a culinária alemã, assim como todos os países, é bastante diversa e varia, de acordo com a região do país. a carne de porco, bovina e de aves são as principais variedades de carne consumidas na alemanha, a de porco sendo a mais popular. em todas as regiões, a carne é muitas vezes comida em forma de salsicha (mais de 1500 tipos de salsicha são produzidos no país). o consumo de alimentos orgânicos está aumentando e a tendência é que sejam ainda mais consumidos pela população. seguindo seu estereótipo, a bebida alcoólica mais consumida é, sem dúvidas, a cerveja — não obstante o vinho esteja se tornando mais popular. também, são conhecidos por beberem suco de frutas e água no lugar de refrigerante. aliás, a água mineral gaseificada e schorle (misturado com suco de frutas) são muito populares entre os alemães.

grande parte do clima da alemanha é temperado, no qual os ventos ocidentais úmidos predominam. no norte e no noroeste, chuvas ocorrem durante todo o ano sendo que o pico ocorre no verão. os invernos são amenos e os verões frescos, embora as temperaturas possam exceder os 30° por períodos prolongados. no leste, os invernos podem ser muito rigorosos, verões muito quentes, e longos períodos de seca já foram registrados. o centro e o sul da alemanhã são regiões de transição que variam entre os climas. a temperatura máxima pode exceder os 30° no verão.

o território da alemanha pode ser subdividido em quatro biorregiões: os remanescentes florestais do Atlântico, as florestas mistas báltico, florestas mistas da europa central e as florestas de angiospermas da europa ocidental. a maior parte da alemanha é coberta por terras aráveis ou florestas e bosques. plantas e animais são aqueles geralmente comuns para a europa central. coníferas estão aumentando como resultado do reflorestamento. os animais selvagens incluem javalis, veados selvagens, raposa, texugo, etc. várias aves migratórias cruzam o território alemão na primavera e no outono. também existem inúmeros parques de animais e zoológicos.

com cerca de 82,8 milhões de habitantes, a alemanha é o país mais populoso da união europeia. no entanto, sua taxa de fertilidade é de apenas 1,39 filhos por mulher, uma das mais baixas do mundo, e o escritório federal de estatísticas estima que a população vai decrescer para entre 69 e 74 milhões em 2050. a alemanha tem um grande número de cidades grandes, sendo as mais populosas berlim, hamburgo e munique. a homossexualidade na alemanha é legal e socialmente aceita; uniões civis têm sido permitidas desde 2002 e, em 2017, o casamento entre pessoas do mesmo sexo foi legalizado no país, assim como a adoção de crianças. berlim e hamburgo, as duas maiores cidades do país, já elegeram prefeitos abertamente gays. em relação à questão da imigração, os alemães têm se tornado cada vez mais abertos. até metade dos anos 90, a população não se considerava aberta para estrangeiros, mas a política está mudando.

num canto do estande, existe uma lojinha com roupas típicas alemãs (mais usadas no sul do país), onde você pode comprá-las. o dinheiro será arrecado para ajudar nos custos do grêmio da escola.

alguns alunos encenam e ensinam a dançar bändertanz e gigue, danças típicas alemãs.

representando o apreço dos alemães por cerveja, existe uma pequena competição entre duas pessoas (por vez) para quem esvaziar o copo primeiro.
