I've noticed a lot of games I like have things to say about immortality so I decided to make a list
Bug Fables: How are you going to get the immortality? How do you plan on handling the consequences of your actions? Is it worth it? Did you think anything through at all?
Hollow Knight: You can't be immortal. Don't try. It just makes more problems.
Everhood: Do you want to be immortal? NO YOU FUCKING DON'T. ENJOY NOTHING FOREVER.
Mad Rat Dead: Why do you want to be immortal? You should really have a reason. Otherwise, it's kinda pointless.
Rain World: People can have different opinions about immortality! Just try not to make too much of a mess, or you and/or everyone else has to deal with that forever.
So, back when I dabbled into this silly Everhood AU, I had a thought of how the ending would play out...
Here's a little bit of context for anyone interested:
In this AU, Red ended up fusing with the human who was assigned to him at one point, starting to grow a personality and emotions of his own.
He keeps doing what he is supposed to do, but every time everything resets, and he's forced to do it all over. The thing is, only he remembers.
At one point he even fuses the Ruby to his hand in hope that the extra power would make a difference, only to experience the loop over and over again.
Then this happens, when Red reaches his limit and can't endure the suffering anymore.
After joining forces with Pink and achieving his goal, he lets everyone move on to the "afterlife", as he decides to confront the Cat God and end it once and for all.
gee i sure love drawing red suffering in the pre-waiting-room void, barred from ever getting the closure and reconciliation they were so promised, doomed to fade away not knowing that they did the right thing, forgotten as the true reaper emerges to finish the job
replaying everhood on ps4 made me realize that red spying on gold pig with telepathy could also be pink's magic, so maybe they're a pacifist due to this and wasnt able to handle hearing everyone's thoughts
