Regrann from @fisioinfantilgeovanacunha - Durante muito tempo, acreditou-se que o Sistema Nervoso Central (SNC), após seu desenvolvimento, tornava-se uma estrutura rígida, que não poderia ser modificada, e que lesões nele seriam permanentes, pois suas células não poderiam ser reconstituídas ou reorganizadas. Hoje, sabe-se que o SNC tem grande adaptabilidade e que cérebros lesados passam por uma reorganização dos seus circuitos. Essa reorganização tem um potencial muito maior quando se trata de crianças. As crianças com deficiência não se resumem a um diagnóstico, e isso vale também para outros transtornos e síndromes. Deve-se considerar o trabalho de diversos profissionais que ajudam a transformar a criança em seres mais autônomos e participativos. A prática pelo estímulo precoce deve iniciar o mais breve possível, pois segundo especialistas, a flexibilidade do cérebro vai diminuindo com a idade.
