Eric and Donna, the College Years...
With no weddings or babies in sight, and a second blissful, long engagement continually under their belt, Eric and Donna enjoy themselves at college. Especially Donna, who truly blossoms into her own. She double majors in journalism and communications, with a minor in political science. She's a DJ at The Island, a columnist for the progressive paper The Beat, and a valued intern at Wisconsin State Journal.
Meanwhile, Eric blossoms academically, and finds his passions, beyond just Star Wars and Donna. History, teaching, and photography. He settles in as an education and history double-major, and puts his all into his senior thesis, revolving around the gnawing parallels between apartheid and Jim Crow.
But unlike Donna, Madison isn't the place for him. He feels it, in his bones. He wants to go back to Cape Town, someday, and traveling during spring and summer breaks fails to truly scratch that itch. He struggles to find friends, true allies, other than his neighbor Dave and his TA and mentor Ben.
But there's always Donna, of course. As his best friend, his fiancee, and truest ally, she's always there, by his side. Helping him take a break from all his immediate worries. After a tough day of delivering pizzas, awkwardly serving drinks, or dealing with demanding customers at Macy's. A tough day banging his head against the paper-thin walls, trying to word something right in his senior thesis.
Or, most importantly, she's there to reassure him, for the long haul, as they make their way in this crazy, crazy world. After dealing with rowdy kids as a student teacher, he questions it all. Is it worth it, to help others, when others refuse to try?
However, when he gets through to a rowdy student, or helps another student on the sidelines, it's all worth it. He can't help everyone, but he can help a handful. And it's worth it. It's so, so worth it, as he puts in his all. For the greater good. With his eventual wife, firmly by his side.
But time passes them by, so, so quickly. In the blink of an eye, their college years come to a firm close, and they prepare to set off for Cape Town in the summer. Of '84, with wedding bands firmly on their fingers, and with babies in their eventual future. Not now, but they'll get there. In due time.

Not only is photography a fun hobby, but it can also be the most inspiring of arts. If you desire to be one of those people, the advice in this article can help you improve.
Make sure you hold the camera correctly. Holding the camera correctly reduces the chance that an inopportune movement ruins your shot. Hold the camera with your arms close to your body and the palm of your hand under the camera to prevent the camera from falling or shaking. Make sure the background you choose complements the subject of the photo. If you take a photo of a model against a busy background, the viewer's attention is going to be drawn to the background rather than the clothes. As a general rule, simple backgrounds with colors that contrast with those of the subject are ideal. Make sure you have the right lighting before taking a photograph. Lighting is perhaps the most important factor in producing a good black and white photograph, because it affects the texture, contrast and shape of the image. Side lighting can produce some dramatic photographs as it creates shadows and highlights the edges of shapes. A great photography tip is to always be aware of your surroundings. wedding photographers cape town shut off your creative vision when you don't have a camera nearby. You should always be looking at things and visualizing. This is a great way to stay fresh creatively and to always be inspired. As a photographer, it is important that you keep your batteries well charged so you never have to miss out on the opportunity to take a great picture. When you use the LCD on your camera or the flash, your camera drains power quickly. If not fully charged, you may miss out on some great shots. If you are really serious about photography, then you might even want to carry extra batteries in your camera bag, so you never miss anything good. Detail some notes on your camera settings when you are taking photos. When you look at your hundreds of shot, it could be difficult to remember where they were taken or your feelings at that time. Use a notepad to write down photo descriptions as well as the file name or number of the photo. Go through the manual that came with your equipment. Even if most cameras are rather intuitive, a manual will explain you what every feature does and how to adjust it. Read your manual and then experiment with your camera. You should feel comfortable much quicker when you take the time to learn about your equipment. When you want to photograph something always look all around you. Even if you are strongly interested by an object you might find something more original right behind you. Think about an atmosphere or an effect that you want rather than an object you are going to build your picture around. Play with the shadow of your object. When a shadow is projected on a distorted surface it adopts interesting shapes. You can even have an original shadow become the subject of your photograph. Arrange the lighting and the background to make shadows change and adopt a shape you want to work with. To create professional pictures of flowers, you can not rely on a natural background, a vase and a table. You need a solid colored background so that the focus is solely on the flowers. Try placing a white or black paper behind it to accomplish this. Decide if you are interested in a subject before you photograph it. Know that if a subject is seeming boring to you, it is going to be boring to future viewers of the image. Take some time to make your shots interesting, and you will be rewarded with better shots. If you have to use your flash, then keep your subject away from walls, especially those that are light colored. Having a busy background or one that is dark will minimize the dark or harsh shadow that comes with using a flash. The best option though is to have enough light that you don't need a flash. Now you know how to transform your photography hobby into an art form. Using this article, you may develop your photography into art you can take pride in. Test some of these ideas out, and remember, sometimes it takes numerous tries to perfect something.

8.  Tarnished Beauty: A Novel by Cecilia Samartin
“Jamilet is a beautiful young woman marred by a shockingly gruesome birthmark. It spills over her back and down her legs, twisting and writhing like a hideous cape of blood, causing her to be shunned by the villagers of her rural Mexican town. In search of medical salvation, this angel with the devil's mark is finally driven to escape north and cross the border illegally to Los Angeles. After acquiring false documents, Jamilet finds work at a mental hospital, where she is assigned to look after Señor Peregrino, an elderly man from Spain who is as disagreeable as he is mysterious. Jamilet is given strict orders to keep her distance, but when he cleverly snags possession of her papers, he bargains to return them upon the condition that she listen to his story. Jamilet begrudgingly agrees, and Señor Peregrino takes her back to the days of his youth, when he embarked upon a mystical and romantic journey along the legendary Road to Santiago in Spain.Jamilet and Señor Peregrino forge a spiritual bond that is more healing to them both than modern medicine could ever be. In an inspiring story of redemption, faith and the enduring power of love, Samartin offers an enlightening perspective on the true meaning of beauty.” (Amazon.com).
9.  The Angel's Game: A Psychological Thriller by Carlos Ruiz Zafón
“In this powerful, labyrinthian thriller, David Martín is a pulp fiction writer struggling to stay afloat. Holed up in a haunting abandoned mansion in the heart of Barcelona, he furiously taps out story after story, becoming increasingly desperate and frustrated. Thus, when he is approached by a mysterious publisher offering a book deal that seems almost too good to be real, David leaps at the chance. But as he begins the work, and after a visit to the Cemetery of Forgotten Books, he realizes that there is a connection between his book and the shadows that surround his dilapidated home and that the publisher may be hiding a few troubling secrets of his own. Once again, Ruiz Zafón takes us into a dark, gothic Barcelona and creates a breathtaking tale of intrigue, romance, and tragedy” (Amazon.com)

“When novelist Manuel Ortigosa learns that his husband, Álvaro, has been killed in a car crash, it comes as a devastating shock. It won’t be the last. He’s now arrived in Galicia. It’s where Álvaro died. It’s where the case has already been quickly closed as a tragic accident. It’s also where Álvaro hid his secrets. The man to whom Manuel was married for fifteen years was not the unassuming man he knew. Álvaro’s trail leads Manuel deep into one of Spain’s most powerful and guarded families. Behind the walls of their forbidding estate, Manuel is nothing but an unwelcome and dangerous intruder. Then he finds two allies: a stubbornly suspicious police lieutenant and Álvaro’s old friend—and private confessor—from seminary school. Together they’re collecting the pieces of Álvaro’s past, his double life, and his mysterious death. But in the shadows of nobility and privilege, Manuel is about to unravel a web of corruption and deception that could be as fatal a trap for him as it was for the man he loved.” (Amzon.com).

Your memories are important to us. Capturing the emotion of the moment is what we do best. Although we only offer one package, we don't believe that one size fits all - when it comes to your special day. That's why we invite you to be a part of the budget planning.
Our hope is that you'll be inspired to create your dream wedding and have it beautifully captured on your terms - no matter your budget.
