I have a particular headcanon for how the faces of living engines and other large machines and vehicles work, that I am dying to write one day... Mayhaps if people are interested in discussing such things?

Glossed over because Engines/Vehicles being alive and having faces are completely normal #things in the TTTE Universe #But... The way it functions and how people react to such a thing is absolutely something I obsess over #especially in the way some people seem more respectful of the engines vs others being somewhat dismissive about them #Example 1: Sir Topham Hatt's devotion to his engines vs Dowager Hatt being dismissive enough to not remember their names #Example 2: Railworkers and their families being more aware of each engine's personalities vs the passengers treating them as a commodity #Example 3: Earl and the Thin Controller doing their best to preserve engines vs the Railway Industry needlessly scrapping them #and why do some engines/vehicles get faces and lives when others don't???#what are the parameters?#how does it really work?#I AM OBSESSED WITH THIS CONCEPT
