Get the latest new route updates and rfid information for this incredible pilgrimage to the Amarnath gufa. Starting our Amarnath Yatra 2024 from Delhi, I met a fellow solo traveler, a young man in his late 20s from Rajouri Garden in srinagar airport while waiting for shared taxi from srinagar airport to pahalgam . Our companionship was a relief, turning our journey into a teamwork effort. We shared a private Innova car from Srinagar Airport to Nunwan Base Camp, costing us ₹5000 collectively. At the baggage checkpoint before Nunwan Base Camp, we easily collected our Yatra RFID cards, despite my permission date being July 16th my rfid card was issued same day on 20th july, and the process was surprisingly smooth with no rush. A useful tip for fellow travelers: take the free battery rickshaw from Srinagar Airport to get a local cab outside for around ₹3000 for a 6-seater vehicle. Upon reaching Nunwan Base Camp, we explored its facilities, including camps, a hospital, and enjoyed a meal at the Bhandara. Opting for better accommodation, we chose to stay in Pahalgam, ensuring a peaceful night's sleep and a strategic advantage of being first in line for the trek at 4 AM the next day. Our Pahalgam hotel cost the same as the Nunwan Base Camp accommodation. We reached Pahalgam via a local Kashmiri auto for ₹100. In the evening, we explored nearby attractions and a serene water stream, concluding the night with a simple Dal Chawal meal at a local Punjabi Dhaba.
