A hospital is insisting the 79-yo responds best to this CPAP device. It's exceedingly affordable, so I'm not gonna argue.

They just tried to get around the "some older insurance doesn't cover cpap" by giving it a different name, making it sound like this patient needs oxygen only at night. And without liquid O2 or a concentrator. So I'm looking it up.

It has a tagline. "Flexible. Safe. Reliable." Odd that needs stating on technology we've had for over 2 decades, but heigh-ho.

...It's operated via an online app with Bluetooth, connected to the cloud with an in-built modem going directly to a nonspecified tele-health service, can be linked to your federal e-patient file and plugged into any LAN network.

I'm still counting all the ways this backfires if/when they drop the ball on security for one second, but, uh... Why is this so cheap? No, seriously, why is this 25% cheaper than a machine that isn't constantly online?
