#Fun fact I read the whole of dungeon meshi really fast the first time and finished not knowing any of the character's names

I just finished reading the first volume, and something I noticed is that senshi doesn't seem to remember/use people's names until they've kind of "proven" themselves. If I'm remembering correctly, the first time he uses Marcille's name is after the mandrake incident, where the one she got tasted less bitter. And the first time I remember him using chilchucks name was after the first trap room.

I'm curious to see how consistent it is, but it definitely seems like a character choice for senshi!

I noticed that too! I wonder if Senshi has trouble with names, one of the things he does in his diary is always write down the name of the new people he meets.

He even put down the family tree of the orcs because he has known them for generations <3

You mentioned the trap room and that's also the one where he wrote his name down several times to get it the right way !
