Lexa is living a quiet life in the woods away from her past. Clarke and Madi are seeking a new life on the other side of the mountains. Truths will be revealed, lessons learned, and hearts captured, as the Darkness haunting Lexa returns.
Summary: Sheriff Lexa Woods’s life is turned upside down when a hurricane hits her small Californian town, bringing in its midst Clarke Griffin, a beautiful geologist as smart as she’s brave. But when Clarke returns a few months later to study Polis’s geographical situation and assess the risks in case more natural disasters occur, neither can deny the attraction anymore. Will they manage to open up before a series of catastrophes puts their lives at risk?

Chapter 9: The Eye of the Storm
No one remained by the tunnel’s entrance, leading Lexa to hope the Polisians who evacuated the city before the tsunami hit had made it out in one piece. However, it seemed an aftershock had since gotten the better of the weakened structure. Tivy’s headlights showed rocks of various sizes all over the road.
“Should we go on foot?” she asked hesitantly. There wasn’t enough space for Tivy, and they would likely be forced to abandon the horses, but pedestrians could climb over the debris and wiggle between the larger boulders. In theory…
“We shouldn’t,” Clarke answered after worrying at her lower lip with her teeth. “There’s no way to know if the path ahead is clear, and without Tivy, we won’t have any light. Besides, if another aftershock hits, we could be buried alive.”
“Fuck. What do we do then? Go over the mountain on foot? It will take us ages, but it’s doable. Xanthus and Balius can carry the weakest among us.”
Clarke sighed long and low before grabbing her laptop. The keyboard click-clacked as she tapped away almost brutally. Lexa wanted to smooth the furrow between her brows with her thumb before it became permanent, but it was neither the time nor the place.
“All right,” Clarke said a minute later. “The good news is Mount Weather is still pretty quiet. There are minimal gas leaks, which is concerning, but not enough to indicate an eruption. We should be good to stay while we wait for help.”
Sometimes life has a very strange way of bringing two people together. For Lexa Woods and Clarke Griffin, this holiday season is going to be one they won't easily forget. When their worlds collide, they will find themselves wondering if this was a play from destiny or just a Christmas thing.
I was naive and hopeful and lost
Now I'm aware and driving my thoughts, oh
What do I do? What do I do?
I don't believe it if I don't keep proof
I don't believe it if I don't know you
I don't believe it if it's on the news or on the internet
I need a cigarette
I'm using white lighters to see what's in front of me
I'm using white lighters to see
R.I.P. to my youth

Kyle never really saw the point in prom, never saw the point in gushing and falling all over yourselves like the kids in class did but that changed when he fell in love with Cartman. Now he's standing in a door way, smiling and patiently posing with his boyfriend while their moms gush and take photos of them before they're finally allowed to make their way to the dance. While dancing a shocking proposal is made and Kyle can't find himself capable of keeping it a secrete when they and their friends meet up afterwards.

Chapter 8: Survivors
Cold. Darkness. Need for air. Lexa’s brain, fueled by her panic, couldn’t immediately comprehend what had happened and how her day had gone from bad to fatal.
As her instincts pushed her to fight against the waves dragging her away and deeper, she couldn’t tell which way the surface was. Lost in the raging flow too opaque for the sunlight to pierce through, up and down were relative notions.
Something large and hard, likely a tree, hit her in the back. She opened her mouth reflexively to gasp and swallowed a gulp of muddy water. Her stomach and lungs protested violently, making her cough as it burned her airways and esophagus.
I’m going to die, she thought.
The lack of oxygen had her chest contract so hard she wondered if she had cracked her ribs, and for a second, Lexa wished she would lose consciousness. She was tempted to stop struggling. To relax, inhale, and let the water claim her. She let herself float, arms away from her torso, her legs lazily kicking.
Flashes of Aden and Madi’s faces popped behind her closed eyelids. What would happen to her children, already orphaned once, if she died? Anya would take them in, but who knew if her cousin had made it out alive? And to imagine them, traumatized and alone, under her parents’ judgmental and strict watch…
As if she had stuck her fingers into a plug socket, Lexa’s entire body jerked. She couldn’t give up yet. Not as long as her heart beat in her chest.
With an energy born of desperation, she reached her hands ahead and pulled. Again. And again. She repeated the move until stars danced before her eyes and the last bubbles of oxygen left her nose. Until she thought she might have passed out yet continued to kick her legs.
Miorine Rembran has been doing everything in her power to distance herself from the tight leash her father has on her. It is not until she learns of his next move that Miorine decides to take action to go against his wishes. The problem is that she has no idea who could help her escape from a forced relationship with the political agenda of her father.
Maybe her answer will come in the most unexpected form.
