"FIGHTING CHANCE MURAL"

by Gibbs High School "What are you doing for others?"   — Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

One of the nation's oldest programs of its type, Leadership St. Pete is a division of the local chamber of commerce developing diverse community leaders "through creative thinking, thoughtful discussions, and hands on experience." Each Leadership St. Pete class completes a community oriented class project and in 2020 the group partnered with the talented student artists at Gibbs High School to create this mural for Morean Arts Center's Children's Learning Center on 7th St North. In addition to juxtaposing the MLK quote above with several design elements unique to St. Pete the "Fighting Chance Mural" included such timely references as children wearing masks.
