Two Bartenders Walk Into A Church...

Dawn was a student when she started working at Fridays as a server in 2005. A few weeks later, another student, Tony, started at the same Fridays. They exchanged glances. They started flirting. And giggling. And soon, they were officially dating. When they were both promoted to bartender, they stirred up even more chemistry – as well as delicious, handcrafted cocktails – behind the bar.

“We worked really well together. We were a kick-ass team behind the bar.” – Dawn

And there seemed to be another benefit.

“I made much more money working behind the bar with her than the other guys because she’s so cute!” – Tony

As the two poured drafts and mixed cocktails, the romance blossomed even more, and a few years later, they were engaged. Let’s all say it together: “Awwww.” Friendships also blossomed with fellow bartenders and servers, two of whom were in the wedding party.

“I gained two great friends and my husband out of working at TGI Fridays.” – Dawn

Dawn and Tony couldn’t imagine a wedding day without a visit to the place it all started.

“We absolutely had to go back and get pictures at Fridays. We wanted to incorporate it into our big day.” – Dawn

The happy couple keeps in touch with their former Fridays friends and recently took a trip back to find a newly remodeled restaurant, of which they were a bit jealous.

“…The changes were everything we would have wanted when we worked there.” – Dawn

These days, they visit their local Fridays when they’re craving a bit of nostalgia. And they order their favorites: pot stickers to start, the flatiron for Tony, a turkey sandwich or a salad for Dawn, and margaritas, “of course.”

“I’m a big fan of the craft beer, so I always like to see what they have and try them.” – Tony

What started as a job to get through Tony’s last year of college turned into “probably the best job I had, looking back.”  

Dawn couldn’t agree more.

“(We made) lots of memories there, and we made quite a few of them on our wedding day.” – Dawn
