Schon im vergangenen Jahr betrat das Agro Innovation Lab (AIL) die Start-up-Bühne. Der Accelerator ist eine Zusammenarbeit des bekannten Handels- und Dienstleistungskonzern BayWa und seinem Ableger RWA Raiffeisen Ware Austria, einem Großhandels- und Dienstleistungsunternehmen der Lagerhausgenossenschaften in Österreich. Die Unternehmen wollen mit ihrem Brutkasten “neue Innovationen für den landwirtschaftlichen Bereich” fördern. Das AIL-Team sucht dabei Unternehmen aus aller Welt, “die an einer Technologie, einem Produkt oder einer innovativen Lösung, die für die Landwirtschaft von Nutzen ist, arbeiten”. “Die Teams werden unter anderem bei der Optimierung ihrer Prototypen, als auch bei der Expansion in neue Märkte unterstützt”, teilt der Brutkasten mit. Und Start-ups, die Landwirte und Bauernhöfe in die Zukunft beamen gibt es bereits einige – siehe “5 AgTech-Start-ups, die jeder kennen sollte“. Wie groß das Segment ist, zeigt auch die AIL-Statistik: Im vergangenen Jahr bewarben sich 160 Start-ups aus 49 Ländern bewarben um die Teilnahme am Programm. “Wir sind stolz, dass das Agro Innovation Lab im vergangenen Jahr auf internationaler Ebene große Aufmerksamkeit erzielen konnte und wir nun bereits das zweite Startup-Acceleration Programm auflegen. Wir freuen uns auch heuer wieder auf zahlreiche Bewerbungen aus der ganzen Welt”, sagt Reinhard Bauer, Geschäftsführer des Agro Innovation Labs. Im vergangenen Jahr schafften es CropTech, ein Monitoring- und Automatisierungssystem aus der Slowakei, Evja, ein computergestütztes Informationssystem aus Italien, Evologic Technologies, einem Hersteller von “effizienteren und kostengünstigeren Produktionsverfahren von arbuskulären Mykorrhizapilzen” aus Österreich und Tevatronic, eine vollautomatisierte Bewässerungssteuerung aus Israel ins Agro Innovation Lab.
