Problem is sometimes euthanasia can be the best option for some people
But y'know, everything depends on the situation
There was a young man from the UK, his girlfriend had tossed battery acid in his face.
I'm just going to do this, sticks with me since I think it was the first thing like this I ever really interacted with. Link
Tumblr media
A woman threw acid over her former partner in an attack that left him with such "grotesque" injuries Belgian doctors agreed to end his life.
Berlinah Wallace, 49, is accused of murder and applying a corrosive fluid to Dutch engineer Mark van Dongen in Bristol in 2015.
Mr van Dongen ran screaming into the street in his boxer shorts with "horrific" injuries before being taken to hospital, Bristol Crown Court heard.
Ms Wallace denies both charges.
The attack on 23 September left Mr van Dongen, 29, paralysed from the neck down, unrecognisable and all but blinded, Bristol Crown Court heard.
Ms Wallace allegedly laughed and told him "if I can't have you, no-one else can" before throwing a glass of sulphuric acid into his face.
Prosecutor Adam Vaitilingam QC said the defendant "deliberately threw acid at Mr van Dongen, intending to cause him serious harm".
"She admits throwing it but denies any intent to cause him harm. She says that she believed that what she was throwing over him was a glass of water."
(oh yes people often mistake acid for water I'm sure)
Mr Vaitilingam said Mr van Dongen's "physical and mental suffering" drove him to euthanasia.
"Put simply, he could not bear to live in that condition. If that is right, we say, then she is guilty of murder," he added.
The court was told Mr van Dongen suffered 15 months of pain before being granted euthanasia in Belgium, where it is legal and where his family lives, in January 2017.
"He was examined by three consultants, who confirmed that this was, in their terms, a case of unbearable physical and psychological suffering despite maximum medical support," Mr Vaitilingam added.
"They agreed that the test for euthanasia was met, and on 2 January 2017 they inserted a catheter into his heart, which brought about his immediate death." ___________
Not really a fan of euthanasia, but as reasons go, I wouldn't fight anyone over this I don't think.
Now let's go to Canada.
Tumblr media
Canada's Veterans Affairs office offered to assist a Paralympian and veteran to commit suicide when she sought to have a wheelchair lift installed in her home, the woman told lawmakers last week.
Christine Gauthier, a 52-year-old retired corporal who competed in the 2016 Paralympics at Rio De Janeiro, testified to lawmakers that a VA official had offered — in writing — to provide her with a medically-assisted suicide kit. The case officer remains unnamed but reportedly made similar offers to at least three other veterans, according to the Independent.
"I have a letter saying that if you’re so desperate, madam, we can offer you MAID, medical assistance in dying," Gauthier said in a hearing before the House of Commons veterans affairs committee.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau condemned the incident in a public statement on Friday after Gauthier said she personally wrote him a letter on the issue.
(I don't believe for a moment trudeau is displeased with anything about this other than the press it's getting is making him look bad)
This woman here
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Wanted one of these
Tumblr media
And was given the option of ending her own life instead.
So ya, you're right and I'm showing here 2 fairly extreme ends of the spectrum when it comes to this kind of thing, there should be some dignity allowed out there and you shouldn't be forced to live in excruciating pain where every moment after the morphine wears off leaves you in agony.
He went and made the decision for himself to do what he did and several doctors signed off on it saying, ya dude's fucked and baring a miracle will be beyond miserable for the foreseeable future so we're gonna ok this request, coup de grace, mercy killing.
Then we have a mostly fit veteran, paralympian, athlete that would like to be able to go upstairs in the home they live in and the doctor hands them a brochure that says have you considered suicide. (probably far more tastefully put than that, but still)
So while you are right there are situations that call for it, having EDS shouldn't be one of them, neither should having OCD, Borderline, Schizophrenia or Bipolar,
and being poor should not be a factor included either
OCD, Borderline, Schizophrenia and Bipolar I haven't actually seen if they're offering it to them but with the fact that they are offering to people with mental issues I wouldn't be surprised.
This is not mercy, mercy is helping people heal that can be helped heal, it's a chairlift for someone. it's not a needle so they don't have to fuss with it
Canada's standards for this are already too loose and they're about to get looser, doctors that don't want to treat someone might start pointing folks towards this too.
It's wrong,

Kaiju Week in Review (June 11-17, 2023)
youtube
Tsuburaya Productions released a five-minute trailer for Ultraman Blazar, focused on the human cast. Between this and the unveiling of a bunch of the monsters (a combination of originals and some deep cuts), it continues to look extremely promising.
Tumblr media
Toho launched a Twitter account for their next Godzilla film on June 12. It's been counting down all the "core" (live-action and Toho-produced) entries in the series at the rate of one per day, starting with Shin Godzilla. Presumably, they'll reveal the poster, title, and maybe more for the new one at the end (so July 11). The way they're doing this also lends credibility to the rumored Godzilla Zero title.
Tumblr media
Hoshi 35, Megumi Odaka's triumphant return to movies, released a trailer, poster, and a bunch of stills (gathered on Wikizilla). Alas, no shots of the daikaiju in the trailer, just the baby.
Tumblr media
Bandai's finally going to be producing Ultraman toys for the U.S., with the first wave focused on the animated Netflix movie due next year.
Tumblr media
For those of you headed to G-Fest next month, the full schedule is out, and they finally announced the Friday and Saturday movies at the Pickwick: Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla and Godzilla (2014), respectively. King Kong Escapes will also replace Shin Ultraman on Thursday. Dunno if I'll go to GXMG (I just rewatched it before the Tokyo SOS Fathom Event), but I'm lunging at the chance to see G14 properly-lit and with booming sound. They showed it in 2017 too and it was a blast. For the hotel's film festival, the big title of interest is Yuzo the Biggest Battle in Tokyo, a Yoshikazu Ishii joint set during the pandemic. And if you haven't caught Iké Boys yet, that's playing twice (very much before the audience it was intended for).
Also, go to my friend Alana's panel about designing kaiju gijinkas for cosplay (Saturday at 1). If you've been to either of the past two cons, you probably remember her Mothra costumes, and we're both working on a bunch more for this year.
Tumblr media
Oh yeah, and there's a third North American kaiju con, Super G, starting up in the fall... well, sort of. It might be better termed a convention within a convention (Northern National Collectors’ Convention). September 29-October 1 in Windsor, Canada, right on the Michigan border. Not many specifics yet, but the press release says, "Super G will offer fans a variety of guest celebrities and artists, direct from Japan and around the world, who worked on Kaiju franchises making either their first-ever or first-Canadian convention appearances. Inclusion opportunities feature program panels, contests, experiences, theatrical showings, collectables, cosplay, and more."
Tumblr media
I haven't been keeping up with Godziban's multi-episode collaboration with Televi-Kun—seems like pretty routine stuff—but then they had to pay homage to Sharknado in the newest installment. I knew, of course, that this day would eventually come. Now which one of you said sharknadoes weren't kaiju back when I was unhealthily obsessed with that series?

Houthi Success Swatting Reaper Drones Like Flies Exposes Chinks in US Military's High-Tech Armor
— Sputnik International | Saturday September 14, 2024
Yemen’s Houthi militia has now downed over a quarter billion dollars’ worth of General Atomics MQ-9 Reapers. Sputnik asked a leading regional affairs observer what will happen if the humbling trend continues.
The latest Reaper shootdown took place last Saturday while the drone was carrying out intelligence-gathering activities over Marib province in central Yemen, according to the Houthis. The US military initially refused to confirm the loss, holding out until Friday, when an anonymous DoD official told US state media that an Air Force MQ-9 had been “struck but then landed safely and was recovered by US partner forces on September 9” somewhere in the Middle East.
The Pentagon did not elaborate on where exactly the drone touched down, who recovered it or what shape it was in.
The damaged Reaper is at least the eighth $32 million-apiece US reconnaissance and strike UAV downed by the Houthis since last November.
On August 4, the Houthis blew a Reaper out of the sky over Saada, northwestern Yemen. An informed source told Sputnik the militia used a modernized Soviet 2K12 Kub air defense system to do. The Houthis are known to have adopted the Kub to fire Yemeni-made Fater-1 interceptor missiles.
On May 29, the Houthis destroyed an unmarked Reaper, possibly belonging to the CIA, over Marib, releasing footage of warriors wearing sandals standing on top of the downed drone.
Tumblr media
On May 24, the Houthis shot down an MQ-9 over Sanaa, Yemen’s capital.
On May 17, another Reaper was destroyed over Marib.
On April 27, the Houthis shot down an MQ-9 in Sadaa province in northwestern Yemen.
On February 19, a Reaper was destroyed over al-Hudaydah city in western Yemen.
On November 8, 2023, a US Air Force Reaper was downed over the Red Sea somewhere off the Yemeni coast.
The Houthis shot down three additional Reapers between 2017 and 2019, along with an array of other pricey NATO-made weaponry during the US’s attempts to help a Gulf coalition oust the militia from power.
Dangerous Precedent For US MIC
“The downing of yet another drone could negatively impact the reputation of the US military-industrial complex on the international stage. Confidence in the effectiveness of US defense technologies and military power could be undermined. This may lead to potential clients in US military and technology exports becoming concerned about the failures of American products in the field,” political scientist and international affairs observer Dr. Mehmet Rakipoglu told Sputnik, commenting on Washington's Houthi headache.
Politically and strategically, the success of the Houthi anti-drone campaign may undermine the justifications for continued US operations and presence in the region, and even “raise questions about the effectiveness of US power projection policies…potentially threatening Washington’s regional and global strategic interests in the long term,” Rakipoglu, an assistant professor at Turkiye's Mardin Artuklu University, explained.
The US is between a rock and a hard place battling the Houthis, unwilling to become further entangled in a large-scale confrontation for fear of sparking a regional war with their Iranian Axis of Resistance allies, but unable to extract themselves without losing face.
The Houthis have shown that they “have the capacity to counter one of the most advanced technologies” in the US’s arsenal, and can outcompete the Pentagon on costs too, Rakipoglu says.
“The relative cheapness and local production-based equipment used by the Houthis can lead to more losses for the US, [whose] military expenditures run into billions of dollars. This emerges as not only a financial issue but also a strategic one,” according to the academic, raising “questions about the effectiveness of American military spending,” and calling “into question how sustainable it is to rely solely on technological superiority.”
The Houthis' success against the US-led armada assembled against them has proven highly embarrassing for Washington and its allies. On Friday, former Royal Navy Commander Tom Sharpe, admitted the failure of efforts by the West to bring the Yemeni militia to heel.
"They're achieving their ends, all of them, and we're achieving none of ours. We're spending millions and millions of dollars on not winning. It's a real problem," Sharpe said, referencing the Houthi promise to continue their Red Sea blockade until peace is achieved in Gaza.

RIDE Shares New Single "Last Frontier" + Announces NA, UK, and IRE Tour
Tumblr media
Ride reveals their latest single “Last Frontier,” marking the second preview from their upcoming seventh album, Interplay, scheduled for release on March 29 via Wichita Recordings / PIAS. With the launch of this single, the band from Oxford announces tours across North America, the UK, and Ireland. They will begin their tour in North America in May, shortly after “Interplay” is released, followed by performances in the UK and Ireland in September, featuring a notable show at London’s Roundhouse. Tickets will be available for purchase at 10am on Friday through their official website. “Last Frontier” showcases a gradually intensifying ethereal beat, blending a rich tapestry of sounds with timeless indie craftsmanship. Guitarist and vocalist Andy Bell comments on the song’s evolution, noting it as an initially overlooked piece from their first jam session at Mark’s OX4 Studio. It was the insight of their producer, Richie Kennedy, that recognized the song’s potential, leading to a complete overhaul at Vada studio, aiming for a raw, Joy Division-like foundation. Bell experimented with various vocal styles during recording, seeking spontaneity and innovation in his delivery. This approach, he admits, was a departure from his usual method, offering a blend of meticulous composition and on-the-fly creativity that he aims to pursue further. “Interplay” represents Ride’s third album since their 2014 reunion, marking a period where the band has spent more time together in this second era than during their initial phase as ‘90s shoegaze icons. Following “Weather Diaries” (2017) and “This Is Not A Safe Place” (2019), the album aims to ignite the band’s legacy anew, appealing to longstanding fans while captivating a new generation. The album, co-produced with Richie Kennedy and mixed by Claudius Mittendorfer, bridges the gap across their career. It reimagines the energetic guitar work, mesmerizing rhythms, and melodic allure of their early days within a broader, more vibrant sonic landscape, drawing inspiration from ’80s pop icons like Tears For Fears, Talk Talk, and early U2. Upcoming Tour Dates: 5/11 - Boston, MA @ Big Night Live 5/13 - Montreal, QB @ Theatre Fairmount 5/14 - Toronto, ON @ Concert Hall 5/15 - Detroit, MI @ Majestic Theatre 5/16 - Chicago, IL @ Metro 5/17 - Minneapolis, MN @ Fine Line 5/19 - Denver, Colorado @ Gothic Theater 5/22 - Vancouver, BC @ Commodore Ballroom 5/23 - Portland, OR @ Mission Theater 5/25 - Seattle, WA @ Showbox 9/2 - Belfast, UK @ Limelight 9/3 - Dublin, Ireland @ Olympia 9/4 - Cork, Ireland @ Cyprus Avenue 9/6 - Sheffield, UK @ Leadmill 9/7 - Newcastle, UK @ Boilershop 9/8 - Glasgow, UK @ SWG 3 TV Studio 9/10 - Liverpool, UK @ Invisible Wind Factory 9/12 - Leeds, UK @ Stylus 9/13 - Manchester, UK @ New Century 9/14 - Bristol, UK @ SWX 9/16 - Falmouth, UK @ Princess Pavilions 9/17 - Portsmouth, UK @ Guildhall 9/18 - Brighton, UK @ Chalk 9/20 - London, UK @ Roundhouse 9/21 - Wolverhampton, UK @ Wulfrun Halls 9/22 - Cambridge, UK @ Junction Read the full article

Swamp Thing
flickr
Swamp Thing por David Blazejewski Por Flickr: On this gloomy early fall Friday I finally got my first look at New England's newest railroad, The Berkshire and Eastern Railroad, a Genesee and Wyoming subsidiary which began operation on September 1 after a protected delay. They are the new contract operator of the jointly owned CSXT/NS former Pan Am Southern which is basically the western half of the former Boston and Maine Railroad and all its attendant branch lines and trackage rights. How things will change in the future is yet to be determined, but for now it still looks like the Pan Am of old we all knew and loved....haha right?!?! There is the first hint of early fall color in the swamps as an unidentified Ayer yard crew switches out Catania Oils as they nose onto the Ardent Mills loop in this telephoto view from the Wagon Wheel Rd. crossing at old PAR milepost 312.5 (measured from Mattawamkeag, ME) on District Three of the former Freight Mainline. They are using solo BERX 7635 still dressed in unpatched Pan Am blue (several others have already had their PAR lettering and logos painted over). The unit is a GE C40-8 originally built for CSXT in Aug. 1990 and acquired by Pan Am in 2017 in a deal brokered by GE. Ayer, Massachusetts Friday September 29, 2023

(Yeah, I admittedly rushed this one. Sorry)
September 14, 2018:
Davis (as Scorpi): Er... Okay, I think it's on, now...
*moves over to the couch that the camera is pointing directly at*
Davis: Uh, hi there, everyone. It's uh... me, Davis. So, I'm sure you're all probably wondering what is going on... Well, erm...
.......
Davis: O-Okay, let me explain. So, obviously, I'm currently stuck as a penguin in the Cartoon World, and I'm not able to speak English as one. Well, I decided that... that I could try to interact with you guys, seeing as I'm able to speak again... a-as a Mixel.
.........
Davis: N-Now don't worry, Tommy and Tara aren't being replaced. They're... they're still hosting in the Cartoon World... but they... hopefully aren't aware of this. I mean, there's not that many people that I'd... feel like telling about this whole Mixels thing... towards...
Flare (offscreen, holding the mic): *Ahem*
Davis: Oh right, um... well I uh... think it's time to get back to tonight's Stick Friends now... y-yeah....
================================================
Okay, so what the heck is this supposed to be, exactly?
As I stated in that segment, in the cartoon world, I had been stuck as a penguin that was unable to speak any language (besides penguin noises). I had been stuck as a penguin since January 2018, and I didn't get my old body back until 2 years later (January 2020).
Luckily, since I had access to the Mixels' dimension through Scorpi's body (don't worry, I don't think he minded), I was actually able to speak in my normal voice (despite Scorpi only being able to make squeaking noises).
So, because some of the Mixels were familiar with TV production, I decided to ask a few to get involved and film live segments for Fridays in the Mixels dimension.
At first, however, everything was pretty much improvised. I didn't use a script until a few months later (I think it was November), I often missed cues because I wasn't paying attention to the time, and I didn't even have a studio until February 1, 2019. Initially, I just filmed in the Spikels' tribe base, sitting on a couch.
I remember thinking that none of the Fridays crew in the main Cartoon World were aware of me doing this. That was until January 29, 2021 when I was told that they knew the whole time.
Naturally, many were upset with my addition for obvious reasons (lack of studio, no script, me being lazy, etc.).
Luckily, we began to pick things up around January/February 2019:
We got our own studio for the show, which was almost identical to the original studio from the Powerhouse Era, all the way down to the transporter they had during that Era.
With the studio, we were able to bring on an audience, just like in the Cartoon World.
On February 8, 2019, I brought on a co-host in the form of Chao (AKA that Cragster+Zorch lookalike with brown hair). She would stay for the rest of the block's run.
We quickly got a much bigger crew to help us out.
Also, If I'm being honest, another reason I did this was because of things falling apart.
2018 wasn't the best year for Fridays, with production nearly being cancelled twice.
The 1st was due to us constantly skipping weeks. This warning came about in March of that year, after a 4-week period without any Fridays shows.
The next warning came around August or September, due to the cast and crew not doing much other than say when a show was next or whatever, that or just making normal conversation with each other. This issue had started around late 2017, but had gotten worse by fall 2018.
Ultimately, this Mixels thing, though disliked, ended up being one of the factors that helped save Fridays.
I'm mainly bringing this up because there are some segments from the Mixels dimension that I'd like to share with you guys this month.

In a week teeming with significant events, the Bitcoin and crypto cryptocurrency sector braces itself for potential market shifts. From legal proceedings to macroeconomic data releases, the coming days promise a medley of determinants that could substantially impact Bitcoin and the broader crypto market. 1. Bitcoin Spot ETF Approval? SEC’s Grayscale Appeal Deadline Looms (Friday) On August 29, 2023, the DC Circuit Court of Appeals unanimously ruled in favor of Grayscale regarding its proposal to convert the Bitcoin Trust (GBTC) into the first exchange-traded Bitcoin fund. The court deemed the SEC’s denial as “arbitrary and capricious” due to inconsistency with futures-based BTC products. Friday, October 13, is the SEC’s last day to appeal this decision. And not appealing could hint at the SEC approving multiple Bitcoin spot ETF applications soon. CNBC reported positive sentiments, with Bitwise CIO Matt Hougan anticipating a spot bitcoin ETF within the year and VanEck CEO Jan van Eck projecting a spot product in early 2024. Hougan stated: “I expect we’ll see a spot bitcoin ETF this calendar year.” VanEck CEO Jan van Eck predicted: “It looks like early in 2024 we will probably see a spot product.” Notably, the SEC has shown a promising sign, a departure from its historical stance on spot ETF approvals. Eric Balchunas, a leading ETF analyst at Bloomberg, highlighted this change in a recent tweet. Balchunas commented: Yes, while the SEC delayed spot bitcoin filings last week, they also sent the issuers comments to address their S-1 filings (related to plumbing, legal). This is a break from the typical pattern of delay, delay, radio silence then denial. A welcome sign IMO although the timeline is unclear. 2. Binance Vs. SEC Clash Continues (Thursday) The standoff between Binance.US and the SEC took an interesting turn in mid-September when Federal Magistrate Judge Zia Faruqui rejected the SEC’s bid to inspect Binance.US’s tech systems, stating the request was overly invasive. The SEC accuses both Binance platforms of operating without proper licenses, allegedly earning a staggering $11.6 billion from U.S. customers since July 2017. With the SEC’s previous attempt to expedite discovery stymied by Binance.US’s alleged non-cooperation, October 12 (Thursday) sees the next crucial hearing in this legal battle. 3. US CPI Data Release (Thursday) Market watchers await September’s CPI report with bated breath, given the present uncertainty around the economy’s direction. Last month’s figures indicated a 3.7% y/y inflation rate. Although September’s numbers are anticipated to reflect a mild 0.3% m/m inflation, the annual figure could inch up to 3.8%. However, core CPI — which omits volatile food and energy prices — could offer more clarity. With a 12-month downward trend, the number is projected to drop to 4.1% y/y this September, potentially reinforcing the notion of waning inflation. 4. FOMC Minutes To Shed Light On Monetary Policy? (Wednesday) The release of September’s FOMC minutes (2:00 pm ET) is eagerly awaited for insights on the Fed’s stance concerning soft-landing scenarios and monetary policy. As Bitcoin and the wider crypto markets anticipate possible moves, recent upticks in yields have garnered the attention of several Fed officials. Last week’s 16-year peak of a 4.88% 10-year yield has had strong significant ramifications on the US dollar. Should the minutes reveal heightened inflation concerns over economic slowdown fears, yields could soar even further. Thus, the macro headwinds for Bitcoin and crypto could intensify. The Fed officials’ perspective on the situation will be interesting for traders. 5. More Macro Data Another standout data point will be September’s US Producer Price Index (PPI) Inflation, set to be unveiled on Wednesday. Back in August, the PPI inflation rate surprised many when it outpaced forecasts to reach 1.6% year-on-year (YoY). The coming month’s figures, according to analysts’ projections, are also expected to clock in at 1.
6% YoY. When observing the data on a month-on-month (MoM) basis, September’s forecast stands at a rise of +0.3%, contrasting with the previous figure of +0.7%. In tandem with the PPI data, Thursday will see the release of the OPEC monthly report. Following the Hamas attack on Israel, the oil price jumped to $89 a barrel. As such, the oil price could be one of the big spoilers for falling inflation. Also on Thursday, the US jobless claims data will be made public. Moreover, there will be twelve events featuring speakers from the Federal Reserve. Given the heightened focus on inflation and monetary policy, remarks from Fed officials will be closely scrutinized for insights and indications about the future direction of economic policy. This convergence of major events makes it an undeniably pivotal week for Bitcoin, the wider crypto market, and the traditional financial world. All eyes are on the aforementioned developments to decipher their potential ripple effects across markets. At press time, BTC traded at $27,790. Police issue update in 1992 disappearance of Kenley Matheson
Police in Nova Scotia have conducted a site visit at a location on Melanson Mountain in relation to the 1992 disappearance of Acadia University student Kenley Matheson.
The Southwest Nova RCMP Major Crime Unit made the update to the case public on Friday after a search of Melanson Mountain. The Major Crime Unit was joined by:
the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner’s Office
St. Thomas University’s Anthropology Department
Acadia University’s Earth and Environmental Science Department
Doug Teeft of Teeft K9
“Based on the information obtained, the RCMP and our partners are making plans with regard to the best and most effective way to process the site both thoroughly, and safely,” investigators said in a statement.
Investigators say a September 2022 plea for information from the public did not result in any new information coming forward.
But on May 29, 2023, investigators received a call from a journalist hoping to schedule a meeting regarding the investigation. Police say investigators learned the journalist had taken part in a search on May 23 and 24 on Melanson Mountain. According to the journalist, a cadaver dog was brought in to assist the search.
“The dog indicated an area of interest,” RCMP said in a statement, “however, no human remains were located.”
On June 13, investigators met with the cadaver dog team and visited the site on Melanson Mountain. Officers say the area is on “very steep terrain” and safety precautions would be required for any search or excavation efforts.
On June 22, the owner of the property officially permitted the RCMP and the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner’s Office to conduct a search on the property.
Police say more details will be released to the public “once the site processing has occurred.”
KENLEY’S DISAPPEARANCE
He was last seen on Sept. 21, 1992, walking on Main Street in Wolfville, N.S. A police description of Matheson at the time indicated he was wearing jeans, a purple t-shirt and a baseball cap at the time of his disappearance. Police say he was also carrying a red and black backpack.
Since then, loved ones have been unable to make contact with Matheson. His bank account has remained untouched.
Matheson’s case was added to the Nova Scotia Department of Justice Reward for Major Unsolved Crimes Program in 2012, offering up to $150,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for his disappearance.
Five years later, in 2017, police released an age progression sketch of what Matheson may look like in present day.
‘MISSING KENLEY’
Matheson’s disappearance was featured in the 2022 docuseries “Missing Kenley,” created by filmmaker Ron Lamothe.
In October 2022, Lamothe reflected on his journey of over 10 years creating the television program about Matheson’s disappearance.
"It's our belief that Kenley's remains can be returned to his parents in Cape Breton because we believe we know where his remains are," said Lamothe. "So, that would be one of the next steps moving forward is to locate them."
"Missing Kenley" is available on Amazon Prime, Google Play and several other streaming platforms, which are all listed on the "Missing Kenley" website.

Stuff I’m Looking Forward to in November
We’re now deep into Q4 of 2022. In addition to Daylight Savings Time Ends (Fall Behind on 11/6), Election Day (11/8), Veterans Day (11/11), and Thanksgiving (11/25), here is what’s on my radar this month:
Movies:
Weird: The Al Yankovic Story
In 2010, one of the funniest parodies on Funny or Die was a music biopic trailer Weird: The Al Yankovic Story with Aaron Paul as an exaggerated version of Weird Al. Now that short movie trailer has become a feature-length movie with Daniel Radcliffe as Al. The real Weird All is a co-writer, producer and cast member as record exec Tony Scotti. Premieres 11/4 on Roku Channel (movie review coming soon).
The Fabelmans
Steven Spielberg’s new drama is a semi-autobiographical drama about an Arizona family in the 1950s as the child is learning about the magic of film. I am so there! Opens 11/11.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
I named the first Black Panther my #8 Movie of 2018. It lived up to the praise! The sequel opens 11/11.
A Christmas Story Christmas
It’s been 39 years since the now-classic A Christmas Story was released. Now Ralphie and many of the other original cast members are back for the sequel premiering 11/17 on HBO Max.
She Said
The story of the New York Times breaking the story about Harvey Weinstein in 2017 is getting the movie treatment with an impressive cast. Opening 11/18.
White Noise
Noah Baumbach has been on a roll and his new one is a disaster movie, but the way he’d do it. Opens in limited released on 11/25 before Netflix premiere in December.
Music:
Phoenix Alpha Zulu
French indie rocker Phoenix have been on my radar since the 00s. In September I saw the band live for the first time at Roadrunner and they put on a great show. The band’s 7th album drops 11/4.
Bruce Springsteen Only the Strong Survive
The Boss is doing an entire covers album of R&B classics. Similar to his Peter Seeger cover album he did, this is going to be The Boss bringing his sound to someone else’s songs. Album drops 11/11.
Smashing Pumpkins Atum: Act 1
Smashing Pumpkins are releasing their rock opera in three parts with Act 1 dropping 11/15. Act 2 will be released 1/31/22 and Act 3 (as well as the physical box set) drop on 4/23/22.
Neil Young and Crazy Horse World Record
What a year this has been for Neil Young and Crazy Horse fans. Over the Summer, they released the Toast, originally recorded in 2001. The band’s new studio album drops 11/18.
TV:
Wednesday (Netflix)
This new series about Wednesday Addams got my attention when I heard Tim Burton was producing / directing. Premieres on 11/23.
The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special (Disney +)
The Guardians of the Galaxy are probably the most fun characters in MCU since they are kinda sarcastic and funny. They have a holiday special featuring Kevin Bacon as himself (connecting Marvel to the Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon game in one degree now!). Premieres on Disney + on 11/25.
Fake Holidays:
In addition to Black Friday (11/25), Cyber Monday (11/28) and Giving Tuesday (11/29), I’m excited about Record Store Day Black Friday on 11/25!
