#DSD July Drabble Challenge

“Robin stooped down and began to plant more seeds. She still longed desperately for a tall glass of cold water, but something inside of her had been quenched and comforted all the same.”

This is an assortment of ficlets inspired by some of the July Drabble prompts – posted with apologies that it’s now August, that these aren’t drabbles and that I’m going for four chapters with five ficlets each (i.e. only twenty prompts out of the thirty-one). Some of these are set at Chapman Farm and feature supporting characters from ‘The Running Grave,’ whilst others are set at various points in the lives of Strike and Robin.

Chapter One prompts: Thirsty, Moving, Mothers, Pottery, Sweater. Chapter Two prompts: Son, Girls’ Night, Eight, Doctor’s Orders, Competitive. Chapter Three prompts: Respite, Mint, Hermit, Old Fashioned, Saxophone. Chapter Four prompts: Thirteen, Magazine, Hair Cutting, Flustered, Losing a Bet.

A number of the ficlets in Chapters Two, Three and Four are specifically inspired by/ indebted to conversations between Pools, Lindsay and Kenz on the always-glorious podcast @thesefilespod which is why I’ve gifted this to @pools-of-venetianblue.
