📍温德姆自助餐 Wyndam Grand Plaza Royale Hotel, Changsha

⭐️⭐️ Pork porridge - it's so good!! very tasty and comes with century egg

⭐️ Seafood porridge - has abalone inside

⭐️ Tofu beancurd - there's a whole array of ingredients to either make it sweet or savoury. I tried mine with osmanthus jam

⭐️ Sweet potato yam balls - there's a soft and tender

⭐️ Stir fried pork with green peppers

Sunny side egg - WITH THE RUNNY YOLK. Other hotels only had ones that has a fully cooked egg

Bamboo shoots - from the noodle section

Fried youtiao

Tea egg

Beef from noodle section - also quite decent

⭐️ Prawn crackers - super crispy and freshly fried. Also super flavourful

Fruits

Coffee bread - was quite disappointing cause it's not as fluffy and a little too bitter

Bread snack from 茶颜悦色 (Cha Yan Yue Se) - it's like pretzel bites from muji

Would definitely recommend this place! Almost everything was a hit!

It's crispy and savoury with a refreshing jasmine flavour. IT'S DARN GOOD.

Meatball soup from 85 Market

⭐️ Puffed rice cracker from China

Bought this from the gift shop exiting from Tianmen. The duller coloured one is more fragrant. It also taste better than some of the street side ones! 五谷杂粮 （wugu za liang)

⭐️ Roa Midnight Cookies

Local cookie brand (SG) served on SCOOT airlines. It has a nice crisp to it, just like famous amos. They definitely cracked the key on the texture. It's also less sweet so it's perfect for a nice snack.

🥖 Floss bun

This was half the bun. It's a slightly upgraded version from Breadtalk because the bread is way more substantial.

Managed to try some of their cheesecake testers and they taste just like the min Japanese cheesecakes during the fairs. YUMS.

Accidentally bought the imitation floss ball. It's definitely less nice. The cream is less mayo-y. But also, the floss isn't crispy ):. Kind of reminds me like Breadtalk but with a cakey bread.

Similar to the other shop, there's a minimum purchase of 2 and they charge by weight

If we didn't try the OG floss ball, this would be alright.

⭐️ Seaweed Floss Ball

The other family was kind enough to let us try this famous floss ball. It's AMAZING. The floss is crispy and the insides are filled with a creamy mayo. SO SINFUL.

Minimum purchase of 2 and they charge by weight

This is the OG floss ball.

📍 整耶耶 (Whole coconut), Changsha

🥥 Signature item (28 Yuan)

It's really whole coconut with coconut jelly inside. Topped with chewy mochi balls and mango. It's a nice treat. Wonder if the drinks taste like Mr Coconut.

We chanced upon a street with many food stalls that sell mini dumplings. They are so cute!

It's off the main road, past the Uniqlo into some sort of gates. There are a few restaurants in the same area. This shop is one of them.

⭐️ Fish - freaking tender and not alot of bones

Veggies

⭐️ Beef with 3 chilis - super good, lots of garlic but way too spicy

Hong shao rou

Smoked blood sausage - tastes just like bacon

⭐️ Pickled long beans? - not sure what it is but it's hella tasty

⭐️🧋 幽兰拿铁 (you lan na tie)

Orchid black tea (for free!) cause they gave someone in my group the cold version instead of the warm. It's much more fragrant here. With a deep taste but a slight tinge of something else.

⭐️🧋 声声乌龙 (sheng sheng wu long)

Peach oolong! No wonder it tasted so good! It's light and tasty with a subtle floral and fruity taste.

⭐️ Found out that you can actually buy the nuts they top the cream with!! WOULD REC GETTING THAT.

⭐️ Stir fried mushrooms - strong mushroom taste

⭐️ Peas with minced pork - this is super tasty even though the peas don't taste like the the sweet pops overseas

⭐️ Steamed egg - so smooth and tasty

Noodles - very meh. our char kway teow is nicer

Soup

Yam with pork - yam itself wasn't very tasty but the pork was nice

Seaweed soup

Smelly tofu - not smelly on the table but the strong pungent smell fills your nostrils after chewing it. 1 is enough and it's definitely not for everyone

⭐️ Jujube (and other fruits) - particularly sweet with a nice mild fragrance. Has a sort of dry ending (cui mi zao)

📍 刘聋子牛肉粉店 (Liu Long Zi Beef Noodles), Changsha

⭐️🍜 红烧牛肉粉

Hong shao beef noodles. The soup has a really intense beefy taste. We couldn't stop drinking it. But there were only a few pieces of tender meat. The noodles were a springier version of our thick rice noodles. Glides into your mouth quickly.

📍 八一桥原味长沙米粉 （Baiyi Bridge Rice Noodles), Changsha

⭐️🍜 特色酱子骨粉 (20 Yuan)

It's a freaking huge beef bone in soothing soup. There's lots of condiments to add to the meal. My favs were the marinated chili garlic and the lard with green chili. Both were spicy.

⭐️🍜 牛肉酱粉 (18 Yuan)

Beef and mushroom noodles. The sauce is more concentrated. It's mushroomy and beefy at the same time. Super tasty! This has definitely less meat than the other bowl but the flavour packs a punch.The noodles here are thick and flat, not exactly what we would classify as mifen

⭐️ 白玉兰 (White Magnolia) (13 Yuan)

It's a classified as a yellow tea. The other sources says it's an oolong with magnolia flavour. This is really nice with a refreshing floral taste. We fell in love with this immediately!

🐟 Sashimi - it's okay. There's a few odd ones, even starfish

🥣 Hashima with papaya and coconut - very mild tasting, not great

🌱 Tempura - couldn't resist but it's way too hard

🌱 Asparagus - well cooked!

🐸 Stir fried spicy frog - probably my favourite dish!! It's darn spicy but super tasty. The meat is also very tender and in smooth chunks

Desserts

🍰 Overall not great. Some were dried out

🍹 Passionfruit drink - not bad. refreshing, a little too sweet

⭐️🍞 Taro bun - omg the bun itself is so pillowy but the filling was sort of sour (spoiled?)

⭐️🍞 Japanese rice bread - harder and chewier than the taro bun. It's great!

⭐️ Sake - yums it's mild and gentle on the palette, contrary tot he very alcohol tasting plum sake

Buffet here is FREAKING HUGE. Chinese food, western griller stuff, Sashimi and seafood, fresh juice, milk tea, sake and wine, hotpot station, desserts and breads

⭐️ Baked lamb chops - very tender and juicy with enough taste

⭐️ Skewers!!

🐷Pork belly - not bad

🍆Eggplant

🦆Duck feet - too tough to eat but flavour is there

👃🏻Smelly tofu - finally trying this! Been seeing it around the streets but was afraid that it wouldn't be very clean

🍊Strange fruit - the tour leader was right, it tastes like nothing and it wasn't that juicy either!

⭐️ Steak

🦪 Grilled oysters - not bad but 2 is enough

🦢 Goose liver - didn't taste like the usual rich jelly. It's drier without that rich taste ): (it's the last pic)

Steamed soup - kind of meh

Tom yum for hotpot - also kind of meh

📍书亦烧仙草 (Shu Yi), Changsha

Tried their signature 书亦烧仙草 (RMB 15)

It's filled with grass jelly and all sorts of other toppings like red bean, peanuts and even nata de coco

Milk tea itself was rather mild.
