cage Warriors history continues to grow, now including more exciting rising names in the featherweight, lightweight and welterweight divisions.
First up is an electric featherweight bout between Morgan Charriere and Lewis Monarch, two men who narrowly lost out on the featherweight title in the last 12 months and are now beginning a climb back toward the gold.
In their last appearances, Monarch faced Dean Trueman at CW98 in the featherweight title tournament, and Charriere took on Søren Bak in an Interim Featherweight title fight at CW103. With both men taking the division’s top contenders to the final bell in highly competitive contests, they’ve proven they can hang with the best and have now set the stage for one of the most intriguing non-title bouts on Cage Warriors’ 2019 calendar.
In the Welterweight division, Irish prospect Ian Garry returns to the cage after staging an early contender for fight of the year with James Sheehan at CW101. He’ll face UK name Tayo Odunjo in a superbly matched battle between two newcomers who have made very impressive starts to their pro careers.
The third bout to be confirmed is a lightweight contest between Jabeed Rahman and  London’s own Josh Onwordi, who will walk out in his hometown in the biggest fight of his career to date. Rahman has made a perfect start to his fighting career, with an unbeaten amateur record of 9-0 and a win in his pro debut.
These fights will stack the undercard before the mammoth CW106 ‘Night of Champions’ main card begins, featuring 6 world title fights: Jack Grant vs Jai Herbert, Nicolas Dalby vs Ross Houston, James Webb vs Nathias Frederick, Dean Trueman vs Mads Burnell, Marthin Hamlet vs Modestas Bukauskas and a final bout to be announced.
Tickets for CW106: Night of Champions – Cage Warriors biggest event of all time – are on sale HERE.

3 new bouts announced for CW100
3 new bouts announced for CW100 - http://mmauk.net/2018/10/29/3-new-bouts-announced-for-cw100/
3 new bouts announced for CW100
With just over a month left until the biggest event in the promotion’s history, Cage Warriors have announced Jai Herbert v Joe McColgan, Scott Malone v Josh Reed and Håkon Foss v Aaron Khalid for CW100 on December 8th.
Just last week, Cage Warriors president Graham Boylan announced in a tweet that his December 8th card has grown even bigger and better than expected, and that CW100 will be one for the history books.
“This card is seriously getting out of control,” he said. “Knowing the fights we have agreed and contracted, I genuinely believe this fight card is going to be a show for the ages. Fights I didn’t think would happen are ON.”
In the first of a new batch of fights to be announced, Jai Herbert takes on Joe ‘The SBG Hunter’ McColgan in the lightweight division, pitting two of Europe’s finest strikers against each other. With Herbert, who fights at Team Renegade under UFC veteran Tom Breese, due to fight at CW98 earlier in the month but forced off the card due to injury, he’s raring to get back under Cage Warriors lights. He’ll face a stern test in McColgan, whose last fight with Sean Carter at CW86 was one of the very best striking wars we saw in 2017.
Also just confirmed is a bantamweight match up between Scott Malone and Welsh fan favourite Josh Reed. Malone is fresh off a huge TKO victory against Adam Aramasinghe at CW98, and is ready to spoil the Cardiff party with another finish to close off the year. Home country hero Reed will have other ideas, and with 6 of his 7 wins coming within the distance, fans have come to expect nothing less than absolute fireworks when he steps in the cage.
Reed’s teammate, Jack Shore, will headline CW100 in a bantamweight title fight with Mike Ekundayo – two unbeaten prospects at the top of their game.
In the Welterweight division, Sweden’s Håkon Foss takes on Aaron Khalid, another Welshman looking to secure the home victory on December 8th. Both men took less than a round to finish their last opponents, and are looking to climb the incredibly stacked Cage Warriors welterweight roster toward the title currently held by Ross Houston.
CW100 takes place at the Cardiff Ice Arena on December 8th. As well as CW100’s huge main event between Shore and Ekundayo, already confirmed on the card is a featherweight title fight between Aiden Lee and Dean Trueman, and a massive welterweight war between UFC veteran Nicolas Dalby and Ireland’s Phil Mulpeter.
  Tickets are still available HERE.
  Cage Warriors 100 Fight Card
Jack Shore vs Mike Ekundayo – Bantamweight Title Fight
Aiden Lee vs Dean Trueman – Featherweight Title Fight
Nicolas Dalby vs Philip Mulpeter – Welterweight
Paddy Pimblett vs Donovan Desmae – Lightweight
Jai Herbert vs Joe McColgan – Lightweight
Scott Malone vs Josh Reed – Bantamweight

Cage Warriors sign Rhys McKee to exclusive deal

Cage Warriors sign Rhys McKee to exclusive deal
Top Northern Irish prospect Rhys ‘Skeletor’ McKee is the latest addition to Cage Warriors growing list of 50+ signings this year, confirming a multi-fight deal with Europe’s leading MMA promotion.
With a 100% finish rate across all of his 9 professional fights, Rhys McKee has established himself as a formidable force on the European lightweight scene and has now joined the list of elite talent on the Cage Warriors roster.
The stacked Cage Warriors lightweight division is currently home to reigning champion Søren Bak, Liverpool star Paddy ‘The Baddy’ Pimblett and surging prospects Jack Grant, Joe McColgan and Mason Jones.
In a recent interview with MMAFighting.com, McKee said: “A lot of the major [promotions] approached us… but Cage Warriors was the only one who I was really interested in talking to.
“I believe I’m going to climb through the division and get the title. Cage Warriors provide the platform, and I’ll provide the knockouts.”
In just the last few months alone, Cage Warriors have signed top European names Alex Lohore, Adam Proctor, Tim Barnett and ex-UFC veteran Mads Burnell to exclusive multi-fight deals, shaping an incredibly exciting vision for the promotion in the near feature.
“We’re continuously working hard to build the sport and our athletes, it’s simply what we do,” says Cage Warriors President Graham Boylan. “Rhys McKee is a super exciting addition to the Cage Warriors family. We’ve got some massive shows lined up across the map for the end of this year and the beginning of next, to ensure that Rhys and our other new signings have a platform to compete and showcase themselves very soon.”
Cage Warriors next event takes them to Birmingham’s Genting Arena for CW98, headlined by a Welterweight title fight between champion Stefano Paterno and Ross Houston, with a featherweight title eliminator tournament also on the card. After that, CW99 in Colchester and the historic CW100 back in the Cardiff Ice Arena close off a huge year for Europe’s leading MMA promotion.
What’s more, with 3 events in 15 days just announced for the beginning of 2019 in Liverpool, London (now taking place on Saturday March 2nd) and Copenhagen, Cage Warriors’ mission to showcase the best in European MMA is showing no signs of slowing.

Cage Warriors promise to stage the biggest event in the promotion’s history for CW100, already confirming first names Paddy Pimblett, Jack Shore, Nicolas Dalby and more for December 8th.
After 16 years of events across the world, it’s almost time for Europe’s leading MMA promotion to mark their 100th event with the biggest names they’ve ever put together on one night.
CW100 will take place on December 8th at Cardiff’s Ice Arena, the venue that recently played host to a sold-out crowd at CW97. After talks with the venue and local authorities, Cage Warriors are delighted to announce they will open the arena up to its absolute maximum capacity to meet the high demand for CW100 and are expecting another quick sell-out. For a very limited time only, tickets have been released with a 20% off early bird discount.
Welsh super-prospect Jack Shore, now unbeaten in 12 amateur and 9 professional fights, will fight for the world bantamweight title.
“I can’t thank the Welsh fans enough for the support they’ve shown me throughout my career, and now its time to finally bring the title home for them,” says Shore. “Cage Warriors in Cardiff was an unforgettable night and CW100 will top it. I’ll make sure of that.”
Another of Europe’s most talked-about young prospects is Paddy Pimblett, who will also appear at CW100. Pimblett has provided Cage Warriors fans with some of the craziest memories in the promotions 16-year history and is ready to step up for their biggest night yet.
Pimblett said: “Cage Warriors 100 is a historic night for European MMA and so they need the Baddy there. The Welsh fans always show love so I can’t wait to put on a show for them. Like everyone already knows, I’m never in a boring fight.”
Also confirmed for the CW100 card is the return of UFC vet and former Cage Warriors champion Nicolas Dalby, Northern Irish lightweight Joe McColgan and Welsh fan favourites Josh Reed and Kris Edwards.
The night will also feature a title fight between the finalists of Cage Warriors’ featherweight title tournament, to be decided at CW98 this month. That’s at least two title fights confirmed for December 8th!
“I’m going to have to turn my phone off because every fighter on the roster is calling me up wanting a piece of CW100,” said Cage Warriors President Graham Boylan. “I can promise fans a night like no other for this one. This event is for everyone who’s followed us on the Cage Warriors journey until now.”
Many more big names are still to be announced. Tickets for CW100 are on sale HERE, with a very limited run of early birds at 20% off. Joint tickets to both CW100 and Polaris 8 (which takes place on Sunday 8th) are also available at a discounted price.

Cage Warriors announce 3 early 2019 events
Cage Warriors announce 3 early 2019 events - http://mmauk.net/2018/09/27/cage-warriors-announce-3-early-2019-events/
Cage Warriors announce 3 early 2019 events
Europe’s leading MMA promotion will continue their momentum into the new year, confirming 3 new shows in 15 days in Liverpool, London and Copenhagen.
2018 has taken Cage Warriors across the continent, from 5 locations in the UK to Gothenburg, Sweden and Antwerp, Belgium with a total of 11 shows. Now, the promotion has announced an aggressive start to 2019 with the following dates. CW101: Liverpool Echo Arena, February 23rd 2019
CW102: London Indigo at the O2, March 3rd 2019
CW103: Copenhagen, Denmark, March 9th 2019 Just this month, Cage Warriors staged their first ever Denmark Academy show to a sold out crowd in Nykøbing to begin building a credible MMA scene in the country. Cage Warriors has played an integral role in developing MMA across Europe in cities such as Liverpool, which hosted their debut UFC event this year after a run of hugely successful Cage Warriors shows between 2016-18, which highlighted the massive fighting talent across the city.
With a growing number of big Denmark names signed to the CW roster – newly crowned lightweight champion Søren Bak, former champion Nicolas Dalby, UFC vet Mads Burnell and Olympic medalist Mark O. Madsen to name just a few – Copenhagen is looking like one of the promotion’s next fighting hubs.
As for London and Liverpool, Cage Warriors’ presence there speaks for itself: this year has seen massive events in both cities, such as the sold-out Super Saturday in March and the major spectacle that was CW96 on September 1st, which saw local hero Paddy Pimblett narrowly lose out on the lightweight belt.
“Our mission is to bring elite-level MMA to audiences across Europe, for both the fans and the fighters who need a platform to perform,” says Cage Warriors President Graham Boylan. “2019 is looking like a massive year for us, with 3 events already announced and more that are very close to being confirmed. If you’re a European fighter who wants to be active, Cage Warriors is the place to be.”
Between now and the end of the year, Cage Warriors busy schedule takes them to the sold-out Ice Arena in Cardiff this Saturday for CW97, to Birmingham for CW98, Colchester for CW99 and Cardiff again for the historic CW100, a night which will have a number of stellar names on the bill.
