A Punkie Lantern in action! With ZEEL singing the Punky Song! YOU could do this too of course...Come and join in the fun on Saturday 30th Oct! 3:30-5:30 pm! At ZEEL's upcoming workshop- Make mangle-wurzel Punkie lanterns the traditional British way with ZEEL. You can't do this at home. Have you ever tried to find a manglewurzle? Link in my bio to book tickets! Way before the Pumpkin reached our shores from the new world of the Americas, folks in the UK were making Punkie-lanterns out of marrows, turnips, and their larger cousin, the mangle-wurzel. Adorned with scary faces as we might expect, but just as likely to be engraved with designs of many kinds from ships to birds and flowers. These punkies would be carried in processions and  put out on doorstep or garden wall as a welcoming display on a misty All Hallows-een.  If you are coming to the musical event later that day- Punkie Night", there is a special package deal! Also, then you can use these Lanterns to more fully enter into the spirit of Punkie Night, as they glow and cheer Kennedy Hall, while the music plays! Also, inclusive in the price of the workshop is a Fantabulous 32 page full colour story picture book by me, the @goldenthreadproject artists @print_wagon , @stephenfowler_rubberstamping , with design by @work-form and a flipping soundtrack by Sharron Kraus! How about that! What a deal! All materials provided. Suitable for all levels of skill. Age range- 7-up. Parental presence necessary.
