As I understand it, this mostly isn't a problem in the UK because every device has a fuse in the plug. If you plugged something into an extension cable which couldn't handle it, the fuse in the extension cable plug should blow. Additionally, our higher voltage results in lower current for the same power so our devices are less likely to overheat in the first place.

Be careful with extension cables which get wound up onto a reel though. The main problem is the cable heating up as current flows through it. When the cable is wound, it will get hotter quicker because each part of the hot cable is surrounded by other hot cables. My 25m extension is rated for 3120W (13A) when unwound but only 720W (3A) when wound and so has a thermal cutout as well as a fuse.

I assume you could get similar problems if you took a regular extension and coiled it in an enclosed space like the back of a TV cabinet, so maybe don't plug your space heater into that either.

There was no winning this if he chose to attack, no chance at victory all alone with no back up, no minions, no weaponry of his own making, and what’s more, potentially drawing the ire of Carmine was already too much of a risk as it was, and being potentially blacklisted from partaking in her weaponry services would be quite the stick in his craw for any potential plans he may yet have.

So he stayed silent in the face of Vox’s warning, lips curled into the faintest of sneers, a sneer that only grew the slightest bit when the allusion of his demise at the hands of Alastor was made. But at the mention of Husk, a flicker of confusion he felt in his chest made his eyes widen just the smallest fracture, which, in his moment of lapsed attention, allowed Vox the perfect avenue to touch the glass of wine he had been holding. It shattered in his hand like it was nothing more than a lit firecracker, shards of glass spraying up into his face and more importantly, down into his own palm with a burst of pain that made him reel back with a loud hiss of agony, his uninjured hand unthinkingly letting go of his weapon to clutch at his eyes, which were stinging madly and swimming with tears, his other hand riddled with large jagged shards of glass that already began to be soaked through with bright red blood, dripping down onto the the floor below. The wine soaking into his cuts only made the searing agony worse, and in the shock of said pain, he found himself screeching.

“AHHHHHHH! YOU GLASS FACED CABLE BOX SSSSSON OF A WHORE!”

Any other demon at the establishment was frozen now, looking over in shock, tense, preparation for what seemed like the beginnings of a fight.

He goes silent as he listens to Vox talk, his own heart beginning to pound just a little bit harder in his chest as his eyes begin to scan the area around them, looking for any potential escape routes should the Overlord start to show any aggression or plans on making good on his threat to make his hide into a present for Velvette. He knew better to listen to any potential flattery, little and meager as it was, tossed his way. Thankfully, or rather not, depending, he had been caught before he could begin doing his job of actually feeding any information to Vox to begin with, which meant that he never got the chance to let him in on the Hotel itself, nor did he have the chance to give him the misleading data that he had been planning on delivering either.

This encounter would certainly be far more bloody if Vox ever knew he had planned on double crossing him from the start. A part of him knew it still had the potential to get bloody still, and it made his veins run cold.

He starts a little at the sudden flash of light as Vox is suddenly in front of him, and for a moment, he feels his hand clench on what he had been reaching for. He lets it go just as quickly, hoping that the other wouldn’t notice, and instead grits his teeth, his hood now openly flaring out and rattling faintly. A meager, useless warning, toothless, but one his body still felt it should give, even as his coils vaguely tense, preparing for the opportunity to bolt. He knew the situation. If Vox attacked him here, he’d be helpless. “…Perhapsss not. And sssseeing as I was minding my own business before you approached, I had no intentions of picking one either. So please, if you don’t mind letting me return to my drink…”

He reaches to pick up the glass of wine, idly trying to calculate if throwing it in Vox’s face would be enough to fry his circuits long enough to get away, should it come to that.
