When young we’re told that there are seven colors in the rainbow.  As we grow we realize that this isn’t true;the rainbow is a spectrum of color, a chromatic blur, and we’re completely used to visual artists utilising its variety.  In music we’re similarly told there are twelve equally spaced notes (12 Tones of Equal Temperament, or 12 TET for short).  Again, we grow to realize pitch is also a spectrum, yet this notion rarely extends to the music we listen to because the industry has been firmly rooted in those twelve notes...until now.  A collective of British musicians and software developers seek to challenge the tyranny of a de facto tuning system imposed on us all.
Although 12 TET has been a musical concept for millennia,its ubiquity is comparatively recent. Prior to mass manufacture of musical instruments the world was brimming with localized intonations,theories of tonality and tuning experimentation on the parts of composers.  12 TET enabled the industrialization of instrument manufacture through standardization, but the dawn of digital synthesizers in the 1980s ended the need for this conformity.  In theory a synthesizer could be tuned arbitrarily, so after lobbying from Robert Rich and Carter Scholzthe MIDI standard was extended to include specifications for changing tunings in 1992.Sadly that technology, known as MTS (MIDI Tuning Standard), never achieved broad adoption.
The constraints of 12 TET became increasingly apparent- pop hits often have similar melodies,leading to the all-too-common lawsuit and our ear shave grown so accustomed to this single tuningwe can find anything else discomforting (somethingTV and film composers have leveraged for decades now).  Young musicians marveling at world music such as Gamelan may wonder how such ethereal composition could be achieved, as often little is taught on the subject at western conservatoires or universities.  Musical commentators started to ask the obvious questions -have we run out of notes and is this dependency another vestige of western colonialism?

Many musical mavericks and global musicians already knew the answer - there’s a continuum of pitch, tonality is subjective and escaping the prison of those twelve notes can give music a whole new life.  To this end developers Damon Hancock and Dave Gamble (of UK audio brand DMGAudio) hatched a solution - an easy-to-use system unlocking the whole pitch spectrum.  It allows synthesizers to be tuned however one wishes and for tuning to be modified in real-time with no setup required.  MTS-ESP was born.
Tuning enthusiast Richard D James (Aphex Twin) showed them his vintage Rhodes Chroma synth with custom firmware that enabled him to author new tunings by ear and then transfer them to other instruments.  It was a laborious process, often taking hours to tune all the instruments on a recording,but it worked and was more musically intuitive than alternatives.  These ideas were consumed into the project and soon a holistic, centralized approach to tuning emerged.  EDM producer and coder OliCash (a.k.a. Far Too Loud) joined the team and a new company was formed, ODDSound, specifically targeting the boundaries of creative music technology.
There was one small problem left - whilst the system delivered solid results with existing hardware and software the perfect solution necessitated third-party developers to add code to their products.Adoption of new technologies in computer music hasoften been a slow process, spanning many years if not decades, so why would anyone integrate MTS-ESP prior to launch?  Richard, already friendly with numerous synth companies, offered hissupport to the project.  Now it has been openedup for anyone to use, with freely available code for developers and free software for users.  MTS-ESP now enjoys one of the broadest adoptions on launch of any computer music technology in history, aswell as a zero-cost entry point for everyone via the MTS-ESP Mini plugin paired with free softwareinstruments.

SLA 3D printer (stereolithography).
RP technology Rapid Prototyping (RP) is a new manufacturing technology that was first introduced from the United States in the late 1980s. It integrates modern scientific and technological achievements such as CAD technology, numerical control technology, laser technology and material technology, and is an important part of advanced manufacturing technology. Unlike traditional cutting methods, rapid prototyping uses a forming mechanism in which layered materials are superimposed to machine a three-dimensional part prototype. Firstly, the layering software slices the CAD geometry of the part according to a certain layer thickness, and obtains a series of contour information. The forming head of the rapid prototyping machine is controlled by the control system according to the two-dimensional contour information. Solidified or cut to form thin layers of various sections and automatically superimposed into three-dimensional entities.
SLA, The domestic name is stereolithography, also known as laser curing rapid prototyping. The principle is: the laser is focused onto the surface of the liquid photosensitive resin and scanned according to the cross-sectional shape of the part, so that it is selectively cured, from point to line to the surface, to complete the curing of one layer, and then the lifting platform is lowered by one layer thickness and recoated with a new layer a resin and cured by laser until the whole solid model is formed.
Advantage of SLA technology:
Currently it is the fastest plastic RP 3D printer
Accuracy is 10 times better than FDM 3D plastic printer, max accuracy can reach 0.05mm
Compatible material is very cost-effective, 10% of the price of DLP or small SLA, which highly reduce the cost of each RP part, esp. the part with large volume.

The battle for the brains of autonomous cars
When cars move towards higher levels of autonomy, more processing power will be needed. A rule of thumb says, that going from one autonomy level to the next (see SAE´s automation level definitions) increases the need for processing power ten-fold. According to IHS, the automotive semiconductor market was worth $41.8 billion in 2018 and will reach $65.5 billion by 2025. The fastest growing segments are electronics for Advanced Driver Assist Systems (ADAS) and Hybrid/Electric Vehicles. Chipmakers will play a crucial role in the battle for the autonomous car technology stack. Especially because they see the Internet of Things as the next big growth markets, the automotive industry as one of the most interesting ones among those.
According to Gwennap, a leading analyst in this area, automotive semiconductors can be split in 4 categories:
Microcontroller for traditional features (e.g. ABS, ESP) - an area that is dominated by incumbent players like Renesas, Infineon or NXP
Wireless modem chips connecting cars to the internet - produced by companies like Qualcomm or Intel
Chips for cameras and sensors - e.g. from Mobileye, which was acquired by Intel for about $15 billion in 2017
Processing chips for AI - an area in which Nvidia, among others, is very active
There is no chip to rule them all, one chip to find them, one chip to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them. No one company will be able to offer the whole range, which makes this a very dynamic and interesting playing field. Especially processors from the latter two categories will shape the advent of autonomous cars, which is the main reason why we have seen various acquisitions in this area. Renesas just recently (03/2019) completed its acquisition of IDT (Integrated Device Technology) to enhance its capabilities in this emerging field. Interesting to observe is once again Tesla´s strategy, which is very different from traditional OEM´s. Tesla decided to develop their own AI chip (FSD Chip; Full Self-Driving Chip). According to Elon Musk it allows them to “run the neural network at a fundamental, bare metal level”, which improves performance significantly. This reminds of Apple´s strategy to develop their own chip for their iPhone and Google´s development of TPU (Tensor Processing Unit), a custom-designed machine learning ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit). While Tesla´s strategy might me risky, it could give them a decisive competitive edge. Traditional OEM´s prefer to work with companies like Nvidia or Intel, which benefit from scale advantages as an independent party with access to multiple OEM´s. Carmakers tend to count on suppliers in these type of situations in order to minimize their own R&D investments, focus on their core competences and stay open for any potential technological advancements.

Only future will tell which strategy is the winning one. It will continue to be an exciting area. One of many in the upcoming years when it comes to defining the leadership roles in autonomous driving technology. The chips are just one piece of the technology stack. A lot more battles will be fought when it comes to the operating systems, middleware, application specific software, sensors etc. Various players try to build open platforms with the objective to maneuver them into a strong position of controlling parts of the technology stack while leaving the system open for innovation for contributions from other parties.

A device's definition block specifies, among other things, an operation region, which is a contiguous block of device memory that is used to access device data. Only Acpi.sys modifies the data in an operation region. The device's function driver can read the data in an operation region but must not modify the data. When called, an operation region handler transfers bytes in the operation region to and from the data buffer in Acpi.sys. The combined operation of the function driver and Acpi.sys is device-specific and is defined in the ACPI BIOS by the hardware vendor. In general, the function driver and Acpi.sys access particular areas in an operation region to perform device-specific operations and retrieve information. ACPI control methods
ACPI control methods are software objects that declare and define simple operations to query and configure ACPI devices. Control methods are stored in the ACPI BIOS and are encoded in a byte-code format called ACPI Machine Language (AML). The control methods for a device are loaded from the system firmware into the device's ACPI namespace in memory, and interpreted by the Windows ACPI driver, Acpi.sys.
To invoke a control method, the kernel-mode driver for an ACPI device initiates an IRP_MJ_DEVICE_CONTROL request, which is handled by Acpi.sys. I was originally enrolled into the GETTY IMAGES collection as a contributor on April 9th 2012, and when links with FLICKR were terminated in March 2014, I was retained and fortunate enough to be signed up via a second contract, both of which have proved to be successful with sales of my photographs all over the world now handled exclusively by them.
On November 12th 2015 GETTY IMAGES unveiled plans for a new stills upload platform called ESP (Enterprise Submission Platform), to replace the existing ‘Moment portal’, and on November 13th I was invited to Beta test the new system prior to it being officially rolled out in December. ESP went live on Tuesday December 15th 2015 and has smoothed out the upload process considerably.
These days I take a far more leisurely approach to my photographic exploits, a Nikon D850 FX Pro body as my trusted companion, I travel light with less constraints and more emphasis on the pure capture of the beauty that I see, more akin to my original persuits and goals some five decades previously when starting out. I would like to say a huge and heartfelt ‘THANK YOU’ to GETTY IMAGES, and the 26.724+ Million visitors to my FLICKR site.

Photographs taken at an altitude of Eighteen metres in the golden hour around sunset at 18:09pm on March 24th 2012, off undercliff Drive and opposite Menzies East Cliff Court on the golden sands of Boscombe Beach in Bournemouth, in the ceremonial county of Dorset, England.
The end of a wonderful day having driven hundreds of miles for a daytrip to Bournemouth. I’d been taking shots of the beach as the golden sunlight streamed into the lens and noticed the young guy and his girlfriend kicking the football about. A stray shot had him coming into my frame and so I waited and composed a few frames as he gathered up the ball.This is a merged version of all four frames that I shot, using Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 software.
I used the ‘Scene cleaner’ tool and had to induividually draw the pencil over each silhouette and shadow and merge into the final finished frame. So now we have the entire sequence as the young man gathered up the ball from the sea and headed back up the beach to his girlfriend.

Pg 61 False(?) claims on Clinton laundering? "In the spring of 2016, Trump Campaign advisor Michael Caputo learned through a Floridabased Russian business partner that another Florida-based Russian, Henry Oknyansky (who also went by the name Henry Greenberg), claimed to have information pertaining to Hillary Clinton. Caputo notified Roger Stone and brokered communication between Stone and Oknyansky. Oknyansky and Stone set up a May 2016 in-person meeting.260
Oknyansky was accompanied to the meeting by Alexei Rasin, a Ukrainian associate involved in Florida real estate. At the meeting, Rasin offered to sell Stone derogatory information on Clinton that Rasin claimed to have obtained while working for Clinton. Rasin claimed to possess financial statements demonstrating Clinton's involvement in money laundering with Rasin's companies. According to Oknyansky, Stone asked if the amounts in question totaled millions of dollars but was told it was closer to hundreds of thousands. Stone refused the offer, stating that Trump would not pay for opposition research.261 Oknyansky claimed to the Office that Rasin's motivation was financial. According to Oknyansky, Rasin had tried unsuccessfully to shop the Clinton information around to other interested parties, and Oknyansky would receive a cut if the information was sold.262 Rasin is noted in public source documents as the director and/or registered agent for a number of Florida companies, none of which appears to be connected to Clinton."
Pg 62 Disappeared? "The Office did not locate Rasin in the United States, although the Office confirmed Rasin had been issued a Florida driver's license. The Office otherwise was unable to determine the content and origin of the information he purportedly offered to Stone. Finally, the investigation did not identify evidence of a connection between the outreach or the meeting and Russian interference efforts."
Pg 62-63 search for the truth or treason? wording looks like the latter "Ledeen began her efforts to obtain the Clinton emails before Flynn's request, as early as December 2015.268 On December 3, 2015, she emailed Smith a proposal to obtain the emails, stating, "Here is the proposal I briefly mentioned to you. The person I described to you would be happy to talk with you either in person or over the phone. The person can get the emails which 1. Were classified and 2. Were purloined by our enemies. That would demonstrate what needs to be demonstrated."269
Attached to the email was a 25-page proposal stating that the "Clinton email server was, in all likelihood, breached long ago," and that the Chinese, Russian, and Iranian intelligence services could "re-assemble the server's email content."270 The proposal called for a three-phase approach. The first two phases consisted of open-source analysis. The third phase consisted of checking with certain intelligence sources "that have access through liaison work with various foreign services" to determine if any of those services had gotten to the server. The proposal noted, "Even if a single email was recovered and the providence [sic] of that email was a foreign service, it would be catastrophic to the Clinton campaign[.]" Smith forwarded the email to two colleagues and wrote, "we can discuss to whom it should be referred."271 On December 16, 2015, Smith informed Ledeen that he declined to participate in her "initiative." According to one of Smith's business associates, Smith believed Ledeen's initiative was not viable at that time.272"

Since Trump has both made statements about becoming President & wanting Trump Tower Moscow since the 1980's I think the scope should have gone back further than 2013-2015. "288 For example, on August 18, 2015, on behalf of the editor-in-chief of the internet newspaper Vzglyad, Georgi Asatryan emailed campaign press secretary Hope Hicks asking for a phone or in-person candidate interview. 8/18/15 Email, Asatryan to Hicks. One day earlier, the publication's founder (and former Russian parliamentarian) Konstantin Rykov had registered two Russian websites-Trump2016.ru and DonaldTrump2016.ru. No interview took place." Footnote Pg66 for example.  Being aware of Trump other dealings makes it hard not to think there may have been some degree of pre coordination earlier, that & all the Russian ties. See also from Pg69 "Sater had also served as an informal agent of the Trump Organization in Moscow previously and had accompanied lvanka Trump and Donald Trump Jr. to Moscow in the mid2000s.306"
Pg71"On November 3, 2015, the day after the Trump Organization transmitted the LOI, Sater emailed Cohen suggesting that the Trump Moscow project could be used to increase candidate Trump's chances at being elected, writing: Buddy our boy can become President of the USA and we can engineer it. I will get all of Putins team to buy in on this, I will manage this process .... Michael, Putin gets on stage with Donald for a ribbon cutting for Trump Moscow, and Donald owns the republican nomination. And possibly beats Hillary and our boy is in .. . . We will manage this process better than anyone. You and I will get Donald and Vladimir on a stage together very shortly. That the game changer.327 Later that day, Sater followed up: Donald doesn't stare down, he negotiates and understands the economic issues and Putin only want to deal with a pragmatic leader, and a successful business man is a good candidate for someone who knows how to negotiate. "Business, politics, whatever it all is the same for someone who knows how to deal" " First part alarming!!!! Boy were they wrong on the second part when it comes to international trade deals.
