CraftWerk: 10 years Lager limited birthday edition
Szép részletes leírás a hátsó címkén, 2/5 komlósság, IBU 28, alkohol 4,6%, 8-10 fokosan ajánlott fogyasztani, grapefruit, mangó és citrom ízjegyek, jól passzol csirkeburgerhez, mangó csatnis szendvicshez.
Összetevők: víz, élesztő, árpamaláták (pilzeni és karamell), komlók (perle, tradition és citra)
Egy egyszerű de nagyszerű kis sör, lehet jó sokat inni belőle!
Egészségünkre!

Schlafly Beer releases a new variety pack, Hazed for Days. Includes Mighty Haze Double IPA, Lightly Hazed Lager, Wavy Citrus Wheat, and Just a Bit Hazy IPA.
Tumblr media
Press Release
ST. LOUIS, MO (Feb. 21, 2023) — Schlafly Beer, the original, independent craft brewery in St. Louis, announces the release of a new variety pack, Hazed for Days, a canned hazy beer variety pack with three exclusive brews – Mighty Haze Double IPA, Lightly Hazed Lager, Wavy Hazy Citrus Wheat – plus the year-round beer Just a Bit Hazy IPA. Not only are IPA’s featured, but hazy lagers and wheat beers round out the selection for the ultimate pack made for hazy-loving consumers. Each pack will include a QR code that will link to the giveaway drawing of Schlalfy’s limited-edition “Batches Be Hazy” swag.
“This new variety pack represents the work we collectively do at Schlafly – from our beer ideation process, to our pilot system trial brews, to pub-only batches, to being part of our full distribution portfolio," says Schlafly Head Brewer, Jared Williamson. “All four beers traveled through our internal process before making their way into the Hazed For Days pack. Each step of the process is important, and it’s exciting to see what started out as obscure little beer ideas now all grown up and getting shipped out to all our various markets.”
The Hazed For Days mixed 12-Pack features three cans of each of the four beers, including:
Mighty Hazy Double IPA (ABV: 8.0%): Our popular year-round IPA, with all its juicy hop flavor, gets turned up for a double IPA with tropical aromatics that come from new-school American hops: Strata and Idaho 7, and the classic Chinook. This creates an even bigger hop-and-haze experience for the drinker.
Lightly Hazed Lager (ABV: 4.5%):  A classic Keller Pils style brew that features Michigan-grown Grunegiest hops, which were first bred at the Hop Research Center in Hüll, Germany.
Wavy Hazy Citrus Wheat (ABV: 4.1%): This wheat beer is fermented with lemon purée which really gives it a bright and tart kick.
Just A Bit Hazy IPA (ABV: 5.0%): This IPA continues to be a top seller year-round and features a blend of Citra, Mosaic, Sabro, Amarillo, and Cascade. It’s all about the perfect blend of hops that gives this the right amount of haze, aroma, and juicy hop flavor.
This 12-pack is available across Schlafly’s distribution for $17.99 as well as Schlafly’s four brewpubs: Schlafly Tap Room in downtown St. Louis, Schlafly Bottleworks in the Maplewood neighborhood of St. Louis, Schlafly Bankside in St. Charles, MO and Schlafly Highland Square in Highland, IL.
About Schlafly Beer: Schlafly Beer, St. Louis’ original independent craft brewery, proudly brews a diverse collection of beers throughout the year. Our brewers use numerous hop varietals, malts, grains, fruits, natural ingredients and yeast strains from around the world to make every Schlafly beer unique. Ernest Brew Works, Toledo OH
9 July 2023
I'd decided to stop at one of the Ernest Brew Works locations that was both open on a Sunday afternoon and had a food truck scheduled. At least they were open ...
Tumblr media
It's an unassuming little location but congenial inside. They do flights of any number up to 6 so I, naturally, went for the full 6:
Tumblr media
#1 - Hibiscus Summer Wheat (5.7%) - This was a truly pleasant beer, with just a hint of hibiscus, lemon, and coriander.
#2 - PWK (Phone - Keys - Wallet) (Hazy IPA, 7.5%) - I loved the name and I loved the beer! This one is brewed with a mix of Citra, Cryo Pop, and Ahhhroma hops. It was almost my favorite of the flight ...
#8 - Earnest Bock (Dark Lager, 5.8%) - In their words, "This beer was brewed with Summer in mind. The body was toned down, the color lightened, and we layered it in order to invoke smoothness." I loved this one -- it was runaway winner for my favorite of the six.
#17 - Oktoberfest (5.9%) - I'd fully expected to like this one the best. It was certainly good, though.
#4 - Mango Habanero New Sincerity (West Coast IPA, 6.9%) - I really must learn to pay more attention to the names of things! I did enjoy this one, but the habaneros (how did I miss that?!?) do add heat on the back end, a bit more than I care for.
#7 - Between the Limes (Sour IPA, 7.2%) - If I'd been in the mood for a good sour beer today, this would have been the one! It had the whole lime flavor, just the right level of sour, and a base of a well-balanced IPA.
According to the website, there was supposed to be a food truck. There wasn't. So the flight was it and I headed off to Maumee Bay Brewing where I've been a couple of times in past years. That's too bad, because I did enjoy the beers and would have liked to have had more, but not on an empty stomach.

Episode #132: Lightning Drops with Chris Tropeano of Resident Culture | Adjunct Series
Our favourite discovery from our recent US trip was craft beer from North Carolina, and the city that blew out all expectations was Charlotte. One of our stops was Resident Culture, and it was mind-blowing stuff so we were super excited to have Co-Founder and Head Brewer Chris Tropeano on the pod. Chris hung out with Cee to chat about his storied craft beer history with Russian River, why he chose Charlotte to open his brewery, their love for lagers and West Coast IPAs, what makes North Carolina beer so special, how they landed their reputation as a hype brewery and the lack of love for mixed fermentation beers. They got into a great series of brews, including Right Time, Riding For The Feeling, Lightning Drops, Radical Empathy, Forever Alone: Citra, and Miami Vice, a great collab with Tripping Animals. Cheers!

Firestone Walker Brewing releases the 19.2 fluid ounce Double Hopnosis, Imperial IPA.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Press Release
Paso Robles, CA: Firestone Walker has doubled down on its signature Hopnosis IPA to create Double Hopnosis—an Imperial Cold IPA made to mesmerize the senses.
Inspired by the iconic West Coast style and brewed with new-age Cryo Hops®, Double Hopnosis (8.3% ABV) delivers massive flavors of tropical fruit and citrus with a hypnotic sense of balance.
Double Hopnosis is now rolling out to Firestone Walker markets in 19.2-ounce cans for ultimate convenience.
“Double Hopnosis is brewed with our favorite emerging hops from the Pacific Northwest and Southern Hemisphere, then extravagantly double dry-hopped with Cryo Hops® to take the flavors and mouthfeel to the next level,” said Brewmaster Matt Brynildson. “We call this our new-school rendition of a classic imperial West Coast IPA.”
Double Hopnosis is dry hopped with liberal amounts of Mosaic Cryo Hops® as well as Citra, Chinook and Vic Secret, and is brewed with a total of nearly five pounds of hops per barrel. Cryo Hops® are made by collecting the concentrated lupulin from whole-leaf hops, which contains the pure resins for bitterness and aromatic oils.
“Cryo Hops® play the same role in Double Hopnosis as they do in the original Hopnosis: provide intense hop aroma and flavor with incredible integration, enabling us to make a hop-forward beer that is low in bitterness, super smooth, and delicious,” Brynildson said.
Like Hopnosis, Double Hopnosis is also fermented with Firestone Walker’s house lager yeast in the Cold IPA style, and it employs proprietary hopping techniques to push tropical thiols to the forefront of the aromatic profile.
“Double Hopnosis has roots in the original era of West Coast imperial IPAs while showcasing the Cold IPA style,” Brynildson said. “The overall experience is modernized by a lower impression of bitterness, a higher rate of tropical character and a new achievement of balance and drinkability.”

Open Beer Championship BRONZE MEDAL Gluten Free Beer, 2016 Great American Beer Festival GOLD MEDAL Gluten Free Beer, 2016 U.S. Open Beer Championship SILVER MEDAL Gluten Free Beer, 2017 U.S. Garnish with fresh mint for a splash of contrasting color and fresh aroma that plays well with the hoppy aromas of the beer.GRAPEFRUIT IPA WINNER: BRONZE MEDAL Gluten Free IPA, 2021 U.S. Add an ice cube or two for a sparkle effect.Fill half (or a little more than half) of the glass with grapefruit beer (see above discussion).Place it so it hugs the inside curvature of the glass which will prevent it from moving around once the glass is filled. For a feast for the eyes place a thinly sliced grapefruit circle inside each glass. The glasses in these pictures are 12 oz stemmed pilsner glasses. Choose a visually pleasing, appropriately sized tall glass. You can spruce up the mixture a tad bit by using simple garnishes to activate more of the senses. Mixing a grapefruit shandy is as easy as pouring beer and soda in a glass. Most importantly – you are in control of the beer to soda ratio and can mix your shandy to suit your individual taste. Secondly, you can choose between a really sweet fruit flavored soda or one with more restrained sugar content. To begin with you are free to select the base beer style and choose a more bitter brew if you please. In our opinion mixing your own shandy is by far a better option to buying a commercially made one. The majority of these ‘pre-mixed’ drinks are overwhelmingly sweet, even though smaller craft breweries seem to be making a serious effort to address this fact by creating more balanced and hoppier versions. You can pretty much go to the store and buy a shandy or a radler. The popularity of shandies and radlers has motivated quite a few breweries to brew beers with their characteristics. Mix your own grapefruit shandy vs buy a commercially pre-mixed shandy There is a confident grapefruit flavor in it, but the bitterness is distinctly American hops. It has a piney and unmistakably grapefruity nose and pours a beautiful burnt orange color (the direct result of Munich malts in the grain bill). It definitely makes sense to refer to it as a grapefruit beer/grapefruit IPA. Citrus Mistress IPA we used for this post is brewed with grapefruit peel in addition to a medley of four hops, one of which Simcoe. Nevertheless many people use the terms and you will be clearly understood if you did too.įor example the Hop Valley Brewing Co. However, they do not comply with the officially defined guidelines of the fruit-beer categories of the Brewer’s Association – American-Style Fruit Beer, Fruit Wheat Beer and Belgian-Style Fruit Beer.Ī grapefruit IPA or a grapefruit beer are then quite loose as notions. In general, IPAs brewed with fruit to enhance the hops are known as fruit IPAs. Other hop varieties known to impart grapefruity flavors and/or aromas are Citra, Mosaic and Nugget.įrequently, beers using these hops are brewed with the addition of grapefruit and are referred to as grapefruit pales or IPAs but grapefruit beer is not a style per se. In the US hops such as S imcoe are sought after for lending a grapefruit like character to the pale ales and IPAs they are most commonly used to flavor. The refreshing citrusy aroma and flavor of grapefruit are especially coveted by craft beer fans. It is known as Lager Top and similarly to Radler’s classic Munich Helles uses lager.īefore I get started praising the virtues of the grapefruit summer shandy craft beer cocktail let me reference the notion of grapefruit beer.
#Grapefruit beer full
The strongest version of a shandy out there consists of pretty much a full glass of beer with just a splash of lemonade. It is perhaps the only way I personally get to truly enjoy this IPA style. I actually love to add freshly squeezed grapefruit juice to a glass about 3/4 full of piney, dunk Pacific Northwest style IPA. This is a popular practice in the US to the horror of many Europeans. In addition to sparkling lemonades and sodas, non carbonated fruit juices can be used to mix a shandy. Neither one tastes anywhere as good and refreshing as a German Zitronenenlimonade though, which is the classic mixer for Radler. In contemporary day Britain, pubs use 7Up or Sprite as the mixer. Initially bitter British ales (sometimes called bitters) were used to mix a shandy whereas today all sorts of beer styles, from lagers to wheat beers are being used. Over time the shandy part remained to mean a beer mixed with a carbonated non-alcoholic beverage. The name Shandygaff was originally used in reference to a blend of beer and ginger root brew. Read on for relevant info and tips (1 min) What is a Shandy?īy definition a shandy is a low alcohol blended beer and the term is thought to have originated in Britain. How to mix a grapefruit shandy – the refreshing version of the popular Bavarian radler and a direct descendant of the Shandygaff.
