In this post, I dive into the hidden world of online tracking using the Disconnect browser extension. After visiting eight different websites—covering civic, e-commerce, news, and social media—I discovered that Amazon had the highest number of trackers! This finding highlights how major e-commerce platforms rely heavily on advertising networks, data collection, and personalized marketing to optimize their business.

I analyze the privacy implications of excessive tracking, discuss why companies like Amazon need so much user data, and reflect on how this impacts the average internet user.
