Ingredients: 3 lbs pork shoulder, bone-in. 1 cup whiskey. 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar. 1/4 cup brown sugar. 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard. 2 teaspoons smoked paprika. 1 teaspoon garlic powder. 1 teaspoon onion powder. 1 teaspoon black pepper. 1/2 teaspoon salt. 2 apples, sliced. Wood chips for smoking.
Instructions: Combine whiskey, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt to create the marinade. Enjoy the delicious fusion of a donut and a croissant by making these homemade cronuts. These sweet, flaky treats are great for dessert or breakfast.
Ingredients: 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour. 1/4 cup granulated sugar. 1 packet active dry yeast. 1/2 cup warm milk. 1/4 cup warm water. 1/2 teaspoon salt. 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold. 1 egg. Oil for frying. 1/2 cup powdered sugar. 1 tablespoon milk. 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract.
Instructions: In a bowl, combine warm milk and warm water. Sprinkle yeast over it and let it sit for 5 minutes. In a separate bowl, mix flour, granulated sugar, and salt. Cut cold butter into small cubes and add it to the flour mixture. Use a pastry cutter to combine until it resembles coarse crumbs. Pour the yeast mixture and beaten egg into the flour mixture. Mix until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth. Roll out the dough into a 1/2-inch thick rectangle. Fold it into thirds like a letter. Chill for 30 minutes. Roll out the chilled dough again and fold it into thirds. Chill for another 30 minutes. Roll out the dough to 1/2-inch thickness and cut out cronuts using a round cutter. Let them rise for 30 minutes. Heat oil to 350F 180C and fry cronuts for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown. Drain on paper towels. Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla to make the glaze. Dip cronuts in the glaze and let them cool. Serve and enjoy!
