After the lockdown restrictions were lifted, Alia Bhatt began shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Gangubai Kathiawadi. The film was supposed to release in September, but owing to the pandemic, the schedule of the film went for a toss. Alia Bhatt had to push her dates alloted for SS Rajamouli's RRR as Gangubai's shooting was extended by two weeks. However, the actress has wrapped Gangubai and left for Hyderabad on Sunday and has started shooting from today.

Alia hopped on to the sets of the film right on Monday morning. The makers shared photos of Alia and Rajamouli on social media with the caption, "A very warm welcome to our dearest #Sita, the supremely talented @aliaabhatt on to the sets of #RRRMovie! ????❤️ #AliaBhatt #RRR"

SS Rajamouli's magnum opus will mark Alia Bhatt's debut in the south. With Ram Charan and Jr NTR in the lead, the film also stars Ajay Devgn. According to a source, “Alia has one big song-and-dance number in RRR which she may sing in her own voice. The only problem is her accent in Tamil and Telugu, in which case she will sing for herself only in the Hindi version of RRR.”

Directed by ace director S.S Rajamouli and bankrolled by DVV Danayya under the banner of DVV Entertainment Banner, the film is a period drama that narrates a fictional take on the younger days of celebrated freedom fighters Komaram Bheem and Alluri Seetharamaraju. The film is set for release in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada alongside several other Indian languages.

Ajay Devgn starts shooting for SS Rajamouli’s RRR, see pics - regional movies

Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn on Tuesday joined the sets of SS Rajamouli’s upcoming Telugu magnum opus RRR, its makers revealed. The film’s official Twitter handle shared the news and shared pictures from the sets.This project will mark Devgn’s south debut and he’s rumoured to be playing one of the pivotal characters of the movie. The film stars Ram Charan and Jr NTR in lead roles. In the film, it is rumoured that NTR and Charan play brothers in the modern-day portion and will be seen as Komaram Bheem and Alluri Sitarama Raju in the period portion which will be the flashback episode.

Ajay Devgn and SS Rajamouli greet each other.In a press meet in March, Rajamouli said that RRR will be a fictional story set in 1920s pre-independent era and it will be based on few years in the lives of two real heroes and well-known revolutionaries – Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem. “This will be a fictional story on the lives of Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem. There are gaps in the lives of these legendary freedom fighters that we don’t know about. We don’t know what happened in their lives in these years. It is through this fictional story we’d like to show what could have happened in their lives and what would have happened if they met and bonded,” Rajamouli said. Earlier in March, film shootings came to a halt after the widespread of coronavirus. Owing to the pandemic, the makers of RRR: Rise Roar Revolt have resumed the shooting. On Monday, October 5, work resumed in Hyderabad with key members of the cast and crew present.

Back in July, it was reported that Rajamouli planned to do a two-day test shoot in order to plan the SoPs and avoid any issues when they actually resume the shooting of the film. But, soon he and his family had tested positive for COVID-19. Almost two months since he recovered, the filmmaker resumed work on October 4. It's being reported that Alia Bhatt, who has a guest appearance, will join the team in November.

Alia Bhatt has been very excited to foray into Telugu cinema with RRR. After wrapping up Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Gangubai Kathiawadi, she will begin Rajamouli's film. The actress has been working with a local tutor learning the language.

Besides her cameo, Ajay Devgn will also be starring in the film and has already filmed his guest appearance.

The period drama is set in the 20th century & Delhi has been recreated at the Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad. The plan is to shoot for the next two months straight as the crew will be quarantining together. A lot of drama, romance, action, the confrontation scenes between Komaram Bheem and Alluri Sitarama Raju are expected.

Director SS Rajamouli said, "It's been a very long break and the time was only helpful in making things better for the film. The entire team is geared up to come back and restart the work we had begun before things changed. I am looking forward to showing the audience the film. Their support through these times has been never-ending and the entire team owes them one for their immense support."

Producer DVV Danayya said, "Extraordinary times need extraordinary measures. Keeping that in mind, we have resumed work! All this, while keeping in mind the safety protocols that are absolutely necessary in these times. Every member of the cast and crew is sacrosanct and we'd like to ensure they are in a safe zone. Nandamuri Balakrishna, filmmaker Boyapati Srinu team up for new film, see launch pics - regional movies

Actor Nandamuri Balakrishna and filmmaker Boyapati Srinu have teamed up for the third time. The yet-untitled Telugu film was officially launched on Friday in Hyderabad. Having delivered hits like Simhaa and Legend, the hit combination of Balakrishna and Srinu has reunited for another commercial potboiler.The project is currently dubbed NBK 106. The makers are yet to announce the rest of the cast and crew.However, if the industry grapevine is anything to go by, the film stars Sanjay Dutt as the antagonist. Sanjay is said to have been already signed for the part. An official announcement is yet to be made.If Sanjay comes on board, this will be his second Telugu outing. He’s currently shooting for KGF 2, in which he plays a character called Adheera. The second chapter will follow the journey of Rocky bhai (Yash) as he rises to the king of a goldmine.
