FINALLY! FINALLY! F-I-N-A-L-L-Y! I am composting! Ugh I’m so happy, I’ve never been so excited in my life. As a vegan I produce a lot of food scraps, #veganproblems 😂 Some food waste can be used in the home, or in the kitchen but honestly lots just end up in the landfill and it was really starting to eat at me. So after some Ecosia searches, and permission from the landlords (thx parents)I created a compost system that I think is gonna work for me. These inexpensive garbage bins with secure lids have about 25 holes drilled all over and a few on the bottom. An electric drill and a new drill bit and they were ready in 20 min. One bin will be added to while the other cooks. To mix them just set them on their side and roll them around! Placed them on 2x4 scraps so excess moisture can drain from the bottom holes. All in all I’m very pleased, especially with the cost $30 for the garbage bins, seriously that’s it. Also I couldn’t find anyone who had old bins to trade or any in goodwill so I had to buy new, but potentially this whole project could have been free or very, VERY cheap. Anyway, COMPOST, YAY! Side note picture 3 is all the containers my mom has w/o plants...I think she has a problem lol #foodwaste #composting #lowwaste #nowaste #organicgardening #reducefoodwaste #lowwasteliving #ecosia #compostdiy #diycompost (at Battle Ground, Washington) https://www.instagram.com/p/BxA8YAkJu2D/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=3xmf7on92sr6
