Those who were elected are- Pradeep Kamboj, Preet Bhargava, Sunil Singh, Achal Rohit, Ritima, Parmender Bansal, Mukesh Pal, Rajesh Ranjan, Lalit Sanwal and Rajeev Kumar.
In last couple of years, there have been regular conflict between residents and society’s developer or maintenance department and hence formation of AOA had become necessary. In fact, the Gaur Group (developer) has been pushing residents to form AOA and take handover. Now, it is expected that things would be streamlined in a better way at the society.
Pradeep Kamboj, one of the contestant, who secured maximum support, talking to City Spidey said that conducting transparent and fair elections was not possible without cooperation from the residents. However, there are many challenges in front of us in the coming times.
Members of the AOA will now proceed towards signing the Memorandum of Transfer (MOT). They already have several agendas in mind which will be implemented at the society.
“Our first priority is to receive all documents from the builder. Audit of maintenance charges to be another issue which will decide the future course of action. Then, there are many development related to basic facilities, housekeeping, cleanliness, gardening, parks and many more. Water seepage have been reported from many places in basement area and that would be taken on priority,” Kamboj added.
After the audit, the AOA will decide whether they are going to increase or decrease the maintenance charges for the residents living in the society. The elected members also plan to check whether the clearances have been given by for the various facilities that have been provided within the society.
Preet Bhargava, another elected member said, “Unity of elected members will be required to take care of all the issues and access all relevant documents from the builder. We know that the residents have lots of expectations from us. We can make out this after seeing their active participation in the elections.”
However, few residents have reservations whether the elected members will perform the tasks effectively. They said that the elected members belonged to different groups of residents which had differences in the past.
Sachin Sharma, a resident said, “I think it is a win-win situation not only for those won the elections but all of the residents. I said this because, I am living here for last four years and there have been several issues with the builder. Whenever residents used to have some issue, we had to reach out to the builder. Most of the time, we had to return empty-handed because of two reasons – lack of unity among residents and a legal body managed by residents.
