Maura Sullivan Announces Campaign Teams
PORTSMOUTH – Maura Sullivan, Congressional candidate in New Hampshire’s First District, former active duty Marine, government official, and businesswoman, is thrilled to announce the formation of her campaign team. “We have assembled an outstanding team of committed professionals who will help us run the type of uplifting, grassroots campaign that is needed to ensure we keep this seat blue in November,” Sullivan said.
Acting in a role he held for Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter since 2006, Global Strategy Group founding partner Jefrey Pollock will conduct polling and research for the Sullivan campaign. Global Strategy Group is one of the nation’s go-to public affairs and research firms. It has been named “Pollster of the Year” by the American Association of Political Consultants for two of the last three election cycles, received honors including Public Affairs Agency of the Year and Public Affairs Campaign of the Year, and served dozens of Senators, Representatives, Governors, and Mayors nationwide.
Joe Trippi will be the campaign’s media consultant. Trippi most recently was the media consultant and senior strategist for Senator Doug Jones in Alabama’s 2017 U.S. Senate special election. Last month, Jones became the first Democrat elected to the Senate from Alabama in 25 years. Trippi also advised Congressman Seth Moulton who, like Maura, is a Marine Corps veteran that ran a campaign built on the desire to lead a new generation of servant leaders in government.
The Strategy Group, led by Pete Giangreco and Judith Wallner, will handle the Sullivan campaign’s direct mail program and oversee the production of all print media.  Giangreco played senior roles in mail and paid media on both of President Barack Obama’s presidential campaigns. The Strategy Group brings extensive New Hampshire experience, having led the WOMEN VOTE! mail program for Senator Jeanne Shaheen’s 2014 reelection and subsequently worked with WOMEN VOTE!, the American Federation of Teachers, AFSCME, the Sierra Club and Senate Majority PAC to produce more than twenty pieces of mail for Senator Maggie Hassan’s victory in 2016.
Blueprint Interactive, led by firm partner Geoff Mackler, will direct the Sullivan campaign’s digital media, having previously worked with Planned Parenthood Federation of America and Senate Majority PAC in support of Senator Hassan’s 2016 victory. Other past clients include AFSCME, Sierra Club, and EMILY’s List, and Blueprint brings extensive experience working with candidates and other organizations to engage New Hampshire voters online.
Brett Anders, who previously worked on strategy for MobilizeAmerica, a platform connecting volunteers with Democratic campaigns, will helm the Sullivan campaign. Kaytlynn Jacobs-Brett will work on the campaign’s political operation and grassroots organizing. Prior to the Sullivan campaign, Jacobs-Brett managed the reelection of longtime State Senator Martha Fuller Clark (D-Portsmouth) and has been active in New Hampshire state government.  Lucy Barrett, previously working in development at Harvard University, will lead the campaign’s fundraising. Will Rasky will handle communications and community outreach. Rasky’s previous campaign experience includes work for the direct mail firm Ambrosino, Muir, Hansen & Crounse, and Joe Kennedy III’s first, and successful, campaign for Congress.
Sullivan further commented on this news saying, “I am proud to have this dedicated group of people onboard. More than any other consideration, they know that the hard work of going out and earning the support of the people of New Hampshire’s First District will be our focus, every single day.”
About Maura Sullivan
Rising to the rank of Captain in the Marines, Maura Sullivan spent two years stationed in East Asia before deploying to Fallujah, Iraq. After returning home, attending graduate school, and working as a New England manager for a food and beverage company, Maura joined the Obama Administration: first on the American Battle Monuments Commission, then as an Assistant Secretary at the Department of Veterans Affairs after the VA’s 2014 crisis, and then in the Pentagon as Senior Advisor to the Secretary of the Navy and Assistant to the Secretary of Defense. In these roles she was a leader on projects that included beginning to rebuild veterans’ access to quality health care, working on gender integration in the Navy and the Marines, family, mental health, and LGBT policy reforms across the Defense Department, and the Force of the Future Initiative. Maura has been volunteering on New Hampshire campaigns for women like Rep. Carol Shea-Porter since her first victory in 2006. After her service in the Obama Administration, Maura and her fiancé Marc put down roots in Portsmouth. Maura is running for Congress because our country faces a crisis of leadership that puts our national and economic security at risk, and that she can use her unique mix of experience to bring people together in Washington to get things done for Granite Staters.
