The Easter Bunny aka LJ Ross dropped a new DCI Ryan book. I'm a very happy (Easter) Bunny and already half way through the book. I love it so far. Happy to read about new adventures of the criminal investigation department and Ryan's team in famous Northumberland settings. Also, reading this, I hear it in my head in Jonathan Keeble's voice, who narrates the audiobooks. I'll have to wait for the audiobook a while longer, but its great to have a new story already 😊
And of course imagining Ryan looking like this (my manip)

Information from 'Deadline' -
Department Q has staffed up. Cameras are rolling in Scotland on the upcoming series adaptation of Danish author Jussi Adler-Olsen’s hugely popular crime novels. Matthew Goode, Chloe Pirrie, Alexej Manvelov, Leah Byrne and Kelly Macdonald are all on board Netflix‘s English-language series Deadline can reveal. The project comes from showrunner Scott Frank (The Queen’s Gambit). It has been written by Frank, Chandni Lakhani, Stephen Greenhorn and Colette Kane. Frank directs the first two of the eight instalments. Filming is taking place in Edinburgh, where the series will be set. Goode will play DCI Carl Morck. After a violent incident turns Morck’s life upside down, the emotionally scarred detective is charged with setting up cold case unit, Department Q, upon his return to work. At first, the disillusioned cop is happy to waste his days away, but his detective instincts are ultimately reawakened and his new department becomes a magnet for a crew of misfits and mavericks. The project sees Goode working with Left Bank Pictures and Netflix once more. He played Antony Armstrong Jones in season two of Left Bank’s regal drama The Crown. Pirrie, whose credits include The Queen’s Gambit, plays ruthless and ambitious prosecutor Merrit Lingard. Fellow Scottish actor Macdonald takes the role of Dr. Rachel Irving, a therapist tasked with getting officers back on the front line. Manvelov (Jack Ryan) is Syrian cop Akram Salim, who was forced to flee to Europe and ultimately becomes part of the new department. Byrne takes the role of Rose, a star police cadet left shaken by a breakdown and looking for a chance to prove herself in DCI Morck’s team. The cast also includes Mark Bonnar (Guilt), Shirley Henderson (Bridget Jones), Jamie Sives (Crime) and Kate Dickie (Inside Man). Adler-Olsen’s books have spawned a very successful film franchise. The fourth film based on the novels, The Purity Of Vengeance, became the highest-grossing Danish film at the local box office. New movies are in the works.

Vigil *NEW UK PREMIERE SERIES*
youtube
Vigil's Suranne Jones is in a good series on the way. Vigil season two will premiere on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on December 10. Whilst series one of Vigil was set on a Royal Navy missile submarine, series two is moving to the skies, as characters Amy Silva and Kirsten Longacre investigate the British Air Force.
Tumblr media
The return of the crime drama, starring Suranne Jones and Rose Leslie. When a British Air Force weapons test goes disastrously wrong, DCI Amy Silva is called in to investigate and finds herself caught in the crosshairs of a fraught international incident. The Air Force thinks they have the guilty party in custody and push for Amy and DI Kirsten Longacre to close the case.
But Amy isn’t convinced.

Both Suranne Jones and Rose Leslie will reprise their roles of DCI Amy Silva and DI Kirsten Longacre respectively. Actor Gary Lewis, famed for his roles in shows such as His Dark Materials and Granite Harbour, also returns as DSU Colin Robertson. The new cast has two brilliant actors Romola Garai and the Scottish actor Dougray Scott.

L J Ross DCI Ryan series
Having recently been working my way through the Seven Sisters series of books I now find myself ‘trapped’ in another series.
This series of 20 books is by L J Ross and features Detective Chief Inspector Maxwell Ryan and I have found it enthralling.
I have read them all up to number 15 which I am reading at the moment.
The stories are all set in the area around Newcastle-on-Tyne where the CID office is. Having done a tour of Northumberland last year I find them very interesting as each one is set in an area of Northumberland.
Ryan is always involved in the case of murder investigation and heads up the team which includes Detective sergeant Frank Phillips and his wife Inspector Denise Macenzie. Ryan is married to Anna who is a university lecturer in local history and often gets involved in the various cases that the team tackle.
I can only recommend this series to anyone that likes a good detective story. Each book is as good as the previous one and I shall now have to finish the series. It is important that the books are read in the correct sequence as the human side of it does continue throughout.
The first book is Holy Island, which we visited on our tour and which first attracted me to the series.
Book 11, The infirmary, is a prequel to the series which I found a bit distracting, going back to the beginning of the saga, so be warned if you get to that book.
It is very easy reading this series on a Kindle as when you get to the end of a book you are invited to read the next in the series and one click and it is there.

Silver cooper at soroptimist, and since my friend who died was English; let's go over this.
https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Film/TheLastAmericanVirgin (Janneke is in here, and that's not the point but a movie that matters)
A cooper there means
• A food pantry that's empty but for yellow stuff
• A soundtrack indicative of musical theater, in Market of Choice *right time wrong me chorus* in exact synch with my coming through the checkout, complete with *won't stop raining* *soul so in despair, woman stalker from lithia park standing behind me in yellow* *empty pleas for contact, lyrics about crying*
And phil would have had better luck with "The second flavor of this occurs in the Cowboy Bebop episode "The Real Folk Blues (Part 1)", when Vicious kills the leaders of the Red Dragon and takes over the syndicate, executing one of them by slashing him across the eyes and making him "shed tears of scarlet".
Although, his sf MO was in all probability closer to "While the team celebrates Helen Morton's promotion to DCI, Annie meets someone in a restaurant, calls Banks from an alley nearby, and she is stabbed after telling him where she is. Banks and the team begin the painful job of finding out exactly who was responsible for Annie's death."
(London kings road skinheads *love those chef's knives*, and wouldn't you know it, it's where skinheads are from) But I digress.
A soundtrack at *MoC* like that means
•Something in the vicinity of the palm inn, a sweeper with a blower blowing crap into my eyes, as I reached the span of the turn in, see crying above
•A car stalker, notable for not being one, but several short distance to mountain avenue *where a yellow honda* was waiting to turn down mountain, AND a yellow motorcycle but not before *BOTH* 211-gah AND 122668
A palm inn experience like that one forecasts,
•A soundtrack at Safeway, and boy is there, Lionel Richie "you need to forget about me" in musical theater synch as I go through with *one item* "Does the music ever make you crazy?" I ask the *Filipino* cashier who's open
(Safeway had Don't You Forget About Me the last time I was in there, I think)
Safeway like that can only mean,
•A set of people who are supposed to look like me, either in dress or nose (a broken nose of ten or more times; always the stuff you're sensitive about) Ashland library staged and ready to go combatively when I walk in the door
(A ryan as reference girl is wearing stripes but the *shelver spy* ryan got a job here, hasn't tried to crowd me, yet. "You would die" she said when I offered that this was a way (her behavior) that ryan could get killed and that was *a very long time ago*)
And yes, would ryan have gone after Janneke in highschool or whatever, he would've been the idiot at the pawn shop from that movie. Sex makes men dumb, but *only the heterosexual ones* would agree Chris Horton.
And yes, this shit is *every day*, as the food pantry downstairs was empty and "hunger is the best spice" was the top promoted Google result when I searched the Real Folk Blues quote. So ***what*** exactly *is* ms13??? Is it Chicago's CIA or something?
Afterword, a sunflower girl I *randomly* encounter around a park often (read always) contain one of the following,
•"You should steal things and then sell them" entrapment
•"You're saying you're a murderer??" implication and in response to *any reference to violence past present news future*
•"You're a robot" discredit-ish
*fat librarian flashes "heart" "honor the wild" book covers in rapid succession* how's your health, ryan?
• "I'm a wood rabbit" saloon girl reference to "being chased around a track" diminutive
• "It's a pimp" in reference to a mark on her face
(Her attempts at giving me the "Gang Leader for a Day" experience that Indian guy wrote a book about, and that I read in one sitting at the talent library years ago)
It's not getting the hell killed out of myself by a street gang, so I can complain but it doesn't mean anything until I'm dead.
•She "likes to lay in the grass", prostitution costs money that she thinks I have and that would snk attract the attention of the fbi or something, story of my life; people *only ever* interact with me because they want something.
It's going to turn out to israel or something, isn't it, ms13? Escobar was based on england's opium trade in China and was reputed to be semitic himself; hope you guys know what you're doing, Charlton Heston caused a lot of mass shootings with one NRA speech.
All those cars piss me off because an empire of atrocities has finally taken over Ashland, I guess. My late friend thought the Chinese were going to save the world.

I’m asking for you to vote for me!
Never in my wildest dreams did I ever imagine I would talk about this publicly in such detail especially on LinkedIn🤣 but hoping it will help someone else. Keep reading…
We all know that October is breast cancer awareness month…
Your Vote &/or Donation will go toward helping other women in their fight, especially with early detection.
Why is early detection important?
What I've not made public because it's been a very personal journey for me and one that I needed to protect because it has been one of faith, prayer, mental and emotional discipline, changing my diet, lifestyle & habits.
2 years ago I was officially diagnosed with DCIS.
Don’t know what that is?
Neither did I until I was diagnosed with it.
They are malignant cells that form a tumor located in the milk duct.
I say “diagnosed” as opposed to “have” because I do not personally own this diagnosis.
Back in 2019 through self exam, I felt a small mass. I am used to feeling lumps and masses in my breasts my entire life and have always had them checked. Most of the time they were benign cysts. Because of the position of these latest ones, neither a mammogram or ultrasound found them.
I did.
So ladies it is vital you do your self exams monthly!
For years I have been on a routine every 6 months of having mammograms and ultrasounds because my breast tissue is very dense, and still it wasn't picked up.
All this is still in process for me and I know I am victorious over this because I am under great care first and foremost from God the Great Physician, my health coaches Lydia Ebling & Ryan Ebling & my amazing doctor plus lots of supportive friends & family
Others may not have that kind of support so a vote and donation can go toward helping these women, plus if I do win the money it will help cover some of my medical bills 🙏🏽❤️😍
You decide, am I Fab Over 40?

Rewind, Recap: Weekly update W/E 04/09/22
Another week gone, but thankfully it was quite a good one. Managed to get some rather fabulous books read – go me – and also had a bit of a side trip up to Northumberland on Friday. Only an overnighter, but Mandie and I were lucky enough to be invited to attend the LJ Ross event on Holy Island, the spiritual home of the DCI Ryan series. There the author took us back through the origins of DCI…

When a cantankerous old woman dies at her home in the sleepy, picturesque village of Bamburgh, DCI Ryan doesn?t think much of it?except, that is, for the small matter of it having been his wife who happened to find her body. Then another body turns up amongst the sand dunes at the base of the mighty castle fortress, and he decides it can?t be a coincidence?Meanwhile, after a recent revelation about her sister, DC Melanie Yates? quest to avenge her death is becoming an obsession?much to the concern of those around her. With a new DCS to contend with and hundreds of cold case files to sift through, the chances of uncovering a dormant killer seem unlikely. But as Melanie delves deeper into the secrets of the past to uncover the truth, she soon realises it lies much closer to home?Murder and mystery are peppered with romance and humour in this fast-paced crime whodunnit, set amidst the spectacular Northumbrian landscape.
