I would never have turned in the Rose Bearing Maggot that @light-lost-logs gifted me during Hallowmas. Especially because I just stuck at 33 masquing for like five days as I kept drawing to get more masq but not spending it :v

buttered chess-piece: what advanced skills do you think your oc(s) would canonically have the most knowledge of?

A Player of Chess, Zeefaring, and Mithridacy as learned skills. He has always been obsessed with spycraft, so he learned APoC and Mith when he found out they're useful - politics and doublespeak, as it were. Zailing was originally something he did just to travel from place to place, but his zee loving teacher (@capn-twitchery and @adorablegorilla ) gave him a new lease on the Zee.

For what he just gets somehow:tm:, Monstrous Anatomy and Shapeling arts. He doesn't even really go out to Learn about these two he's just good at arranging and rearranging bodies. He should definitely think about these more often, but he's just there :tm:.

I've only been an exceptional friend for six months now (since Slobgollion) and I quite like the the turmoil Cardiac had with the Sun-touched gardener. Destroying a unique plant to prevent theft was not his best idea, but what's done is done.

The Portinari dance hall was interesting, and I've still got the thing after running that 90% chance 25+ times now :) Plus I think he would actually invest in something so risky and have it just 'work' way longer than it should

DELTARUNE YUGIOH DECK HEADCANONS (purely as a joke and thought exercise)

kris: as a person in the world, i think they would use one of those insane igknight ftk decks. they are a gamer. as the player character, probably a utopia deck.

susie: my first thought was red dragon archfiend; obscene raw attack power, loud and full of fire and spikes and shit. but i feel like with her development in chapter 2 she would lean towards something ever so slightly more defensive? or at the very least play rda more cautiously.

ralsei: i feel like if pressed he would use one of those old fashioned nurse burn decks, you know the one, with that effect that makes healing effects do damage instead. plausible deniability of having a deck full of spell cards and effects that heal, along with kuribohs and an obscenely strong generic extra deck

noelle: frightfur would fit her combination creepypasta/war criminal aesthetic from snowgrave, but i dont think i want to do that. like kris, she's also a gamer; i imagine she runs something more traditional like dark magician, or something built specifically to counter kris as part of a friendly competition.

berdly: he has plenty of bird themed archetypes to work with (blackwing comes to mind) but i feel like he would either A) use a current, 'Optimized'™️ meta deck like swordsoul or B) use cyber dragons. he would still lose to kris. and susie. and noelle.

lancer: jack's knight! theres a surprising amount of support for those cards, and if pressed i think it would be fair to make up more, the same way arc-v did for ancient gear. also like ancient gear i imagine most of the card castle troops use it as well.

rouxls: fun fact, in the ygo arc-v anime there was a one-off archetype of quiz/puzzle themed cards. in terms of actual cards i feel like he would have some nonsense amalgamation of incohesive stuff in a 60 card deck. he has no clue what he's doing.

queen: im torn between at ignister and code talkers for her, though at ignister would probably fit her goofiness more. theyre both computer-based and strong enough for a boss character.

sweet capn cakes: either junk or morphtronics, though i'm leaning towards the latter. either way, they'd be heavily synchro based, i feel.

spamton: weirdly enough my brain wants to say pure artifacts for him? that or some other light-themed deck, but i think artifacts fit and i cant quite explain why.

jevil: performapal, without a doubt. clown themed, obscenely powerful, and using a mechanic that very few people fully understand… and in turn, tying into:

seam: pure pendulum magician. same vein as jevil, but more grounded and serious; they can access the same extra deck and side cards like odd-eyes, but from very different openings/perspectives.

gaster: trapped in the shadow realm. the obvious answer is timelords.

dess: also trapped in the shadow realm. i feel like she would have something somewhat outdated, like old school elemental hero.

sans: 40 copies of skull servant.

In my version, they were created as adults already!

I was discussing this with some friends the other day too but like, aside from Lancer and King, I don't think we've seen any other children darkners or "parents" so to speak?? (As in biological parents, so I'm also not counting Queen and Rouxls here hahaha)

We only have two chapters so far but I thought it was interesting...

We have Ralsei as a teen, and also Sweet Capn' Cakes and Clover who some folks also interpret as teens, but I don't think their ages were ever confirmed??

idk, I could be missing someone, but I haven't seen that many people bring up the lack of children :O

Back to Swatch and Spamton though, my Swatch was a prototype Swatchling, so they look a bit smaller than regular swatchlings

And Addisons are I guess manufactured?? Think Steven Universe Pearls which I'm 90% sure was the inspiration for them They're just built all after the same base model, Spamton just happens to have been born defective, so he's smaller

But they weren't children ;v; Maybe they'd be a bit new to the world and need some time to adapt, but they spawn as adults x)
