Nell’Internet esistono diversi servizi che permettono lo scambio di file di dimensioni anche grosse. Uno di questi è FileDropper, recentemente avviato. Ma ne esistono altri, che qui elenco.
Un’annotazione preliminare: l’unico servizio che ho provato è FileDropper. Non è detto che gli altri funzionino (per essere precisi Megaupload ha inchiodato Safari su Windows, e Rapidshare non sembra funzionare con Safari su Windows).
FileDropper è utilizzabile senza alcuna registrazione: si carica il file e quindi viene visualizzato il link a cui riferirsi per lo scarico.
Si possono caricare fino a 5 Gbyte. Una volta caricato un file non si ha più alcun controllo su di esso; è chiaro che se il contenuto del file è riservato, come minimo è meglio criptare il file, o rinunciare del tutto a questa forma di scambio (ma questo vale anche per ciascuno di questi servizi, e se si va per il sottile vale anche per Google Mail...).
FileDropper sembra funzionare solo con Windows (con MacOsX, anche usando Firefox, non sono riuscito a far funzionare le cose).
Il sito di FileDropper cita, a livello di pubblicità comparativa, MegaUpload and RapidShare.
Megaupload non permette l’uso senza registrazione. Il massimale è 500 Mbyte.
Rapidshare ha un massimale di 100 Mbyte, però permette l’uso anche senza registrazione e la possibilità di cancellare il file caricato (dà un senso di riservatezza maggiore, però chissà se il file lo cancellano per davvero...).

Last week, the Metasploit team flew out to sunny, hot, and dry Las Vegas for Hacker Summer Camp (Black Hat, BSidesLV, and DEF CON). It was a full week of epic hacks, good conversation, and even a little business!

In between Vegas and the Exploit That Shall Not Be Named, we’ve been steadily at work enhancing modules, the console, and fixing bugs for this release.
msfvenom in my msfconsole?
Back in June of last year, we aligned the options for msfconsole‘s generate command with msfvenom‘s options. Since the change was subtle and may not have been picked up by the various tutorials on the Net, this will be a quick recap on how to use the new-ish options.

What’s even cooler is that generate will remember the datastore options you gave it, allowing you to invoke it again with different options, such as writing the payload to a file.
Here we demo writing the payload windows/shell_reverse_tcp to file shell_reverse_tcp.exe without having to set LHOST again.

Enhancements and features
PR #12161 – The linux/gather/hashdump module has been updated to gather password history information from /etc/security/opasswd.
Bugs fixed
PR #12202 – This adds the needs_cleanup attribute to post modules, fixing a crash when the attribute is used (such as in FileDropper) without being available.
PR #12199 – This replaces a backtrace with a friendly error message when the user specifies an invalid value for RHOSTS in an exploit module.
PR #12198 – This restores functionality from Metasploit 4 and earlier where payload-specific options to the generate command can be passed with -o. For parity with the msfvenom command however, prefer simply specifying options directly with Metasploit 5 and later.
PR #12188 – This fixes tools/modules/module_author.rb to use the renamed fullname value.

Identifying Sources of Leaks with the Gmail “+” Feature
For years, Google is offering two nice features with his gmail.com platform to gain more power of your email address. You can play with the “+” (plus) sign or “.” (dot) to create more email addresses linked to your primary one. Let’s take an example with John who’s the owner of [email protected]. John can share the email address “[email protected]” with his friends playing soccer or “[email protected]” to register on forums talking about information security. It’s the same with dots. Google just ignore them. So “[email protected]” is the same as “[email protected]”. Many people use the “+” format to optimize the flood of email they receive every day and automatically process it / store it in separate folders. That’s nice but it can also be very useful to discover where an email address is being used.
A few days ago, Troy Hunt, the owner of haveibeenpwned.com service (if you don’t know it yet, just have a look and register!), announced that new massive dumps were in the wild for a total of ~1B passwords! The new dumps are called “Exploit.In” (593M entries) and “Anti Public Combo List” (427M entries). The sources of the leaks are not clear. I grabbed a copy of the data and searched for Google “+” email addresses.
Not surprising, I found +28K unique accounts! I extracted strings after the “+” sign and indexed everything in Splunk:
As you can see, we recognise some known online services:
xtube (adult content)
friendster (social network)
filesavr (file exchange service in the cloud)
linkedin (social network)
bioware (gaming platform)
This does not mean that those platforms were breached (ok, LinkedIn was) but it can give some indicators…
